We were lucky enough to be invited by Lizard Adventure on a sea kayaking adventure along the stunning rugged coastline at Mullion on the south coast.

On a sunny spring day, we headed to the Lizard Adventure hut, located at Mullion Harbour, ready to explore. Provided with wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets, we got kitted up and headed down to the shore for a demo with Matt and Chris, our informative instructors.

We had a little practice paddle around the sheltered harbour to get used to the kayaks, and then away we went to explore further afield. This stunning stretch of coastline is full of rugged rock formations and coastal wildlife. We paddled around Mullion Island, keeping our distance from the wildlife, Matt pointed out guillemots and pillow lava, pillow shaped masses that appear in volcanic rock. It was remarkable to see the coast from the water, which was a lovely turquoise shade, we really lucked out with the weather!

For the thrill seekers of the group, there was a chance to take a daring paddle through the gaps in the rocks, making sure to launch themselves through when the swell was right! The session lasted around 2 hours; however, you can choose longer, and shorter times based on your preferences. Whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned pro, Lizard Adventure can suit all needs.
