Great lovely property within town, with the addition of a private parking space a two minute walk away. Perfect for the fur baby to reach the island for his little runabouts, for reaching beaches and the town without the thought of tackling any steep steps or hills, will definitely be booking again,

Steeped in history, Downalong is a timeless haven that captures the fishing heritage and thriving art community of this enchanting area of St Ives. With all that St Ives has to offer on your doorstep, spend endless days exploring the sandy shores, stunning coastal paths and bustling harbourside.
Downalong is a historic Cornish term for an area of harbourside fisherman's cottages 'down along the harbour'?

Mrs Birks May 2024
Absolute one for the re-visit list as a lovely place with that cosy holiday vibe. Everything you need and everything on your doorstep including the beaches. Fabulous! Thanks Aspects

Great place
Mr Barton Mar 2024
Excellent property .ideal location .would definitely recommend and would book again . Car parking space a real bonus
Mr Cooper Mar 2024
The Lugger is an excellent choice for a couple wanting to spend a few days in the centre of St Ives. It is a short walk from the main harbour and even closer to Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches. The property comes with a permit for the residents car park which is super handy, especially in the high season. Aspects Holidays are very attentive from the time you book and their communication is excellent, we had a little problem with a fuse and they were straight onto it. As with any building of its age you have to be a bit careful if you are on the taller side and remember to duck as you go under the joist in the living room. It all worked out well for us and we would certainly use it again.
Mr Corbett Feb 2024
Another lovely stay, beautifully clean and cosy, we love staying here but a sofa would be slightly more comfortable than the two armchairs. Super handy for everywhere, great location :)

Thank you for your lovely comments following your stay at The Lugger, Burrow Road. We can appreciate how having two armchairs instead of a sofa may not suit all guests, but we will certainly pass your feedback along to the owner of the property to take into consideration for future improvements, and we'll keep an eye on any future comments on this. Katy, Customer Services.
Great location, with the added bonus of a close by parking space. Nice, clean apartment - very compact but fine for a couple.
Definitely be aware that if people are staying in the apartment above, you will be disturbed by the noise of them moving around (especially if they have children that wake at 6.30am every morning!)

Thanks for the helpful feedback, we are glad you enjoyed the location with the added bonus of a parking space just down the road; something that comes in particularly handy in St. Ives. Whilst apartments can come with a risk of hearing some noise from adjoining properties, it can be very subjective from one guest to another, depending on what you may be used to or indeed needing from your experience here, and with different guests in the apartment each week, there will be many times you will not be aware of people upstairs at all. We were sorry to hear if this was not what you had expected and if it was noisier than what would be the norm there. We do hope you still enjoyed your time over the New Year. Phoebe, Customer Services
A warm and cosy little apartment, close to galleries, restaurants and shops - good for a winter break.
Ms Brazier Dec 2023

Mr Pike Sep 2023
Situated ideally in a quiet but very convenient location. Beautiful and cosy fisherman’s cottage/apartment equipped to the highest standard for a relaxing week away in a beautiful setting
Mrs Vanes Sep 2023
Great location for town and beaches.
Mrs Lacey Aug 2023
My fourth time at this lovely little apartment. So conveniently situated for beaches, town and walks and of course the very nearby parking space is a brilliant asset. Aspects,as always, are so easy to deal with from booking to leaving.
Mrs Drinkwater Jun 2023
We (2) of us had a perfect stay at the lugger,so cosy with a comfy bed,2 tvs,washer/dryer an added bonus also car park place a godsend .Lovely place .Already booked for nxt yr
Mr Martin Jun 2023
Just returned from a bank holiday stay at the Lugger, first stay and the property was lovely and in a great location. We booked the property due to travelling with our little toy poodle and the place was well located to surrounding beaches, the town and the added bonus of a dedicated parking space minutes away. Would recommend the property and would return.
Mrs Corbett May 2023
Nice property that is small but good layout. Quite alot of street noise and thin ceilings meant quite alot of noise from upstairs Facilities good and ultra convenient parking space…

We are glad to hear that you liked this property and the very convenient parking that comes with it. There are not many properties right in the heart of the town with parking so close by, so it is a huge bonus. The property is small, but we hope that that was made clear enough in the photos, and with the very quirky arrangements of these cottages in the town, it is quite common to have properties above, below, or partially overlapping. It is something that many find quite charming, though it is worth bearing in mind that like any apartment or semi-detached property, noise can transfer between properties, and with that central location, a common route for people to walk between the beaches and from beach to cafes and so on, there will be a lot of footfall outside as well. However, this location means that you can park up your car for the entire time that you are here and within minutes, you can walk to all the beaches of St Ives, all the lovely cafes and restaurants, shops, and galleries, so we do hope that you enjoyed it. Another lovely stay here, perfect location and parking space very close by. Very well equipped, super cosy, our second visit and coming back again next year, can't wait!

Excellent
Mr Shelley Dec 2022
Overall not a bad accommodation but a bit on the small side, but this is st ives and they are cottage conversions so pretty much what we expected but the floor did need cleaning.

Situated in the heart of Downalong, The Lugger is a cosy bolthole perfect for couples, or solo trips, to St Ives. The traditional style of cottage often means that these properties can be a little smaller, but they are still packed full of character. We try to give an accurate representation within our photos, and we hope we've achieved this. It's such a shame that we didn't know about the floor needing cleaning at the beginning of your stay, as we would have been more than happy to get the housekeeper back to address this so that your visit could get back on track. We hope to welcome you back to St Ives soon. Katy, Customer Services.
Perfect bolt holt for 2 ( really cosy and well equipped ) great location to the harbour and our favourite porthgwidden beach . Bonus parking space takes the stress away from “ will we find one” You can hear others holidaying in the above apartment ( so if you a light sleeper may not be good for you ) it is just the age of the apartment .. We will definitely stay again ..

Thank you for your feedback following your stay at The Lugger, we're so pleased you enjoyed the great location, as well as the parking space. We are so sorry that you experienced noise from the apartment above. Whilst apartments can come with a risk of hearing some noise from adjoining properties, this is not something that has been raised as an issue previously, but with differing guests in the apartment upstairs each week, we would hope that what you experienced was a one-off. It sounds like you enjoyed everything else about it and that location is certainly hard to beat, so we hope that this didn't take the shine off it for you. Katy, Customer Service.
A very comfortable bolt hole with easy access to the town and beaches with quality restaurants nearby with car parking a very welcome bonus
Mr Ward Sep 2022
Great location with parking. Only downside is that you have drive through the harbour area to reach the parking space every time you venture out
The accommodation is well equipped but the kitchen area is very dark and needs more lighting.
Overall it’s reasonable value for money but think it’s reached it ceiling cost wise

Unfortunately, many of the traditional fishing villages here in Cornwall were not designed for today's traffic, and with the one-way system in that area, whether parking was right outside the property or in its current location, a few minutes from the property, you would still need to go through the harbour. Other permit car parks or private rented spaces, whilst avoiding the one-way system, would be much further away from the property, so the owners hoped that this would be the most convenient option for their guests. We hope that you still found is useful. The owners have added a good number of spotlights in the kitchen/sitting area, as it only has natural light from the front door and some light coming through from the bedroom, but we will pass on your feedback to the owner in case they may consider additional lighting. Thank you for taking the time to send in your feedback and we hope that you enjoyed your time here. Tanya, Customer Services
Great accommodation & beautifully presented added to the ideal location your holiday couldn't ask for more. The properties own reserved parking which is just a very short walk away is a real bonus. Easy access to beaches, shops & restaurants whilst having a calm & quiete retreat.
Mr Ford Jun 2022
We have stayed here at the Lugger a few times now over the years and it never disappoints, great location and very cosy .??
Mrs Gilmore May 2022
perfect little cottage, ideal location for beaches and harbour walks , great for our four legged fur baby, parking space an absolute essential and only a few minutes away,... looking forward to our return next year,
Mr Pike May 2022
A lovely little snug property for two, very close to all beaches and town centre. The reserved parking was very close so allowed luggage to be easily carried to car so as not to block the narrow street outside property.
The nearby beach cafe served excellent filled rolls, coffee etc which were a joy to eat overlooking the beach.
All highly recommended........do try this property????????
Mr Jones Apr 2022
This snug apartment lives up to expectations, being well fitted out with up-to-date kitchen and shower room furnishings. Conveniently located for Porth Gwidden beach (wonderful for swimming) and giving easy access to Porthmeor and the harbour. The allocated car space nearby is a real boon in crowded St Ives. We would use it again if we seek these features in future. Very good for two persons.
Mr Mears Mar 2022

A wonderful stay for our little one’s first holiday (3 months old)! Great location for popping in and out; ideal with a baby and enough space for her cot next to the bed! Cosy accommodation which felt luxurious too and fab facilities for cooking .. and a washer dryer which was super handy! We will definitely recommend to others!
Mrs Jarman May 2019
Perfect retreat to come back to after lots of walking and close enough to all the beaches to pop back and make a picnic lunch to take back to the beach !
Mrs Gilmore May 2019
Enjoyed a fabulous week's stay at 'The Lugger!' Enjoyed being so close to Porthgwidden beach, our dog loved his early morning and evening walks to see the seals! The parking permit included is a real plus point. We found the cottage a quiet, cosy bolthole, well designed and with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We'd swap the armchairs for a comfy sofa though! Thank you to Aspects for another fab holiday!
Mrs Williamson Mar 2019
Lovely small ground floor accommodation 5 mins walk from all the essential places in St Ives.(beaches, station, shops etc) Perfect for a couple. Parking space is a couple of mins walk from accommodation. Permit provided People with larger cars will struggle with access, but to be fair that is not specific to the property. They will struggle anywhere within St Ives as the roads are very tight.
Mr Ainley Dec 2018
Fantastic location, well equipped modern property with the added benefit of parking close by.
Mrs Sherris Oct 2018
The Lugger is a really lovely pet friendly little bolt hole in an excellent location. Would recommend.

Mr Wood Jul 2018
Beautiful little cottage in a fantastic location!
Mrs Wallbanks May 2018
You gave us out of date parking permit... it expired on 31st March, we only noticed it on the last day.
Ms Kelly Apr 2018
Reply from Aspects Holidays
We are sorry if this caused any concern. Unfortunately the council had a huge backlog, so hadn't sent out new parking permits before these ones were due to expire. They had confirmed that these would still be valid until the new ones arrived. We had tried to warn any guest that would be affected by this, so we are very sorry if you had not got this message. We hope that you enjoyed your stay at The Lugger. Tanya, Customer services
Will recommend The Lugger and will revisit ourselves soon..
Mr Nock Jan 2018
Great cottage for couples taking a short break.
Ms Edwards Oct 2017
Excellent small cottage, perfect for 2. Very comfortable with everything you could need in the kitchen and a lovely bathroom and superb shower. Allocated parking space was a 5 minute walk away a real bonus in St Ives.
Mr Merrick Oct 2017
Lovely place to stay, modern and cosy. The bed was so comfortable and the best I’ve ever slept in. However, this place needs a sofa instead of the armchairs for when you want a night in.
Mrs Roper Oct 2017
Beautifully equipped and the welcome gifts and flowers were a very nice touch. In a really convenient location which means you can enjoy St Ives and all its amenities without needing to use a car at all.
Mrs Bowen Oct 2017

Mrs Girdler Oct 2017
