We were lucky enough to be invited for a surfing session with Hayle Surf School recently. Hidden in the dunes at Beachside Holiday Park in Hayle, with views of the stunning 3 miles of golden sand stretching to Godrevy Lighthouse. With wetsuits and boards provided, the surf school has everything needed for beginners or the more seasoned pros!

We met our instructor Nik, who ran us through the technique on the beach and all the safety information before hitting the waves. The conditions were windy, but the waves were relatively small, perfect for learners! Most of the group were beginners, however, Nik was on hand to give us all the right tips and tricks to get us going, and within no time at all most of the group could stand on the boards and enjoy riding the waves onto the shore.

The session lasted around 2 hours and we enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate from the hut at the top of the dunes afterwards!
