This is a home for happiness. Precious moments and lifelong memories are sure to be made at No.2 The Allotments. After a fun filled day on one of the nearby golden beaches, return home to No.2 The Allotments and throw open the French doors to let the cool breeze flow in. Spend late, sunny afternoons on the lawn, with a refreshing gin and tonic, while the children enjoy simple pleasures, shaping graceful chains from daisies and buttercups. With a beguiling style, snow-white walls and an occasional punch of colour, the carefully considered decor simply compliments this harmonious home. The open plan living area means preparing supper is a sociable affair, filled with chatter and laughter. The highly polished floor downstairs is cooling under foot when the temperatures rise, but with underfloor heating too, ensures all is cosy and warm on those chillier days.

Sleeping six and with parking for two cars, ideally located in the heart of St Buryan, the village shop for all your essentials and the St Buryan Inn are close by. Pop into the pub for a welcomed drink, dine out for the evening, or order a tasty pizza to enjoy back at home. With their helpful on-site butcher, St Buryan Farm Shop sells local meats, home grown vegetables and even home cooked ready meals, so you don't have to venture far to pick up all you need. Fill your picnic basket with pasties, quiche and cream teas, before heading out for a countryside ramble. After an evening in the garden under a glittering night sky, sink into the large corner sofa for a game of cards before bedtime. With the little ones tucked up, enjoy a glass of wine or two before retiring to the four poster bed. No.2 The Allotments is a special home that you will want to return to, year after year.

Holidays in St Buryan

For those looking to explore the west of Cornwall, the pretty village of St Buryan has plenty of foothpaths, and is close to Sennen, Porthcurno, and the fishing ports of Mousehole, Penzance and Newlyn. St Buryan is a truly peaceful place, set amongst farmland and home to a traditional Cornish community.

The centre of the village is dominated by the Grade I listed church,  which features the heaviest peal of six bells anywhere in the world! The church has the tallest tower in the area and if you’re lucky enough to be there on Tower Open Day and the weather is fine, you can see for miles.

While self catering in St Buryan, be sure to take a visit to the St Buryan Inn; a traditional county pub, serving up good pub food in a relaxed atmosphere, with a selection of Cornish ales on offer. There's also a corner shop for all your essentials whilst staying in a holiday cottage in St Buryan.

The parish is scattered with neolithic activity, such as the Merry Maiden stone circle, The Pipers standing stones, many burial chambers and ancient holy wells. Read more on the history of the area on our blog: West Penwith - Through the ages

Top tip

Be sure to pack your walking boots as St Buryan has fantastic footpaths.

Things to do in St Buryan

St Buryan is well situated to take advantage of the popular tourist attractions such as the Minack Theatre and St Michael's Mount.

Be sure to visit the nearby St Loy's Cove; a rocky beach which is accessed through a beautiful wooded valley. It's nearly always quiet too, making it great for taking in the surroundings in a peaceful location.

With all this in mind it is easy to see why this popular tourist destination is perfect for a self catering summer holiday, short break or out-of-season visit.
