Holidays in Prussia Cove

Sitting on the South Coast between Marazion and Porthleven, Prussia Cove is perfect for enjoying many of the stunning beaches in the area. Nestled at the end of a single track road, this sheltered, rocky cove is perfect for escaping the crowds. Being south facing, its great for soaking up the sun too.

Surrounded by farmland, Prussia Cove is a particularly attractive and sheltered section of the South West Coast Path, situated to the East of Mounts Bay, and providing an ideal location to relax in peace. However, stay at Prussia Cove and you won't be far from the hustle and bustle of the harbour towns of Marazion and Penzance, and you'll be just a stone's throw from the stunning St Michael's Mount.  With the little coastal villages of Perranuthnoe and Praa Sands either side, there's plenty to explore. For other beaches in the area, check out our blog post on sandy beaches in West Cornwall.

Although the beach is a half mile walk from the car park, you'll be rewarded when you get there, with a beautifully secluded beach and an excellent snorkelling location.

The beach is also dog-friendly all year round, making it great for holidays with your furry companion.

Foragers can take advantage of the rare, but thriving wild cabbage in Prussia Cove! For those looking to learn more about this ever-popular past time, check out our blog on Wild Food Walks in Cornwall.

Did you know...

Prussia Cove was once a popular smuggling spot!

The history of Prussia Cove

Prussia Cove is well known for its smuggling trade in the 18th century.  This secluded area was home to John Carter; one of the UK's most notiorious and successful smugglers. The 'King of Prussia' as he was known, was famous for breaking into revenue premises to steal the goods that had been seized from him.

Prussia Cove was also a popular fishing area, with evidence of old fishing huts built into the cliff face. Fishing is Prussia Cove continues to this day, albeit on a much smaller scale.

High quality accommodation is a very good location. Excellent outdoor facilities with good sea views over the fields.

If you want a well appointed, clean and comfortable place with good light and glorious views, this is the place for you. Not so super glitzy but oh so restful with a lovely atmosphere.

St Breca is a gem - a beautiful property in a great location!

A wonderful homely, comfortable and peaceful cottage, whatever the weather. We loved our week here!

St Breca is a perfect place and I would go every month if I could.

Our first stay at St Breca and we certainly weren’t disappointed. It is absolutely stunning with the most wonderful views. It’s a place that’s good for the soul, blissfully quiet and so relaxing. We’ve already booked for next year and can’t wait to return. I’m reluctant to say any more as don’t want to find we can’t book it in future! A big shout out to Aspects too, for a first class service as always. Thank you so much.

Our 7th stay at St Breca, and next 2 visits already booked!,a lovely place to relax and chill which is exactly what we do every time we visit

Terrific location and a very spacious and well appointed property.

Our third visit to this amazing property and each time we go we try and book again! Everything works and is provided and we love the quirky nature of the mugs etc and all the furnishings. The garden or veranda are lovely places to sit and watch the world float by. You are so close to many attractions and you have the added bonus of the coastal path just a 5 minute walk away. We leave relaxed and refreshed - thank you so much!

St. Breca is very special; a little piece of heaven!

Excellent quality accommodation set in a lovely garden. Very peaceful and relaxing with good views all around.

We always look forward to our time at St Breca, it is comfortable peaceful and so relaxing. It is also in a most wonderful location with stunning views.

Our 5th trip to St Breca and just as lovely and relaxing as ever. We were blessed with great weather which made it more magical watching all the wildlife appear everyday.

Wonderful place to relax and unwind, beautiful sea views and some lovely coastal walks on your doorstep, we have stayed here on numerous occasions and each time we go home we can't wait to return

Arriving at St Breca is always a joy, comfortable whatever the weather.
We enjoy watching the cows when they come to the fence, some of them are real characters and I open the blinds carefully in the morning so that we can watch the hares in the fenced off area in front.
There is a feeling of ease at St Breca which really charges our batteries. It is a proper break of rest and relaxation.

Our second stay at St Breca and again it did not disappoint. Peace and quiet with amazing views - great place to recharge your batteries. Easy to walk to the main road for buses to Penzance, Porthleven, Helston and Falmouth but also great walks on the doorstep.

We have now stayed in St Breca enough times to have been there in all weathers. I am always amazed at just how well St Breca was built and thought through, no matter what the weather does we are comfortable, warm and dry.

The view is constantly changing (you can see the weather coming), the light, especially in mid Winter is very welcome.

The position gives easy access to all the areas we like most and if we don't fancy going out it is a very pleasant place to be.

Perfect location for a relaxing break

Yet another wonderful stay at St Breca, We have already booked for two further holiday's here in 2023 and can't wait to return

A spacious, private setting with views of the sea and fields of cows. There is a campsite nearby but we neither heard or saw anyone from the site; it didn't impact our privacy in any way. We've stayed twice and on both occasions we've slept well and felt rested despite having two young children with us. We all slept well and considering our children have never been good sleepers, they slept exceptionally well at St Breca. It's an excellent base to explore south Cornwall, we were 30 minutes from Sennon cove, St Ives, Zennor, Porthleven and 40 minutes from Falmouth. Excellent bus route with the U4 stopping a ten minute walk away. The coastal path takes you to Prussia Cove and you could walk to Praa Sands if you are inclined to do so. Perranuthnoe is also a lovely beach, a couple of minutes walk. Beautiful house with lots of space for a family with a big sized garden with a firepit

My husband and two children had the most wonderful week at St Breca. The house feels just like home with so many books and fabulous artwork everywhere - that is if you can take you eyes off the view! We especially enjoyed the garden for playing frisbee and watching the cows in the mornings. The beds were really comfy and the bathrooms were beautifully decorated with good showers. We didn’t use the kitchen much as we ate out most of the time but you could definitely cook up a storm with all the high quality equipment provided. Everything was just wonderful - just don’t tell everyone about it!!

A very special house in the most beautiful place. We love you St. Breca! Thank you for looking after us so well Aspects Holidays.

A wonderful property in a wonderful position - stunning views

St Breca is stunning with a view to match. It far exceeded our expectations and had everything we needed. The setting is very peaceful and relaxing and we had a very chilled and relaxed holiday. We can’t wait to book it again.

Now been several times as we love it so much. Endlessly changing light and colours of the sea, bird watching, wildlife watching, ease of getting to the coast path for cliff walks, peace, all perfect. We've been there in howling gales and torrents of rain, always comfortable, safe and cosy. We''ve enjoyed sitting on the verandah in good weather. Cooking is a joy there, all the equipment works and we've found out how to get Vickey's Bakery bread directly (that is the English sense of the word and not the Cornish).

Dear fellow visitors, I am genuinely nervous to tell you how lovely it is at St Breca. Last time I did this we couldn't get for quite sometime. Everything works and is comfortable. look at the ever changing view and look out for Hare and lots of rabbits, many birds (won't name depends on the time of year). The path down to Prussia Cove is open currently (February), if able, go further to Cudden Point. Find Porthkidney beach (directions in the folder), it is wow! Newish people in The Packet, doing well, simple food well done, lively atmosphere. The organic store opposite Perranuthno Turn is still going, Rachel is very helpful there. Just soak up the glorious, relaxing atmosphere.

St Breca is a beautiful, individual, quirky place to stay. We loved the peaceful location with stunning views out over the sea. Being a winter stay the fireplace enabled cosy evenings in. During the day we were spoilt for choice with walks from the door step - a 3-4 hour walk takes you to Porthleven and conveniently the bus back stops at the top of the road. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

Wonderful location in a beautifully crafted home with great views and access to all of Cornwalls stunning locations. Booked again for next year as we were leaving !!

Our third stay at this beautiful place, we have booked a further two stays here for 2022 which shows you how much we love it here!! G&T

A gorgeous house in a stunning peaceful location

St Breca had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing holiday and then some! The house is beautiful and the views and outdoor space are the best we have experienced in Cornwall. The walk from the house to Kennegy Cove is challenging in places, but you are rewarded at the end! It is a lovely sandy beach at low tide and even though we were there in peak season, it was quiet. We hope to return again soon!

A really lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Peaceful, comfortable and very private. Excellent views from the lounge and one bedroom. Very well equipped, inside and out. Spacious well maintained garden.

Yet another fantastic stay at St Breca. It is just stunning in every way. Beautiful views, wonderful house and so quiet and relaxing. Can’t wait for the next trip

You will struggle to find a better place to enjoy a stay in Cornwall, the property overlooks the sea and is within easy reach of local places of interest, we have visited this particular property twice and have already booked a further two breaks here next year, absolutely love it and we now call this our 'second home'!!

The lucky people that are fortunate to be able to stay at this magical place will never be disappointed. The views from the house and garden are breathtaking. St Breca is a beautiful house, equipped with everything to make your stay easy, comfortable and a delight ! The house, garden, and coastal walks to be enjoyed on a warm day, but should the weather keep you from leaving the house-then light the fire, relax with the array of fantastic books and watch the rabbits ! You will not want to leave.

Wow!!! What an amazing place to stay! Homely, cosy, welcoming and clean. I am in awe..St Breca is a magical place to stay, I didn’t want to leave!

Wonderful stay, location superb, already booked for May 2021 and also looking to book for October as well, yes it really is that nice, loved it G&T

St Breca is a truly wonderful property, in a stunning location.

Dear lucky future guests, you are in for a treat! If you can pull yourselves away from the ever changing, always gorgeous view, do scramble down to the coast path, it is worth it. 7 minutes to the right (as you face the sea) is Prussia Cove and if you have judged your tide table (available from local newsagents) correctly you can get to the sandy side, which is lovely. Carry on to Bessy's Cove, rather interesting. If you go left, 30 minutes gets you to Praa Sands, very child friendly, loos, food, a good atmosphere. By car, from the main road, left, 10 minutes, Marion, beach, and St Michael's Mount. Tim's Organic foods are still there, just short of the Perranuthnoe turn and are great Right Porthleven, a proper, still, working harbour. They now cater well for visitors with good fresh fish shops and restaurants of every level to suit all requirements. Go to Godolphin, the gardens are lovely and scramble up the hill to get the double view, the Mount one way and St Ives the other. Everything in the kitchen works and what a view whilst cooking.

Such a beautiful house in a lovely location, with good (but quite steep) access to the coast path. It was warm and comfortable, especially when it was stormy outside, and when it was sunny, it was great to sit outside on the roomy verandah in December staring idly at the stunning view of the Lizard. We particularly loved all the books being everywhere - it immediately felt like home.

This is a beautifully designed home - it was great for two couples with the two good sized bedrooms at opposite ends of the house providing privacy when you want it, and having a great communal space with loads of space for cooking, eating or just looking at the view. We all went away plotting ways to build a similar house, but it would be really difficult to find a site as beautiful as St Breca!

Our second visit to St Breca and just as lovely as ever

St Breca is a delightful holiday home, beautifully designed to maximise the views of the countryside and sea nearby and equipped to a high standard. The facilities on site are the best we have experienced and highly recommend. The proximity to Penzance, St Ives, St Michaels Mount and Lands End mean the property is a great base to explore the area without having to travel far. The veranda was a lovely place to enjoy the views and be able to watch our boys playing in the enclosed garden - the cricket and boules sets were an added bonus.

This is one of the best holiday properties we have ever stayed in and we certainly hope and intend to return. We really appreciated the attention to detail and flair with which it had been designed, decorated and equipped.

The location is great too - peaceful but only a 20 minute walk from the beach in one direction or a good family-friendly pub in the other, and a short short drive to top holiday places like St Michael's Mount and Porthleven. The local beach at Kenneggy Cove is relatively quiet and very good for body boarding, snorkelling, rock pooling, dams and sand castles. However the path down to the coast path is narrow and steep in parts and turns into a muddy stream in the rain so requires appropriate footwear. You should also be aware that there is no lifeguard cover.

We fell in love with St. Breca the moment we stepped in this lovely place. Gorgeous seaview, lovely decorated, nice fireplace, beautiful plants and flowers all around the cottage. Its a good location for exploring Cornwall with a good pub nearby. We do really recommend St. Breca.

This is our 4th stay at St Breca and we have no doubt this is one of the best locations we have stayed at both for comfort, peace and quiet and relaxation. It is also perfect for the coast and wonderful walking trips. Seem to appreciate it more every time we come.

Do scramble down to the coastal path, 10 minutes down, 13 back, this gives you access quickly to Prussia cove and beyond to Kennegy sands (check the tide for that day). Bessy's Cove (smuggling) and Perranuthnoe further along. Going the other way Praa Sands, great beach, loos, food, and surfing if you are so inclined. The very good garage/shop on the nearby A39 for everything from wood to biscuits. Get up early and don't walk close to the windows to catch the wildlife and birdlife. Enjoy the ever changing view.

Our brief was a winter break with log fires, and quiet walks. Cottage did not disappoint - built to a high standard with oak beams and floors and under floor heating, generally well equipped (we ate ready meals about half the time), comfortable, comfy beds, and plenty of hot water. Great location near the coastal path, and easy access to Penzance / Helston main road. Would love to see the garden in spring and summer.

Amazing base for a holiday in this part of Cornwall. The veranda is the perfect place for a leisurely breakfast or just to relax with a glass of wine after a day of hiking or sightseeing.

The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge area comfortable and welcoming, the beds and bedrooms are lovely and the view to the sea is the cherry on the cake. This is a stylish property and has everything you could possibly need.

Peaceful and quiet, we didn't want to leave!

A stunning cottage with stunning views. So comfortable and welcoming and very peaceful which was just what we needed after a traumatic year for us.

One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed at.

Fabulous holiday at St Breca, the cottage has the best views, is spacious, spotless and very well equipped, some lovely touches with the decor and I spent all week discovering all the little extras throughout the cottage. 10 out of 10

This is an absolutely delightful cottage. It’s beautifully decorated and well laid-out. The outside space is fantastic and I don’t think we would ever tire of the stunning view.

This is a truly fabulous place, warm, comfortable and really beautifully furnished. It's definitely one of the best cottages we've ever stayed in.

Such a beautiful property, excellent location. Lots of interesting things to look at. Lovely comfortable beds.

A truly stunning house with a fabulous view of the sea. Snuggled up playing cards, with the fire crackling in the background, was heaven. Great location for beaches, shops and very warm. The children loved staying here too!

The pictures do not do the house justice. The views, the house, the setting are all perfect

This was a wonderful place to stay, we enjoyed every minute of being there. Very clean and very homely. It felt like a very loved home and with everything you could possibly need, even a hot outdoor shower!

Superb accomodation with amazing views. Garden is a lovely size for children to play, such a shame to have to come home after our week away.

We loved every minute of our time at St Breca and can't wait to go back! Thank you

Without doubt one of the best cottages we have stayed at it just ticks all the boxes

Stunning property. Wonderful location. Lovely sea view. So very relaxing.

This was like a piece of heaven on earth, I'm so glad we've found it, but please don't tell too many people as we'll be unable to book it again next year:-)

A beautiful comfortable home tucked away in a tranquil position with massive views from all windows. We wanted a cosy hideaway to help celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and St Breca had all that in buckets,we enjoyed our stay immensely. Would certainly return in the future.

Fantastic cottage. Brilliant location. Wonderful service!

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years in Cornwall, Devon and other uk locations, and this property is without question the best we have stayed at so far. It is as near perfect as you can get.

A perfect rural retreat. Amazing distant sea views from all aspects. We hope to return to St Breca in 2017 for another blissful week! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your very beautiful holiday home!

A excellent property, the best we've stayed in, contemporary but with rustic character and sea view. A perfect relaxing property with everything you could wish for provided

St Breca is a stunning house located in quiet, beautiful location. The interior and views did not disappoint and I would highly recommend this property.
