Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

A lovely property in a great location. The property was well equipped and very clean.

Location was excellent - 10 min walk to Mevagissey or Port Mellon and the coast path to Goran Haven. Car parking space. The sofa had a damp dog smell although pets are not allowed, perhaps it needs a clean. Big pillows, comfortable bed, but no space in bedroom. Overall - a really nice place to stay.

Thank you for your comments; we are glad to hear you liked the cottage and its fantastic location. Thank you for your feedback on the sofa, we will check on that and discuss an additional sofa clean to the owner if there is still a smell. It may be due after such a long, busy season. We have tried to show the room and sleeping arrangements as clearly as we can within the website photos, so we are sorry if this was not quite as you had expected. Thank you for the helpful comments and we hope to see you back soon. Lucy, Customer Services

Property is very nicely decorated, great shower, good quality bed linen, clean, well equipped kitchen. Great location and dedicated parking space a real benefit in Mevagissey. Nice garden and sunny shared patio in early evenings. Good access to coast path on bus from Mevagissey at Charlestown Par and Fowey. Highly recommend ferry to Fowey for a day trip or walk. Gorran Haven is lovely for a day on the beach, super calm for swimming. Hemmick a great, wilder beach. A few small improvements needed: Sofa and rug are grubby and need a wash or steam clean. Bathroom sink is comically small and plug doesn’t work. Shower needs a caddy or hanging shelf for toiletries. As noted in other reviews there is not enough space for clothes - would be better to put small wardrobe with drawers where existing drawers are. Not even enough floor space to live out of suitcase. Could put another set of over door hooks on inside of bedroom door. No smart TV which is essential these days. Wifi didn’t work in bedroom and is intermittent, probably because it’s shared with other 3 properties? Needs a wifi signal booster. Ample space for a dishwasher to be installed. Tiny glimpse of sea from patio, but not what I’d call a “sea view”. Although this is quite a long list, it’s not necessarily enough to stop you going there though, I had a lovely holiday.

We are glad that you liked this property and its fantastic location, and thank you for the suggestions. We will pass these on to the property owner for their consideration, and we have asked the housekeeper to have a look at the sofa and rug so that we can inform the owner if they require professional upholstery cleaners to attend. Thanks for making us aware. Tanya, Customer Services

Absolute fantastic place Very well equipped everything you need so good we've already booked again beautiful views over to the sea and portmellon be aware that there are a few steep steps up to the property ok for us though a special mention to Tracey in mevagissey office even on her day off she offered to help us with next year's booking overall a lovely place to stay and fantastic service from aspect holidays as usual From Ian and hansa x

Great little place.very well equipped, very comfortable bed, very clean, excellent views Great place to stay, good location,I would certainly recommend,

Wonderful location but only if you are mobile ,as the walk to the town is quite steep. Very clean and comfortable but need to live out of a suitcase as there is little space for hanging clothes. Kitchen equipment very good and the shower was excellent.
En suite sink is tiny so used the kitchen one for washing. Excellent place to stay and if you can book in time try Salamander and Alvadora restaurants, both of which are excellent.

Absolutely amazing week at Sapphire View , great location & great apartment with everything you could need in it . Super nice bedding & towels . You have your own parking space which is a bonus anywhere you book in Cornwall . We will definitely be booking again

Good location and extremely clean accommodation. Would go there again, although the wash basin in the bathroom was far to small.

Lacking a little thought unfortunately. Nice location, with lovely views, finished to a very good standard inside. Open plan lounge kitchen, which could be improved by an additional 2 seater settee. No wardrobe at all, therefore no coat hangers either. Clothes can be hung on a row of hooks that hang over the bedroom door. This also means that you can’t close the bedroom door. I would have been glad to forfeit the 2nd TV in the bedroom to make room for some hanging space. OK for short stay though. Says they are located at the Spa Hotel, but note, that Hotel has been closed for a number of years.

Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments. When you are staying in a property, fully using all the facilities there, you get to experience them in a very different way than ourselves and property owners do on our visits, so feedback like this is really helpful. We try to show the amount of seating and storage in the bedrooms, as well as we can on the photos and you are quite right, there is no wardrobe in there. We will pass on all feedback to the property owner and make some further recommendations on how this could be addressed in the future, but for now, the owners just provide the chest of drawers that is pictured and some hanging hooks that are hung over the bedroom door. I have checked on your comment about us stating that it is located at the Spa Hotel, and whilst the apartment used to be part of the hotel, I can't see that we have listed that anywhere on the website or on our directions. The address itself states Spa Hotel as the address is still officially registered as that, but the directions do not mention it, so that we avoid any confusion. We will be in touch to see if we can get any other information on where you have seen that stated. Thanks again for taking the time to send in your feedback. Tanya, Customer Services

This accommodation is in a wonderful location and very peaceful.

Sapphire View is great if you are looking for a short break. Close to town, 5 minutes walk down to harbour and great as a base to explore this part of Cornwall. Apartment Is compact but fine for couples, was excellent, clean and fully equipped with everything you could need. Off road parking on site and great value??

The perfect location for a stress free break. The property was extremely clean and very well equipped. The perfect staycation solution. Highly recommended.

Lovely apartment in great location with access to everything we needed for a relaxing week. Didn’t need to use our car all week.

Sapphire view exceded my expectations. The cleanliness and quality of the equipment were really good. It made us feel very comfortable during the week we spent there. We will for use Aspect Holidays again.

Excellent accommodation, well kitted out, perfect location for exploring. Would recommend!
