We have stayed at Sandy Acres properties for the last 3 years. Sea Mist is another gem. It’s situated at the end of the development giving an extra bit of privacy. Inside Sea Mist, you are made to feel special. The space and light is wonderful and the furnishings complement the house so well. You begin to feel relaxed immediately you arrive. Access to the enormous expanse of beach is stunning and you have so many great options for walks around the area. Relaxing in the hot tub after a beautiful walk along the coastal paths, beaches etc is possibly the best thing and makes me smile every time.

Holidays in Gwithian

Gwithian is a beautiful area of Cornwall and is home to the beautiful Gwithian beach, a popular location for beach sports and surfers. This impressive stretch of sand is immensely popular with sand yachts and kite buggies as well as being a real hot spot for surfers of all abilities.

Gwithian is a coastal village situated in a conservation area and close to National Trust areas. Here you will find a friendly local pub, three cafes offering delicious refreshments and a surf academy. Being just a short drive to the harbour and beach towns of St IvesPenzanceMouseholePorthleven and Marazion, self catering holidays in Gwithian make for a fun packed holiday for all!

Did you know...

Gwithian forms part of a 3 mile long beach that stretches from Hayle Estuary to Godrevy!

Things to do in Gwithian

Surfing

With great surf all year round, it's no wonder it's a popular surf spot with both locals and visitors. Perfect for beginners and advanced surfers, Gwithian is an ideal place to learn and progress. With a local Surf school operating from here, first timers will be up and riding in no time.

Beaches

Gwithian Towans, Hayle Towans and Godrevy offer three miles of golden sands and the most dramatic coastline stretching across to St Ives Bay. At low tide, with such a vast amount of sand, there is plenty of room for everyone – even horses getting their daily exercise. There are large areas of rock pools and intriguing caves which are great for kids to explore. Visit in the evening and you may be treated to a stunning sunset. Read more about Gwithian Towans and other beaches in the area on our blog. It's also worth visiting the rugged cliffs at Hell's Mouth, which is just a 5 minute drive away, where you can park your car for free and enjoy a delicious cream tea in the cafe.

Foraging

Foraging is popular in Cornwall, and Gwithian Towans offers an ideal place to give it a go. Foraging lessons are available, during which you'll discover everything from how to make seaweed crisps, to picking edible flowers. It's certain to be a fun day out for the whole family. Check out our blog post on Wild Food Walks in Cornwall to find out more.

St Gothian Nature Reserve

What was once a commercial sand quarry, this site has since been declared as a nature reserve. The habitat has been improved with the addition of a large pool and other smaller pools which have been fenced off, creating a safe place for wildfowl and waders. Perfect for bird watching. Dog walkers are asked to keep dogs on a lead so as to not disturb the wildlife.

Walking

From Gwithian, you can walk the South West Coast Path all the way to St Ives, and experience some beautiful scenery along the way. Pass through Hayle and Lelant before finally arriving at St Ives Harbour. The walk takes approximately 6 hours so be sure to bring supplies!

4th time at Sandy Acres and 2nd in Sea Mist. 10/10 every time

A wonderful, quiet, well equipped property (we visited in March, so may not be so in the high season). Within the cottage was everything you would need for a very comfortable stay. The location is superb, beautiful walks, stunning views and a host of lovely eateries, all within walking distance (miles, not minutes). The cleanliness was superb. Having found this area, we will definitely be returning.

We had a fantastic week, I would highly recommend staying here. It’s a great location with fantastic amenities and close to lots of things to do.

A lot of good points and quality items provided, but there are some glaring omissions such that we would not stay again

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with certain aspects of the property. We try to show and detail as clearly as we can, what is provided in the property, the style of furnishings, décor and so on, so we are sorry if there was anything that was not what you had expected. Tanya, Customer Services

We had the best holiday at Sea Mist. The location was perfect. Just a short walk to the beach and a super beach cafe. Excellent for breakfast! The area was very quiet. Even if the other houses are booked it is peaceful , there is a lot of privacy and you are not overlooked.

All fixtures and fittings in the house are top quality with everything you could possibly wish for. It’s decorated in such a way that you feel relaxed and refreshed. We placed another booking on day three !!! Definitely a place we will keep returning to. Worth every penny. Thank you Aspects !

Wonderful property and location - the local beach is dog friendly in parts. It is an outstanding beach- directly from Sandy Acres it is dog friendly, but towards Hayle & also the other end towards Gwithian isn’t. We had a super time here as a party of 5 plus dog & would love to stay here again. Everything is within easy reach - a wonderful holiday had by all!!

Everything about this property and the service from Aspect was fabulous. The property was spotless, spacious and well equipped and we loved the hot tub. I didn't have much interaction with Aspect but when I did they were prompt, courteous and efficient. Would recommend this property and this company.

Our 2nd visit to Sandy Acres ( different property) Great location and superb beach which is dog friendly. Great little cafe in car park serves fab coffee. Property was well equipped but lacked the little extras we enjoyed last time. Easy walk in to Hayle with some great eateries and independant shops as well as supermarkets etc. Overall good

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed another stay in this amazing location. It really is an ideal spot, with such easy access to such a beautiful beach and the lovely town of Hayle as well. We are sorry that you had a couple of bits missing this time though. The housekeeper had forgotten to leave the pods for the coffee machine, so there would usually be some left for guests; and she hadn't left the cushions out for the balcony furniture in case the weather took a turn for the worse. But with the cupboard that they are stored in being locked, we are now arranging for these to be somewhere accessible to guests. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we hope that we will see you back here again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

We have just come back from a lovely weeks stay at Sandy Acres Sea Mist. This is definitely the place to come if you are looking to escape from it all and for complete relaxation. The exterior and interior of the property has been done to a high spec and leaves you wanting for nothing. The hot tub was cleaned daily and was a perfect addition to the large decked area. Will definitely stay here again when we next visit Cornwall.

Our second time staying at Sandy Acres and it definitely won’t be our last. It really does tick all of the boxes for a totally relaxing stay. Walk down the beach to The Rockpool for a fantastic meal.

We have stayed in 3 of these properties over the years and they never fail to disappoint. Location is brilliant. The beach is amazing for dogs. The property is brilliantly equipped inside to make for a perfect home from home. We have stayed in other properties before but we always wish we stayed here for the perfect location and relaxing break! Thanks for a great holiday!

Great location, just a walk to the beach, lots of space for a family with grown children and lots of outdoor space for families with small children to play in a safe practically car free location.

our 2nd visit to this beautiful property. ideally situated for the beach and days out. will visit again! thanks to the amazing Aspects team as always.

A beautiful and luxurious chalet. It's extremely well designed inside and out with plenty of room and light. It is spacious, clean, private and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. I would highly recommend it...fantastic.

The Sandy Acres lodges are a lovely holiday destination. It was our third visit with kids & dogs. Try Liesi's cakes at the beach car park cafe - the best in Cornwall!! Aspects Holidays are super helpful. Enjoy Cornwall!

Fabulous place for a quiet and relaxing escape from the world, .. just what 2020 needed!

Really was the most precious of time, everything that could possibly be needed is to hand in the kitchen, wonderful comfortable beds, spacious decking with lovely hot tub, the accomodation is a holiday in itself and there could be no reason to leave if it wasn't for the glorious span of dunes and beaches right on the doorstep. Cakes at the beach cafe are superb, and lots of change so always something new to try. Perfection!

Beautiful location, stunning lodge. Would visit again and again!

Wonderful stay as always in beautiful Hayle. The beach lodges are gorgeous, luxurious and beautifully maintained. The owners have literally thought of everything, Aspects were incredibly helpful and friendly.

Thanks all!

Great holiday. Staff were very helpful and answered all our questions and chartered for all our requests. Will definitely stay again.
