The Lookout, Hawkes Point
Carbis Bay

£885 - £2468 per week
Book

Situated within the half acre grounds of the main house, this timber clad eco lodge offers a slice of luxury in one of the most stunning locations on Cornwall's coastline. Perfectly equipped for couples or a family of six, the large patio doors open out onto a generous sized balcony where you can sit out and enjoy a tipple, with uninterrupted views across Porthkidney beach towards Godrevy Lighthouse and beyond.

This superb holiday home provides an excellent standard of accommodation with oak flooring and stunning views from every room, the property also benefits from it's own section of the cornish landscaped garden, perfect for those sunny afternoons. Immediately opposite The Lookout runs the coastal path which will guide you along two miles of sheltered, and incredibly picturesque coastline right into the heart of St Ives. Alongside the garden runs the St Ives Branch Line, one of Britain's most beautiful train journeys where the train passes at a snails pace and a wave buys you a toot from the driver! Hawkes Point itself is a renowned angling spot, where sea bass pass on their way in and out of Hayle Estuary. The Lookout can be booked alongside Dolphin Watch and Atlantic View, accommodating larger parties of up to 14 people if required.

Please note: There are ground works taking place to prepare for the construction of a garage with an attached sunroom. This is taking place approximately 30 metres away between a neighbouring lodge and the main house. This intermittent work can only be seen when walking to the The Lookout from the parking space, and we currently do not have an expected timeframe for completion. The works can’t be seen from the property, and we do not expect for noise to be heard. Should you have any questions or queries, please contact our Customer Services Team.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hawkes Point. We were part of a big group that booked all 3 lodges. The lodges are very clean, modern and spacious; they have everything you need for a week’s stay (or longer). We were blown away by the views, they were absolutely spectacular. It’s super easy to access Carbis Bay & from there it’s a really short train ride to St Ives. We had no problem with parking, there was enough space to park 3 relatively large cars in the designated parking & lots of room on the road (we had no trouble parking the 5 cars we had between the 3 lodges). A perfect stay from start to end. Thankyou!!!

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location ??

My happy place & 2nd home. Always book every year again before I leave.

The view as always to die for & a home from home it has everything you need.

Don’t let the parking put you off I have an SUV as did the other 2 guests & we all fitted fine.

Back again to ‘Our Happy Place’ Stayed many times & perfect for us. The views to die for & every comfort that we need.

We stayed at Hawkes Point for 2 weeks, 2 adults and 4 children. We enjoyed the holiday very much. Already in the morning after getting up you could enjoy the beautiful view over Porthkidney Beach with a coffee and watch the surfers.

The cottage is very clean and very well equipped, you have everything you need for a good time. We explored the beautiful places and bays of Cornwell every day from here.

We loved the fantastic views and the lodge was very spacious, peaceful and not overlooked. The local train goes past throughout the day. There are two ways down to the overlooked beach but neither are very practical which explains why not many people seem to be on it. One big downfall is that there is only parking for one car. There were 6 of us with 2 cars and we had to use the station carpark every time to park which was a distance away, and uphill. On arrival there are still a number of steps to climb before you get to the lodge - something to take into consideration.

This property looks over the very quiet and beautiful Porthkidney beach. It can be accessed by walking along the coast path, which is narrow and uneven in places, so will not be an option for everyone, but well worth it. For alternative routes or alternative beaches that are easier to access, please feel free to ask our team for advice. We are based locally and love any excuse to talk about the beautiful place that we live ;-) We do hope that the parking arrangements and access were all what you expected from the details that we include on the website and arrival information. We always try to make details like this as clear as we can. We hope that you had a great time here and thanks for the review. Aspects Holidays Customer Services

The Lookout at Hawkes Point is excellent. The views are spectacular. We will certainly be returning!

The views are excellent, close to train to st Ives just a beautiful relaxing place , we had a wedding in the Caribis bay hotel when we were there and it was a 7 min walk , highly reccommend , will come again
The lookout , Hawkes point

Always very happy with the lookout, it’s location is beautiful with easy access to st ives restaurants and close to west cornwall golf course, it’s a tight road down to the lookout but the parking spaces are as big if not bigger than most car parks ????

We had another lovely stay at the lookout, such a good location , theres a few restaurants within reasonable walking distance and the train gives easy access to st ives, the property itself is excellent, only slight negative is there is not a handrail along all the steps that lead to the property, but if I am coming to cornwall I’ll not be looking for anywhere else to stay??

The lookout has a view you can't miss, it is wonderfully beautiful and quiet bar the occasional train going past which comes with the charm. Can easily walk to St Ives or the other end of the train line (we did both). Well equipt and nicely decorated. Parking is tricky, you need a small car and a confident driver with steps up and down to get to the house but as long as you are aware you can work around that. There is parking at the top of hte hill if you have a bigger car. Defo recommend.

Beautiful property and amazing views. Thoroughly enjoyed it. There is only parking for one car, there was never anywhere to park on the headland as builders took up all of the parking and it’s a very steep walk! Imagine that with a food shop and luggage!

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are sorry that you struggled with the parking. We only advertise 1 small space there and the steep access to it, though there is usually alternative on-road parking on Headland Road. Whilst that cannot be guaranteed along there, it sounds like there had been some work taking place which meant that this was a lot more restricted than usual. We are glad that this property still worked well for your party, and you all had an enjoyable time there. Tanya, Customer Services

What a beautiful property to stay in. It literally had everything we needed & the views were to die for. Lots of lovely little touches on check in, they really have thought of everything. My 2 little boys loved the trains going past & said it was the best holiday they have ever had. Spotlessly clean too. The owners were really lovely & so helpful whilst we were there. We’ve booked for next year & cannot wait to go back!

Lovely place with absolutely stunning views in an excellent location. Lovely walk into st Ives, easily doable with children and the possibility of a pretty train journey back. In driving distance of other lovely places such as the Lizard and st Michaels Mount. Accommodation was clean, warm and well stocked with all necessities. Parking is very tight and you need a small car and confident driver, but more parking available on the main road if you don’t mind the walk up and down the hill. Shop on the main road with good opening hours and a good little tapas restaurant. Quite a few steps up to property. There is a large drop at the side of the property which is unsafe and needs sorting. All in all a really lovely place

Gorgeous location with beautiful views from the property across Port Kidney Sands beach and St Ives Bay.

Beautiful property, amazing owners. Please be aware that if you have any mobility issues there are nearly 30 steps to the property.

The views from here are just stunning and you can certainly spend a long time just staring out to sea and enjoying the tide changes. Great easy access to the coastal path and lots of walks down to the local beaches. However we felt that the property itself was too difficult to access and the parking is very tricky and tight though maybe okay with a very small car. The kitchen at the Lookout is not particularly well equipped if you are intending to cook. The internet is patchy and quite slow. The master en-suite does require some attention - it is small and damp and attracts a lot of mosquitos. The balcony was unfinished during our stay and somewhat unsightly. We visit this area every year but would not return to this particular property despite the amazing views.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are glad that you enjoyed the spectacular location of The Lookout. With its tucked away position on Hawkes Point, great access to the coastal path and the most amazing views, it does mean that the access is tricky and not suitable for everyone, and parking at the property, is only suitable for small cars. We try to make all of this as clear as we can on the description, so we are very sorry if this was not what you had expected, and hope that it didn't cause you any problems. Unfortunately, the new plaster hadn't dried out properly before it had been painted over, causing the damp to come through. This has now been stripped back, dried out and re-painted. This should not have been the cause of mosquitoes taking a particular liking to that room though. We suspect that it may have just been the time of year. We have carefully monitored guest feedback since, and visited the property ourselves, and can confirm no sightings of mosquitoes. The balcony hadn't been photographed showing a balustrade, however the owners installed a temporary structure for guests' peace of mind and now have a permanent balustrade in place. We will pass on your suggestions about additional kitchen items, to the property owner. He has ensured that all the basics are supplied so that you can cook at the property, but for those who like to do a lot of cooking and more complex meals, it may not have everything that you would require. If this is particularly important when booking a property, please feel free to enquire about the availability of specific items at time of booking. We would be happy to look into this for you. We hope that you still had a great time here and thanks for the feedback. Tanya, Customer Services

We’ve stayed in St Ives and the surrounding area many times over the years and The Look Out is the best located property we’ve stayed in. The combination of views, access to a lovely and often empty beach, a quiet location with a fab tapas local restaurant and easy train access to St Ives makes The Look Out a wonderful place to stay. We will definitely recommend to others.

A fantastic spot. Incredible view, very comfortable house and nice and quiet.Easy to get the train into St Ives and some very quiet beaches on your doorstep. Will definitely come back.

If you want the wow views and lots of living space this is the place for you!!

Absolutely stunning location looking out across the bay and away from hustle and bustle of St ives but close enough if you want to join in. Easy walk to Carbis bay beach. Property itself has everything you need to make life easy.
