Joining us in April 2025 and passed down through generations of the same family, Ley's Cottage is a very special Grade II listed home which has recently been lovingly restored. With thirst-quenching sundowners poured, spend late afternoons in the south-facing garden, in front of the expanse of emerald lawn. Plan the evening ahead and a mouth-watering supper, made from the freshest local ingredients purchased from the well-stocked local farm shop. Sympathetically furnished to create a home from home feel, Ley's Cottage has underfloor heating downstairs, ensuring your bare toes are kept toasty and warm. With tired legs from a busy day exploring, take a few moments for a long soak in the bath with a glass of bubbles in hand or take a refreshing shower before the evening ahead. Visit the local pub just a short stroll way, before returning home to the comfort of your cottage to play board games with a glass of wine or two.

Sleeping five, with parking for one car and accepting two dogs, Ley's Cottage is located in the heart of St Buryan Village, ideally positioned to explore the incredibly beautiful beaches at Porthcurno and Sennen Cove which are just a short drive away. Perfect for countryside rambles, there is so much to explore for the avid walker, whether you are heading towards the coastal path or searching for the several ancient monuments scattered around the St Buryan Parish. Ley's Cottage is a very cosy and comfortable home, perfect for those special holiday memories.

From the moment we stepped through the door our holiday began. The cottage is everything you could want for a holiday, and so much more! Comfortable, warm and welcoming. We were welcomed with a lovely cream tea, thank you.. milk in the fridge and local amenities 2 minutes away to stock up for the week. The St Buryan Inn is a basic pub, but the hospitality and food is outstanding.. not to be missed! And the garden was perfect for our dog, allowing her, too, to enjoy a stress free holiday. A perfect location with so many beaches and local landmarks on the doorstep.

Holidays in St Buryan

For those looking to explore the west of Cornwall, the pretty village of St Buryan has plenty of foothpaths, and is close to Sennen, Porthcurno, and the fishing ports of Mousehole, Penzance and Newlyn. St Buryan is a truly peaceful place, set amongst farmland and home to a traditional Cornish community.

The centre of the village is dominated by the Grade I listed church,  which features the heaviest peal of six bells anywhere in the world! The church has the tallest tower in the area and if you’re lucky enough to be there on Tower Open Day and the weather is fine, you can see for miles.

While self catering in St Buryan, be sure to take a visit to the St Buryan Inn; a traditional county pub, serving up good pub food in a relaxed atmosphere, with a selection of Cornish ales on offer. There's also a corner shop for all your essentials whilst staying in a holiday cottage in St Buryan.

The parish is scattered with neolithic activity, such as the Merry Maiden stone circle, The Pipers standing stones, many burial chambers and ancient holy wells. Read more on the history of the area on our blog: West Penwith - Through the ages

Top tip

Be sure to pack your walking boots as St Buryan has fantastic footpaths.

Things to do in St Buryan

St Buryan is well situated to take advantage of the popular tourist attractions such as the Minack Theatre and St Michael's Mount.

Be sure to visit the nearby St Loy's Cove; a rocky beach which is accessed through a beautiful wooded valley. It's nearly always quiet too, making it great for taking in the surroundings in a peaceful location.

With all this in mind it is easy to see why this popular tourist destination is perfect for a self catering summer holiday, short break or out-of-season visit.

Leys Cottage is beautiful and chic, its certainly got that wow factor to it, a comfy and peaceful place where you can relax and enjoy with the family. Ample parking space for a car/SUV right in front of the property!

St Buryan village is well within easy reach of porthcurno, penzance, sennen, etc. A nice little village which has lovely old buildings, cottages to admire, almost like stepping back in time.

I would highly recommend a stay at Ley's Cottage, you will not be disappointed.!

We really enjoyed our week at Leys Cottage. It’s a really lovely homely cottage and in a great location for exploring the South West of Cornwall.

A perfect Cornwall holiday at Leys cottage.

A bright and beautifully decorated cottage suitable for us all to stay in. Spotlessly clean and a super comfy beds!

Well equipped for cooking with a large fridge freezer and separate under the counter fridge - if you like to plan meals ahead like us!

The secure enclosed garden for the dog was a real highlight, especially for our reactive rescue. We enjoyed eating our dinner outside each night among the lovely lavender plants.

The area itself is lovely and quiet, and only a short drive away from several lovely beaches. The farm shop down the road was a real treat, selling lots of lovely bits!

We hope to return soon!

Spent an idyllic week at Ley’s cottage. Was a last minute booking and was so worth it. Beautifully renovated cottage with an amazing garden for us and our two dogs to enjoy the long summer evenings. Well equipped ,clean and location perfect for our needs to explore Sennen Cove and Porthcurno. Tastefully furnished and felt very homely. We did not want to leave and will definitely pay a return visit.

Ley's Cottage is a delightful little cottage, perfect for our family of four for a week in half term. Everything is sparkly new and of high quality, and the garden is delightful - we watched the swifts and swallows in the evening and the church bells were lovely. There is literally nothing to complain about, we had a fabulous time and didn't want to leave. The restoration on the cottage is really sympathetic and the owners have made a really lovely holiday home - thank you!

Absolutely beautiful cottage, very nicely furnished and very comfortable. Bed was as comfy as ours at home! Location was very good to explore the beautiful local beaches, Minack Theatre, Penzance & St. Ives… Local Farm shop 1/2 mile away and local Londis Store & Pub nearby. Garden very peaceful and overlooks St. Buryan church, hearing the wonderful church bells was an added bonus and we enjoyed watching the Bats at Dusk. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Cottage it was really beautiful and of a high standard. We had a wonderful much needed break with our two dogs :)
