Our brand new website ‘Ferienhaus Cornwall‘ is now live!
Over the past few weeks (and months!) we’ve been hard at work putting together our new German-language website, ‘Ferienhaus Cornwall’.
The site carries a German extension (.de) to help reach our target audience more easily and has been specifically designed to help our German-speaking visitors plan their stay and ultimately make their booking process simpler.
The website features all of our 400+ ‘Ferienhäuser in Cornwall’ (holiday cottages in Cornwall), with each property having its own page, and will all soon have their very own German description, accompanied by photos. Property descriptions are still being translated and loaded onto the website, which is no small task! Over half have been translated so far, with the remainder expected to be live by January and, rather than rely on translation software, we’ve employed native Germans to avoid any potential cross-cultural translation blunders!
The website features information across the different areas of Cornwall, designed to give a feel for the various landscapes and environments on offer. Users can browse information about popular towns like St Ives, Marazion, Carbis Bay and Mousehole, whilst discovering many of the lesser-known destinations in between, helping to form a better idea on which places they would most like to stay in and explore further.
The Ferienhaus Cornwall website also has it’s very own blog section, providing information on attractions and things to do, designed to appeal to German speaking visitors.
If you have spent much time around the county over recent years you may have noticed a steady increase in the number of German visitors to the region. Inspired by the TV adaptations of Rosamunde Pilcher’s novels, many Germans have come to love Cornwall and what it has to offer, with 250,000 German visitors now coming to Cornwall each year; a figure representing two-thirds of our total overseas visitors.
What’s more, German flight operators are now offering direct flights to Newquay, putting Cornwall firmly on the map as a popular holiday destination.
