Avalon is in a great location and the downstairs kitchen/dining area is so good and makes for a very social area when preparing meals. We’ve stayed in many properties over the last 10 years+ in St Ives and this is one we would be happy to come back to and stay in again.

My feedback would be not to unload in Teetotal Street but in the road before as it takes you directly to the first floor avoiding taking luggage up the first set of stairs You would need to enter by Teetotal street to open the other door Parking on the road to load or unload is not a problem as both roads are quiet Good location for beaches and town

Returned to this lovely cottage for a second time. Perfect location for exploring all of St Ives delights.

Our first Christmas away from home and we booked a holiday for our family of 5 and our dog with Aspects. 2 days prior to our arrival, the cottage we were due to stay in suffered a water leak so was unable to be let out. Aspects called us with alternative cottages, ensuring it had everything we required and so much more. We stayed at Avalon and it was amazing! We arrived to a gift bag full of lovely local food, drink and doggy treats. Unfortunately, the WIFI broke prior to our arrival, however, Aspects made sure there was a mini WIFI plug in for us until the new router arrived. The property had a Christmas tree in the lounge all set up. The property was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It was a short walk from the town and a stone throw from the beach. Although it was not the property we originally chose, we loved our Christmas stay here and would defiantly book again.

Great location. Lovely cottage. Big TVs everywhere which is super!

Great service from aspects, they responded quickly to any issues we had. The house is a great layout and the location is perfect for the town and beaches. The house itself is in need of a bit of an update, there were a few missing or broken items in the kitchen for example. No major issues, just not quite as well maintained as our stay there the previous year.

Thank you for your feedback. A lot can happen to properties and the items in it over a very busy season, so us and the owners really appreciate the information so that we can address these things, as there can be a bit of time in between visits to the property. We have passed your comments straight on to the owner and we will be inspecting the property soon, so will be sure to pay particular attention to these areas. Tanya, Customer Services

A very conveniently located little 3-bed house, 2 mins walk (if you walk slowly) to the beaches and the harbour front. It has all you need including a couple of smart TVs connected to internet so you can connect to your Netflix/Amazon etc movie channels. Nice and clean with comfortable bedding and lovely to have essential kitchen supplies provided as well (washing liquid, washing machine and dishwasher detergents, tea towels, cloths) and also tea, coffee and milk left for us in the fridge. Seagulls a bit noisy but that’s what you get at the seaside. Felt a comfortable and safe place to stay. Very close to the amenities and social things on, but quiet and peaceful too. Watch out for very steep and narrow stairs in these little fisherman cottages! This one has two bathrooms with showers. One bathroom has a dinky/compact bath / shower with seat design. Excellent for children and to wash your pet.

A lovely family property. The first flight of stairs are not for the faint hearted or elderly but overall a great place to stay in St Ives

We are glad that you liked it here. Many of the traditional Cornish cottages in fishing villages like St Ives, have steeper stairs and quirkier layouts than what a lot of us are used to in more modern homes. We include a note on the website to warn of the stairs in this property, as it may be an important consideration for some. We hope that it worked well for all your family and hopefully we will see you back in Cornwall again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

We stayed in Avalon during the October half term, its a lovely cottage right in the heart of St Ives for a family spread over three floors. A large ground floor kitchen with a sofa and Smart TV on the wall, first floor lounge again with Smart TV and bunk room with a shower room, two further bedrooms on the top floor with a further shower room. Its close enough to unload and reload from the Island Carpark without the need to move the car and pretty much everything in St Ives is only 5 minutes away. Would recommend the cottage and would happily stay again, just bear in mind the stairs are narrow and steep like most cottages in Downalong

We had a great stay at Avalon, the location is perfect for the beaches and town. Property is well equipped and had plenty of space for us. Have booked again for next year!

Great house, home from home.

A lovely comfy house that felt like a home from home. We loved the little touches like the blankets and the padded hangers and the bed was super comfy too. The sofa in the kitchen was a fab idea and we used that probably more than the lounge in the end. The location was so quiet and we slept really well during the whole stay. Within a few minutes in any direction were all of our favourite spots in St Ives and we thoroughly enjoyed the Festival during our first week and went home with more art as usual. A great place for a 2 week stay.

Great holiday in Avalon. Super location, comfy beds, cosy spotless cottage.

House is right in the heart of Downalong so easy to go anywhere. Lovely set-up, with great facilities in the house. We were only 2 and it looks to accommodate 5 which could have been tight i guess, but lots of seating and big kitchen table. Well equipped kitchen, if you are so inclined, but we feasted on Pasties, Thai, Fish & Chips etc. you are really spoilt for choice in the town. If you like a dawn alarm call from the very active seagulls then leave your window open (oh and watch out for them if your snacking on the sea front, they will happily steal your food out of your hand. Note: Parking demands patience and a keen eye, as there are far more cars than spaces, but we did get a space eventually though.

The cottage was in an ideal location, close to everything. Lovely friendly neighbourhood. The amenities were good and the bed was so comfortable. Will definately be visiting beautiful St Ives again.

We booked very last minute , on the day of arrival in fact. Aspects were very accommodating and made booking easy . Avalon cottage was centrally located in the Down along area of st ives . The cottage was comfortable and everything you needed for a weeks stay . I would say the pillows need replacing on the beds as quite uncomfortable , the stairs are steep which is common in these cottages not a problem for us but maybe someone with walking difficulties would struggle . but generally everything else fine . Would book again through aspects

Thank you for your helpful feedback; we have let the owners know so that they can replace the pillows. Being a traditional St Ives fisherman's cottage, they are often a little smaller and layouts/stairs more quirky and steeper than in more modern buildings, but packed full of character. We always try to be as open and honest as possible and try to give an accurate representation of properties within our photos and description, so we hope that we have achieved that in this case. We are delighted to hear that you liked Avalon and its fantastic location and thank you again for taking the time to send in your comments. Tanya, Customer Services.

Lovely cottage, perfect location for everything that St Ives offers. Parked the car up for the week and didn’t need to use again. The cottage had everything we needed. Plenty of space and furniture comfortable.

We had a lovely week at Avalon in August 2020. The cottage is beautiful and decorated in a shabby chic style, with some really nice quirky touches such as vintage mirrors and Lloyd Loom style bedside tables. The living room in particular on the first floor is really comfy and nicely decorated, as are the upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped and the cottage is deceptively spacious, our family comprises 3 adults, an adult sized teenager and an eight year old, and there was more than enough room for us all. The accommodation over three floors also allowed everyone to have their own space when we weren't all together. It was really nice to have the history of the cottages explained in the welcome pack too. There are no views from the windows given the street layout of these former fishermans cottages but we knew this in advance, and its a perfectly fair trade off to be located so close to Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches, the harbour and the town. We'd definitely recommend Avalon and Aspect Holidays, and will hopefully visit again soon.

Fantastic cosy holiday home, really great layout, we really loved the sofa and TV downstairs within the kitchen diner, great for family time??. Practical tile floor also good as they welcome a dog here. Very well equipped for cooking /dining in and this cottage has a lounge and second TV upstairs and 2 bathroom options, which is great with a family . Beds are very comfortable and the bedding and towels supplied for all were excellent, all our family had a thoughly enjoyable relaxing week, the cottage is spacious and so well placed that once you finally get a parking space in the island carpark ( deep breath...and patience rqd) park up and leave your car, it's just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage and you really don't need your car in St ives, you can leave the cottage, walk out the front door and you are just minutes away from the harbour, shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries and more along with several great beaches ( which we and our dog loved ????) there is a fantastic shop a very short stroll from Avalon, selling freshly baked pastries and newspapers as well as your usual supplies and if you need a bigger shop, Tesco's delivers, as I'm sure others do. Fantastic week had by all, we would recommend this lovely cottage, with its relaxing and cosy atmosphere, great comphy furniture and central location! Truly fab!

Lovely, cottage in the Heart of St. Ives, clean comfortable and welcoming! A goodsize Kitchen/Diner with everything needed for a family of five. Great base to enjoy all that St. Ives has to offer

Great cottage we stayed with our 2 children and our dog. It was greatly placed for the beaches and was nice an quiet in the evenings.

The property needs a general overhaul- it looks shabby chic on a very tight budget- white goods look old and tired. Extra blankets need to be provided and additional heater available for the very cold weather. Location is excellent, customers may need to know that there are no views from any aspect of the property- ground floor room only has a tiny window so quite dark. We have stayed in other fishermen’s cottages in the past and it was atmospheric and cosy. This property lacks character and warmth

We are very sorry to hear that not everything was as you had hoped it would be, but would like to reassure you that, as discussed with you since receiving this feedback, the comments have been passed on to the owner of Avalon who is as a result replacing a number of items. We are sorry if views had been expected; this property is in the heart of Downalong, and as you quite rightly point out, does not have any views, so is certainly something to be aware of if you are wanting to stay somewhere that takes advantage of some of the lovely sea views on offer. Thanks again for getting in contact. Tanya, Customer Services

Lovely cosy cottage with nice lay out perfect for a family -close to all the beaches and the harbour. Perfect holiday home - will definitely come again.

We had a great stay at Avalon. The location is great and the property had everything we needed for a lovely holiday

Avalon was spotlessley clean. Extremeley well equipped, lovely comfy beds. The location was very quiet as not on a through road, but accessible for beaches & town. Our 3yr old Grandson loved the house with the 'secret staircase' ! Had to hire a baby gate though, would be handy if one in situ. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay with great weather.

Good position. 2 bathrooms is very good as is 2 tvs. Very nicely decorated well stocked kitchen.
