It is set over three floors, with four bedrooms, sleeping up to eight guests and the adaptable bed configurations can be altered to suit your needs. Most of the rooms boast impressive views, looking out towards Hayle beach and Godrevy lighthouse, hopefully you may even spot a dolphin or two, thanks to the binoculars provided. You can also enjoy the Cornish breeze as it flows around you while you sit out on the balcony, just off the sitting room. The superb games room is sure to be popular for some competitive family fun, whether playing pool, air hockey, table tennis, or making the most of the selection of games for the Nintendo Wii. The evening can be finished off with a dip in the hot tub, while gazing out towards the sea, and a refreshing Cornish ale in hand. Up to two dogs are welcome here at Windrush, so pack your walking boots and head along the scenic coastal path leading you to St Ives in one direction, and in the other, the mile-long Porthkidney Sands.

A short path to the front of the house is reserved for private access for Windrush and neighbouring properties, leading you straight down to the Blue Flag Carbis Bay beach, where you have an array of water sports equipment available to hire, followed by a fresh, local, lunch courtesy of The Beach Club restaurant. Exploring West Cornwall and beyond is also trouble-free, thanks to the ample parking waiting for your return.

July 2024

Windrush is a stunning property, its literally 5 minutes from the beach through a private cutway at the back of the property and the views are stunning from the living room and bedrooms. Games room and Hot tub are the icing on the cake. The only thing I think may be worth mentioning is the small Road down to the property which is extremely steep ! Other than that it is perfection.

Choose a holiday in Carbis Bay and you’ll be spoilt by endless views and a sweeping coastline. Spend your days relaxing on the beach, or walk the coastal path into St Ives. Located between Hayle and St Ives, you’ll be spoilt for places to visit, from endless golden beaches, to Cornish cafes and family attractions.

Top tip

Take a ride on the St Ives branch line, one the most picturesque train journeys in Britain!

Carbis Bay beach

A holiday in Carbis Bay means you’ll have one of the most beautiful beaches just a short walk away from your holiday cottage. With crystal-clear turquoise waters, enjoy swimming and other watersports, with kayaks and paddleboards available to hire from the watersports centre at the beach. You’ll also be in close proximity to the golden sandy beaches at Lelant and Hayle and the popular beaches in St Ives; you could try a different beach every day of the week!

Walks in Carbis Bay

Leave the car at home and take the 20 minute walk into St Ives, enjoying the views along the way. This gentle walk is a must at least once during your stay.

For nature lovers, the Steeple Woods Nature Reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife and plants. Relax and explore the forty acre space which overlooks St Ives.

For the more adventurous soul, the St Michael’s Way is a 12.5 mile trek starting at nearby Lelant, and finishing up at the stunning St Michael’s Mount in Marazion. If the walk back doesn’t seem too appealing, you can always ride the open-top bus all the way back!

A brilliant holiday home for our two families to stay in. Be aware the road down to the house is very steep, and there is a sloped drive to the front door with some steps. The house is excellent, and attention to detail is great. You can tell the owners love this place too, and they have thought of everything with a detailed manual to help too. Hot tub is great especially when we had some mixed weather which was cleaned midweek- who doesn’t love the sea view in the rain. The lounge window is like a sea view picture frame, and the bifold doors with balcony perfect for a morning cuppa. A short 5 minute walk down a sloped path, took us down the back of Carbis bay hotel, to the beach, so a perfect location to access the beach most days! Overall a great holiday and I’m sure we’ll be back.
