Shopping in St Ives
From books to jewellery to freshly made food, shopping in St Ives is a Cornish tradition thanks to the cobbled streets and independent shops that line them.
Perfectly placed within easy walking distance of the town's best beaches and vibrant harbourfront is Porthside. In a quiet, yet central position, tucked away on St Andrews Street, the apartment sits just back from the seafront, so you'll be on the sand or in the cool blue water within minutes, ideal for your early morning dip! Once inside, you'll feel immediately welcomed with soft blue tones and tasteful furnishings inviting you to ease into laid-back coastal living. With a fabulous open plan living area boasting stunning views right over the bay, it's from here that you can take in the ever-changing colours of the sea, or while away the hours away with a good book, all from the comfort of the sofa. Guests have the choice of two cosy bedrooms, both providing a restful haven for peaceful nights rest after taking in the Cornish Sea air. Porthminster Beach can be found in just under a 5 minute walk, where its turquoise waters cater for all, or for those relaxed warm summer evenings, the beach front bar is an idyllic place to unwind with a G&T while gazing out to sea.
from street level, one step into communal hallway and one flight of internal stairs leading up to the apartment front door, leading into:
induction hob and electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, breakfast bar with four stools, Smart TV, two seater sofa, two armchairs, sea views across to the harbour and St Ives Bay.
bath with shower over, WC and basin.
double bed, hanging pegs.
twin bed, hanging pegs.
electric panel heaters throughout, 20 internal steps lead up to apartment front door from a compact communal entrance, WiFi, short breaks available.
We had a lovely comfortable stay at Porthside. Perfect location and wonderful views - whatever the weather! The flat was warm and cosy and everything we needed was provided. Prompt and friendly communication with helpful Aspects staff. We would like to recommend the St Ives Brewery micro taproom on Fore Street. The best beer in St Ives, we thought, also very friendly and welcoming. Also recommend the Harbour Fish and Chips, good quality, good portions size, plenty of grilled fish options as well as fried, nice service too.

We loved our stay at Porthside! The view is the best we've had, & we've stayed in multiple properties over the 20 years we've been coming to St.Ives. Yes, the property is compact, and being in the heart of town there is street noise. But that view just makes everything better. We spent one stormy evening watching the waves crashing up over the sea wall whilst eating fish & chips! No need for TV!
