We do love a garden wander, and Trenance Gardens in Newquay is just the spot. Featuring a beautiful lake, a series of winding paths lead you around pretty borders filled with flowers and gently swaying willows lining the water’s edge. Dogs must be kept on leads while visiting, making it a lovely place to slow down and appreciate the natural world. 

Pentire Point West

When it comes to dog-friendly things to do in Cornwall, walking has to be top of the list. With several dog-friendly beaches nearby and a superb pub with a fantastic sea-view beer garden that welcomes furry companions, Pentire Point West is an excellent destination for a dog walk. Polly Joke and Crantock Beach both welcome dogs throughout the year, giving you ample opportunities to enjoy some sandy zoomies during your walk. Later, end up at The Bowgie Inn for a glass of something refreshing and an unbeatable view.

Another favourite, Holywell Bay boasts a large stretch of sand where dogs can run free throughout the year, bound around with a ball, meet other furry friends, and perhaps even enjoy a paddle! At low tide, the beach is a mile long, meaning there is plenty of space for all in a beautiful setting (as seen in TV’s Poldark and House of the Dragon).

Fistral Beach

We couldn’t mention dog-friendly beaches in Newquay without featuring Fistral Beach. Fistral is famous for its dog-friendly status and the perfect place to throw a ball, chase the waves, or run the entire stretch of sand. Renowned for being one of the best surfing beaches in the UK, it holds all of the iconic events, such as the English National Surfing Championships and Boardmasters, the largest surf and skate festival in Europe. Within walking distance of the town centre, close to cliff paths, and boasting many restaurants, bars, and cafés, this is heaven for dogs in Newquay!
