We are pleased to share that we have recently donated £1000 to Dementia UK, a charity providing specialist dementia nurses across the country. Having only recently started covering Cornwall, this donation will enable the charity to provide invaluable support to families impacted by dementia across the county.
Over half of the UK population knows someone who has been diagnosed with a form of dementia. Therefore, our donation will support the invaluable work carried out by Dementia UK and the Admiral Nurses, who provide a lifeline for families, offering support when it’s most needed.
The team at Aspects Holidays is honoured to contribute to this amazing charity; it’s especially meaningful for those who have experienced the devastating effects of dementia.
Here’s what Commercial Director, Mandy Spencer, has to say: “Having lost my own Mum to Dementia earlier this year, I can vouch for the desperate need for more support to patients and their families that are living with this cruel disease. I didn’t recognise the early signs and found it genuinely frustrating to cope with and so upsetting for my Mum too, if our donation can help even one family, it will have been worth every penny.”
Hilda Hayo, CEO of Dementia UK and Chief Admiral Nurse, said: “We know that living with dementia can be a difficult and lonely experience. The support of an Admiral Nurse is a lifeline for families affected by dementia and the invaluable support of Aspects Holidays will mean we can provide this vital, life-changing support to even more families who need it”.
