Mousehole is a beautiful fishing village sat between the quaint villages of Newlyn and Lamorna. To celebrate its fantastic maritime heritage, Mousehole holds a biennial festival which revives old traditions and welcomes traditional sailing boats to its harbour.
What’s on
As well providing a colourful insight into some fantastic Cornish traditions, the festival boasts live music from Jonah’s Lift (a fantastic local folk band ) and Mousehole Male Voice Choir. There will be cookery demonstrations by top chefs from local restaurant, 2 Fore Street and a kipper demonstration from writer and historian, Mike Smylie.
Hands-on
Get involved in the festival with crab pot making (the traditional way!) and admire three life-sized models constructed by Falmouth Maritime School as they encourage visitors to try their hand at some basic woodworking skills. There will be a fantastic photographic display of Mousehole from 1800’s to present day and various children’s activities including a flag making workshop.
The next event will take place on 11th, 12th, & 13th July 2014.
