Not only does the schedule of things to see and do allow you to entertain yourselves to suit your individual whims, but by simply being in the wild, windswept and utterly beautiful realms of the country’s end-of-the-line, you can fall in love with Cornwall, its landscape and culture to boot!

Fill your belly…

Get stuck in with a cooking course at Philleigh Way Cookery School, which is hosting a series of courses throughout February, including Indian Cookery (2nd), Italian Cookery (10th and 14th), Children’s Valentines Baking (13th), Pasties and Cream (16th) and Fish Dishes (17th). Alternatively, indulge in a spot of private dining, or sign up for a Woodfired Session or wonderfully interactive Supper Club. 

And with some top-notch, celebrity-chef restaurants hosting their own version of Valentine’s in every corner of Cornwall, book something special at one of Nathan Outlaw’s establishments or Ben Tunnicliffe's Sennen Cove and The Tolcarne Inn for some supremely fine dining.

Enliven your body and senses…

With a brisk walk along the stunning South West Coast Path or around one of the bevy of world-class gardens scattered throughout the Duchy. 

Some of the best and most beautiful routes include Flushing to Mylor, Boscastle and the Valency Valley, Frenchman’s Creek, Cardinham Woods, Struddicks and the scenic network around St Just, where the famed mining landscape will treat you to some seriously inspiring views.

The Eden Project will keep its ice rink open to those wanting to don their skates and have a spin until 18th February, while a different type of Cornish sporting action can be experienced during the St Ives Feast & Hurling the Silver Ball (5th February) or LDN Wrestling at The Acorn Theatre in Penzance (8th February).

You could even try your hand at a stint of apple grafting at Cotehele (17th-18th) to graft your own apple tree that you can take home and plant as a unique reminder of your loved-up stay.

Take in a show…

At any of the stream of venues throughout Cornwall. Truro’s central cultural hub, Hall for Cornwall presents an eclectic range of shows throughout February, including David Baddiel (9th February), Kernow King Celebrates Cornwall (10th February), Crazy For You (13th – 17th February), and Bill Bailey: Larks in Transit (19th – 22nd February).

Or catch “the scintillating sequel to their seductive, swinging sold out smasher of a Valentine’s soiree” with Airfish Aerial Arts’ ‘Some Like It Hotter’ at The Acorn Theatre on 17th February.

The Tate St Ives is hosting Virginia Woolf: An Exhibition Inspired by Her Writings (10th February – 29th April), The Exchange exhibits Tim Shaw RA (10th February – 12th May), and Newlyn Art Gallery presents ‘Structures Residency’ (10th February – 24th February) for art lovers to admire a wealth of soul-stirring works.
