This was our third stay at 8 The View. Lovely as ever. One of the best bits is the first cup of tea of the day in that fabulous top floor bedroom with perfect views of the sea and St Ives harbour.

Many of our holiday cottages in Porthminster boast magnificent sea views and are mere moments from the soft sands and turquoise waters of the beach. Whilst the vibrant heart of St Ives harbourside is just a short walk away. Porthminster is perfectly placed for an unforgettable family holiday by the sea. Read more about holidays in St Ives here.
Indulge in lunch with a view at Porthminster Beach Cafe.

Many positives. Property is generally clean, well-located and has fantastic views, especially from the top bedroom. The parking spaces in the underground garage are really useful.
The kitchen needs some minor attention to justify the premium label in our opinion, for instance there were just two saucepans (unmatched), a pot and two frying pans for us to use. We did note that there were four lids so presumably some saucepans had been discarded. I would also ask the owner to consider tiling a splashback behind the hob and on the wall close to the bin and dishwasher. Nespresso was temperamental as well.
You can certainly hear the road outside, but this did not affect our enjoyment, plus the doors are heavy duty and the house is well-designed so that all the bedrooms are at the back (quiet side).
It is nice to have a 'garden' but as noted in the description, it isn't very big or at all private.

We had a really good week at 8 The View. On arrival, the parking and unpacking was very easy with no steps involved, and a good sized, covered and secured parking bay. There is plenty of hanging space and storage for unpacking, and a greetings pack was found in the well equipped kitchen. The house is very spacious, light and airy with a large outdoor space and bifold doors, (need to read the instructions) All furnishings are good quality and comfortable. Out and about, the coast path is just around the corner, and can be followed down to Porthminster beach and the town, with stunning views, or in the other direction, walk along Hain Walk and the path to Carbis Bay. It is very easy to make trips out by car from this location if you can think of anywhere better to be.
MR Gregory Oct 2023
Amazing views and location for a large group to stay. Perfect spot for walkers, as directly on coastal path to Carbis bay.
Mrs Dudbridge Sep 2023
Lovely cottage on the outskirts of St Ives, close enough to enjoy the sea views and be in town quickly but far away enough to venture further without having to navigate traffic.
Very well equipped and stunning house with lovely furnishings and utensils.
Great sea views throughout all rooms.
We loved the treats on arrival -thank you Aspects.

Wonderful house with amazing views. A real pleasure to be there.

8 The View, Portminster is a lovely spacious clean, and well equipped property. Excellent secure parking for 2 vehicles. All rooms at the back have sea views. Fantastic views from top floor bedroom across roof tops to St Ives. Steep Climb up and down to Portminster Beach, but well worth it, as beautiful sandy beach and turquoise sea.
Mrs Downey Aug 2023
Great location and views of the bay. Good family house. Lovely walk down to Porthminster beach and the town.
Ms Harrison Aug 2023
Enjoyed a relaxing stay at 8 The View. Accommodation very comfortable, modern and fresh. Ideally located for the short walk to Portminster beach or stroll into St Ives town centre. Top floor bedroom had excellent views. Secure underground parking for 2 mid sized vehicles. I would recommend 8 The View and would consider it a good option for a future stay in St Ives.
Mr Beard Aug 2023
A really well appointed holiday home. All you could need in the kitchen. Beds were all comfortable. Location was fabulous as a short, albeit hilly, walk into St Ives. Lovely views both out to sea and towards St Ives harbour. Underground parking was also beneficial in a busy town such as St Ives. Would recommend this property for a fab holiday in Porthminster.
Mrs Chambers Jul 2023
Really enjoyed our stay at 8 the view. The property is stunning and just what you expect after seeing the photos. Lots of kitchen equipment to use, really comfortable beds and beautiful views what more could you want. You can catch the bus from St ives bus station back to directly outside the property which is much better than the walk up the hill in my opinion as is a little steep. We took our fire stick to watch films on the tv which is a good tip if you have one or something similar. The catch on the bifold doors broke whilst we were there but was sorted very quickly by Aspects with no inconvenience to us. Had a lovely stay, would definitely recommend and would definitely return.
Mr Griffiths Aug 2022
8 The view was perfect for our family group. 10 minutes walk to St Ives, 30 minutes to Carbis bay.,
Mrs Lupson Jul 2022
The house was absolutely stunning, the pictures actually do not reflect how beautiful it is until you see that view in real time. Great size for a family, 4 adults, 2 children, 3 bathrooms. Enough that you aren't falling over each other and have your own space. Perfect week away, no issues when we were there. The house is spotless, and everything is to a high standard. The arrival information from Aspects was great. Parking was fab, and secure. St Ives is hilly though so just be aware of that, and the house is located further out so the walk into the town is around 15mins down, harder coming back up the hill though. It wasn't enough to put me off, but my mum who is 65 struggled a bit with the walk back. Overall it was a fantastic week, in stunning surroundings and we would return.
Mrs Beaumont Jul 2022
This house is my dream house! The location is perfect, just above Porthminster beach. It’s so peaceful. The views are to die for. The house is immaculate and the home furnishing were very high spec. The underfloor parking is great. You can pop out and not have to worry about getting a parking space. There was a welcome pack of scones and tea and coffee etc. The beds were extremely comfortable. Honestly I cannot recommend staying in this house enough. If I win the lottery I’m buying it haha.
Mrs Byrne Jun 2022
Fantastic place to stay, beautifully designed interior. Clean and great location. Master bed suite was fantastic. Only downside is there wasn’t a high chair, plates, cups etc for children.
Mrs Jelf Apr 2022
The property fully met our expectations: well equipped, in good condition with lots of space and in an excellent location. Loved the view of St Ives from the master bedroom
Mr Bradshaw Oct 2021
We loved our weeks stay at 8 The View… Location was very good for st ives cafe/restaurants and beaches. We also liked walking along the coastal path to Carbis bay beach . The property had everything we needed .
Just a minor criticism, the TV in the lounge could be upgraded to a smart TV .
The owners have a beautiful property and will definitely book again !!
Mrs Carroll Oct 2021
8 The View is a really lovely property, very well equipped. The decor is lovely and it has everything you will need. It looks over Portminster beach, which means walking up hills a lot but that is part of visiting St Ives. The view from the top floor bedroom is especially beautiful. This is a very comfortable property, they have thought of everything. We will definitely stay here again.
Ms Cookson Oct 2021
We stayed at 8 The View, last week and had the most fantastic time. The location is perfect, with two handy car spaces. We walked into St Ives every evening. There is so much to do and the town has so much to offer.
The owners have covered every luxury you can think of. Comfy beds and bedding, washer drier, dishwasher. Lovely plates and cutlery and furnishings. The scones, cream and jam was a nice touch along with a bottle of milk in the fridge. The place is amazing and the views are stunning. We would watch the boats in the bay and the view of the lighthouse is beautiful. There is ample space for all guests with every special touch being thought of. The bathrooms are new, spotlessly clean and overall we had a fantastic week.
The area itself is stunning. The beaches are beautiful and St Ives itself has so much to offer. We did book up all of our restaurants to eat out months in advance which I would thoroughly recommend.
Looking to return next year..
Mrs ELLERTON Sep 2021
No.8, the View is a fabulous property. It is situated a few minutes walk out of town which has its advantages, especially if like us you want to explore the surrounding areas without having to negotiate the busy little roads in the town itself. It sits just above the path between Porthminster and Carbis Bay, which is lovely for an early morning walk to either beach. Being outside of town also means you don't wake up to the (very) early seagull dawn chorus!
The property is beautifully and very tastefully appointed with everything you need (and more) and lots and lots of space. The secure underground parking is a huge bonus too.
I have to mention the master bedroom on the top floor. This is pure luxury with one of the best views over the bay I have ever seen. Waking up here is a treat! Accommodation like this makes you feel special!
The walk into town is roughly 10 minutes to Porthminster if you take the direct but steep path in front of the property. Or, if you take the main road, about 15 minutes to the bus station at the Malakoff.
We loved this property and will definitely return.
