Immerse yourself in rural bliss with a tranquil stay at The Old Stables, an immaculate countryside retreat. Nestled in the pretty Cornish village of Mawgan, there's lots of adventures to be had from your doorstep or you could simply sit back and unwind in your Cornish hideaway. Step inside to discover the spacious and light open plan living and dining areas; large squishy sofas are calling out for you to fall into them and the stylish dining area is perfect for long suppers by candlelight and enjoying each other's company. The fabulous kitchen is beautifully equipped with a Nespresso machine for your morning coffee and Le Creuset cookware. Open the door out to the south-facing courtyard and large lawn to enjoy long lunches in the Cornish sunshine at this rural retreat. Upstairs you'll find three gorgeous bedrooms. The principal bedroom has a fabulous super-king bed with an en suite shower-room and charming views of the church. The twin bedroom is perfect for children and adults alike, while the spacious king-size room is wonderfully spacious and beautifully furnished. There's also a family bathroom on this floor, with a lovely bath for a luxurious soak at the end of the day. Every home comfort has been thought of for guests, there is a utility area in the entrance hall with a farmhouse drying rack, handy for drying off swimming costumes after a day at the beach. Outside, the courtyard and garden are both lovely spots to enjoy the sunshine with a good book and a long, iced drink in the sunshine. The Old Stable's friendly neighbours include the cows who live on site and two other holiday lets, The Old Granary and Church view, which are also available to book via Aspects Holidays.

Set in a rural idyll on a working cattle farm in the village of Mawgan, this is a delightful destination for your Cornwall holiday. The cows enjoy grazing on the farmland in the summer and in the sheds behind the barns in the winter months, so you might hear a gentle lowing from time to time. Mawgan has a fabulous pub nearby, The Ship, which is a great spot for a delicious meal and drinks and don't forget Gear Farm pasties, which are a must, and also try Gwella Dairy ice-cream too - there's so much local produce to choose from. The village shop is just a short stroll away, and if you fancy heading out for a walk, the pretty banks of the Helford and Tremayne Quay are nearby. If you're looking to explore more of Cornwall, you're certainly in a great location to do so! The popular village of Porthleven is nearby with a fantastic selection of coffee shops and eateries and beautiful Mullion Cove is well worth a visit during your stay. A little further afield, you will find the cheerful town of Falmouth with its wonderful restaurants, pretty golden sand beaches and laid-back atmosphere. There's plenty to see and do on your holiday in Cornwall, whether you're searching for a relaxing escape to the countryside or are planning a week jam-packed with activities.

Holidays in Helford River

Helford River is a large estuary nestled between Falmouth and the Lizard Peninsula, stretching almost 50km, up to the old port of Gweek. You’ll find a plethora of hidden beaches, stunning scenery and picturesque villages.

Renowned for its micro-climate, this part of the south coast benefits from a balmy climate, where tropical plants flourish. Experience this for yourselves at one of the beautiful sub-tropical gardens on the Helford River.

With numerous walks and waterside pubs, you can spend your days exploring different parts of the river, discovering hidden creeks and ending each day at a different Cornish pub.

Frenchman's Creek inspired the Daphne du Maurier novel of the same name?
