Aspects Holidays sponsor St Ives Biathlon | July 2013

Ever fancied running 2km, changing into a wetsuit and swimming 1.5km in open sea waters back to the starting point?… No, neither have we! However, this year Aspects will be supporting the 15th Anniversary of the St Ives Biathlon and all the brave competitors taking part.

Organised by registered charity, the St Ives Surf Living Club, the Biathlon is a community event and many locals get involved show their support, with all monies raised going straight to the SISLSC.

Taking place on Saturday 13 July, competitors will be challenged to run from the Wharf in St Ives to Carbis Bay, and then swim back around the coast to the starting point. There are three entry categories; juniors, novices and open/veterans, and is open to men and women of all ages.

The Biathlon is a fantastic event that is social, competitive but non-selective so almost anyone in the local area can take part. Two of our own staff are planning on participating this year and we’ll be there to show our support!

International surfing champion Ben Skinner, son of Skinners Brewery owner Steve Skinner, has agreed to open the races while long term supporters, The Sloop Inn and the Cornish Bakehouse will be providing a free pasty and pint for all competitors.

If you have a TR26 postcode or are a member of SISLSC and want to take part in the Biathlon, please register in advance at www.stivesslsc.com, where you can also find more information about the event.

Witness the event yourself with a stay in a Carbis Bay apartment >
