As part of our Million Mile Clean with Surfers Against Sewage, some of our team headed to the golden sands of Perranporth beach last week for a beach clean! Unfortunately, plastic pollution on our beautiful beaches is a worldwide problem, 12 million tonnes of plastic are pouring into the ocean every year. Aspects Holidays have teamed up with Surfers Against Sewage to give back to our local communities and reduce our environmental impact.
We met at our Perranporth office and made sure we had gloves and our bags and headed over to the dunes to get stuck in. Our team found all sorts of rubbish, such as flip flops, an array of plastic bottles and disposable barbecues. The dunes behind the beach are a site of Special Scientific Interest so no fires are permitted there.
We then headed onto the beach, where our team headed into all the nooks and crannies to pick up all the hidden litter as well as anything along the beach.
Our rubbish was kindly collected by local business CTC Waste. Thank you to Surfers Against Sewage for providing the equipment, if you want to find out more about beach cleans and how to take part then head to their website.
