Shopping in St Ives
From books to jewellery to freshly made food, shopping in St Ives is a Cornish tradition thanks to the cobbled streets and independent shops that line them.
The Hideaway is beautifully presented and situated, as the name suggests, in a hidden and peaceful area, in Pearce's Court in Bedford Place. the outside space is a sun trap and ideal for barbecues and al fresco dining. This area is also enclosed, so is perfect for your pooch. You'll feel totally secluded, but within a ten minute walk you can be standing on the harbour front, pasty in hand, or dipping your toes in the sea.
There's so much to do and see in St Ives and the surrounding area, you'll be spoilt for choice - numerous beautiful beaches with golden sands, all within walking distance, coastal paths to explore with your pet and some of the best restaurants you can find. The Hideaway really is a great base to enjoy them all with ease.
one step up to front door leading to:
three sofas, Smart TV/DVD.
table with seating for six, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, ceramic hob, electric oven.
double bed.
twin beds.
shower, WC, basin.
table with four chairs and a bench, utility room with washing machine and coal barbecue.
king size bed, TV, en suite with shower, WC and basin.
gas central heating, outside tap ideal for washing wetsuits, the annexe is separate from the cottage so is not suitable for young children. St Ives is surrounded by sea & the climatic conditions create some dampness, which may be noticeable during winter months within the cottage and annexe, access is needed through the courtyard area by neighbours. Although the property sleeps 6, if looking for more living area space it maybe better suited to parties of 5, please note the fire is decorative only, WiFi, 2 well behaved dogs welcome, short breaks available.
Another great stay at the hideaway. A great place to go and escape. Close to all beaches and the shops. One of our favourite cottages to stay in whilst in St Ives.

Great little property, if arriving late at night it’s maybe a good idea to find out where the property is as it’s not called the hideaway for nothing ! Very poor lighting leading to the property, not too good for the elderly

We are so pleased you enjoyed your time at The Hideaway. As you have said it lives up to its name, tucked away in a quiet and tranquil part of St Ives. You wouldn't know that all the hustle and bustle of the town is just moments away, while sitting in the courtyard enjoying your morning coffee listening to the sounds of the seaside. Thank you for your feedback regarding the approach lighting, we have not had this reported before, but we will certainly pass your feedback along to the owner for them to take into future consideration. Katy, Customer Services.
Lovely, well situated property, ideal for family beak in St Ives.

I would recommend doing your research and trusting your gut instinct. I wish I had. St Ives is a beautiful place though.

We are sorry that The Hideaway did not reach your expectations, and we can completely understand how inconvenient it was to only have use of one shower in the annexe for the first few days of your stay. We worked with the owners to get the main house shower fixed as soon as possible, and we did our best to keep disruption to a minimum. Please know all of your suggestions and observations have been passed to the owners for future improvements, and the property will be undergoing its annual inspection, too. We very much hope we can welcome you back to St Ives soon. Katy, Customer Services.
A great family cottage, close to all that is st Ives. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again soon.

We have stayed at Bedford place twice now and it will be our first choice on any return visit to St ives. The cottage is full of character and in a really peaceful location despite also being central. The annex is brilliant for giving people their own space and the outside area is lovely for an evening drink or bbq.
Mrs Newman Jun 2023
Excellent accommodation and brilliant service from Aspects. The Hideaway cottage was clean and tidy with good outdoor space. The internal shower is small and with a high step to get in and out which may not suit anyone not steady on their feet. Overall highly recommended.
Mr Giles Jun 2023
Stayed Easter week 2 adults , 2 teens and dog. Perfectly situated within a few minutes walking distance of beaches and shops, yet tucked away in a quiet area . Perfect with a dog as there are no passers by and it’s silent at night.
Loved the separate annex , it gives that little bit more space and privacy for families . Cleaned well throughout and nicely decorated. The doors on both the cottage and annex are the type that lock shut . So be mindful of this . Our daughter stepped out the annex and the wind blew it shut . She’d left the keys inside . Luckily , aspects were amazing as always and sent a handyman out 7pm on the evening to the rescue haha . We would happily stay here again .

This is my second visit to The Hideaway and I'll book again as it has everything you need for a great holiday base. It is near to shops but is in a very quiet location, which is great if you have dogs. It offers excellent accommodation and was warm and cosy in November. Having a seperate annex with shower room/toilet is an added bonus.
Miss Ravenscroft Nov 2022
This is our second time at the property and we’ve already booked to return. The location is great, it’s a well maintained property and perfectly served the needs of me, my husband, our 2 boys, the dog and my sister-in-law (who the annex was ideal for). We can’t wait to come back next year.
Mrs Southall Nov 2022
Great location - quiet but so close to everything! Loved the enclosed courtyard for my dogs (first trip to St Ives at NY as dog owners) Really well maintained property. Comfy beds, cosy duvets, warm and homely cottage! Gas fire a real bonus feature. This is my 3rd time staying in St Ives for new year and I have to say this is the best property so far! We wanted to book again for next year but it was already booked up - that speaks for itself.
Miss Doyle Jan 2022
Great house to stay in we love it ...
Mrs Kelly Aug 2021
We absolutely loved our stay at the Hideaway. The cottage is very pretty and characterful, and the location is perfect- central in the town yet tucked away so is very peaceful. The outside space was lovely to make use of in the evenings, and the annex was brilliant for giving myself and my husband, and my father in law, each our own space. We would have booked it again for next year but sadly its booked already
Mrs Newman Jun 2021
Lovely comfortable cosy cottage with access to private courtyard for alfresco dining or enjoying a drink in the nicer weather.
Easy access to local shops and beaches to enjoy the perfect holiday.
Mrs Jones May 2021
Great property, Great Location with a separate annex, look forward to rebooking next year
Mr Szabo Sep 2020
Another end of year relaxing holiday in this fantastic cottage. It’s in a quiet little corner of St Ives but in a couple of minutes you are on Fore Street savouring everything St Ives has to offer. We will be back!
Mr Palmer Jan 2020
‘Hideaway’ No4 is a well presented, comfortable, tranquil cottage well positioned for everything @ St Ives. We would recommend it & would stay there again ourselves!
Mr Sankey Sep 2019
We really enjoyed our stay at the hideaway, it was well equipped, tidy, comfortable and in a fantastic location. We will be returning.
Ms Beane Aug 2019
The Hideaway is in a great location, quiet and within a 5 minute walk downhill to the harbour in St Ives. We particularly liked having the annexe for our parents to use which is opposite the cottage and shares the courtyard which is a nice sunny area. The cottage was very well equipped and we loved that it was dog friendly too. My only disappointment was that I didn’t personally find the mattress in the main bedroom to be very comfortable. Overall I would recommend a stay here at The Hideaway though to enjoy the beauty of St Ives.

It certainly sounds like The Hideaway worked perfectly for all of your family; it was great to hear. It can be very difficult to find a mattress that will suit everyone and it is disappointing to hear that the main bedroom mattress was not to your preference. For now, we will monitor comments to keep an eye on guest’s preferences over the coming months. Thanks for letting us know. Tanya, Customer Services
Another superb holiday managed by the team at Aspects. The service provided is top notch. The cottage location was perfect for a quiet holiday, yet close enough to the shops and restaurants. We will be back!
Mr Palmer Jan 2019
Don't think my comments would help to "sell" The Hideaway.

Thank for your feedback. We are really sorry if there were any areas that were not up to the high standard that you would expect. The property owner has received your feedback and confirmed that any kitchen utensils that need replacing, will be replaced straight away and confirmed that all pillows should have been memory foam, that were only recently purchased, so shouldn't have been lumpy; but they will have these looked at straight away and dispose of and replace any that need replacing. We are sorry that this was not 100% for your stay, but hope that you can see that your feedback has been acted upon. Thank you for letting us know. Tanya, Customer Services.
A pleasant cottage with outside space which made it a very good holiday and the location was great - only a couple of minutes to the harbour.
