Mount Whistle
Marazion

£556 - £1292 per week
Book

Imagine waking up to a breath-taking view! With the sun rising over the sea, you can watch the fishing boats returning to Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole harbours with their early morning catch, all from the comfort of your bed. Having recently been tastefully, renovated, this two-bedroom property is the perfect holiday home for up to four guests, with a four-legged friend. You can look at the sea while you're preparing dinner in the kitchen as well as when you're sat in the dining room. There is private parking at the rear of the house, with steps leading down to the back door. Mount Whistle is within easy reach of many beautiful beaches, quaint fishing villages, and local attractions; a trip to St Michaels Mount should be top on the list!

Mount Whistle's elevated position is rewarded with an unobstructed sweeping view of Mounts Bay; on a fine clear day you can see the Lizard right across to Gwennap Head. In the middle of the bay, stands the iconic St Michael's Mount, with its medieval church and castle. There are always boats to be seen bobbing in the bay and, if you're lucky, you may see a pod of dolphins leaping playfully out of the water. A stroll down the hill takes you into Marazion town, one of the oldest chartered towns in the UK, where you can browse the shops and art galleries and perhaps have a bite to eat in one of the many pubs and cafes. A famous Philps pasty is a must have and can be enjoyed sat on the golden sands of Marazion beach, whilst watching the boats to and fro from the castle. After washing off the day's sand in the outside wet room there is nothing better than sitting on the decking with dinner sizzling on the barbeque and enjoying a glass of something cool and crisp. The sunsets can be incredible, the sky lights up with hues of pink, orange and yellow, the perfect backdrop to the silhouette of the Mount.

Mount Whistle is a lovely, clean, comfortable house with good facilities and beautiful views. The patio area is a bonus for early morning and sunsets which were beautiful. The proximity of the beach and Marazion is fabulous and dogs can go onto the beach before 10am and after 6pm which they loved. We had a wonderful family holiday. Only slight drawback was the parking although a bonus could be quite tight especially if neighbour is home but we have small car so we wiggled in. However my daughter had a car as well and managed to park further up School Lane without any problems all week. Thank you for the use of your lovely property

Holidays in Marazion

Marazion is perhaps best known for the famous St Michael's Mount that is perfectly silhouetted on a sunny day, however the town itself is worth a browse with some lovely shops and tea rooms. We recommend visiting in early Spring when the famous Cornish daffs are in full flower!

St Michael’s Mount sits majestically on an island out at sea and can be reached via a cobbled causeway at low tide or at other times by the 'St Michael' amphibious vehicle! Visit the sub-tropical gardens that surround the castle or step inside the castle walls to explore the myths and legends that surround this iconic landmark. Read more about St Michael's Mount or view our St Michael's Mount webcam.

Top tip

Be sure check the tide times when planning your visit to St Michael's Mount!

Marazion beach

Conveniently located a moment away from the world famous St Michael's Mount, Marazion beach is found in the heart of Mount's Bay, recently elected as one of the 'most beautiful bays in the world'. It’s the perfect beach for family holidays in Marazion, with cafés just above the sand, lifeguards on hand and clean and safe waters. Despite its beauty and convenience for holiday makers, it remains surprisingly quiet compared to other Cornish beaches. It’s perfect for beach and sea sports and you can even take your horse for a quick gallop across the sands! The long sandy beach that stretches towards Long Rock is a popular windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing spot amongst locals and holiday makers alike. Mount's Bay provides ideal conditions for watersports, and kite surfing and stand up paddleboarding lessons are available with Ocean High for those looking to make the most of the outdoors. Venture Eastwards and you'll find Marazion Beach East, or Steps Beach. This dog-friendly beach is favoured by locals as it is quiet due to its limited access and rocky shore, but it is perfect for dog walking, and collecting driftwood after a storm. Children will enjoy the many rock pools when the tide is out. Accessible via Leys Lane or from Marazion beach if you don't mind climbing over the rocks!

Lovely house with great views of the Mount. Very modern & clean & tidy. Seems like it's just had a refurb. Nice position. Lovely comfortable beds. Slept well. Would recommend. Please be aware that in my opinion the car park is only suitable for a small to medium car.

We are so pleased you had a lovely stay at Mount Whistle and enjoyed those stunning views! The allocated parking space may not be suitable for larger cars, so we do advertise this as such in the property description. If you have any questions or concerns before booking please do get in touch and our team will be happy to help. Katy, Customer Services.

Great location for town - pubs and restaurants in both directions - ate in Kings Arms, Cutty Sark and Fire Station - all good. Best food Cutty Sark but great pizzas in Fire Station, friendliest in Kings Arms. Great views of the Mount from the front windows, especially the bedroom, great view for morning coffee. Bus stop just up the road - great for hopping on and off. The parking space is very tight if the neighbours are parked on their drive, lane is narrow and used a lot as school is up there. If you are not confident you might want to park in the main carpark! Marazion is lacking a decent bakery or mini mart although the deli does nice bread! The beaches are lovely and we found everywhere was very dog friendly.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so glad you had a great stay at Mount Whistle. You really can't beat those amazing views!

With parking spaces being quite limited in Marazion, we hope you agree that having an allocated parking space is a definite advantage. The historic town does have narrow streets, which may be daunting for drivers of larger cars, but once you are parked up you can get absorbed in one of the oldest chartered towns in the UK. We had a good week at Mount Whistle , the location is exceptional , the Mount is on the doorstep, good beaches, and lovely old town. Walking is also good from here. Remember your binoculars, the views are very interesting and exceptional !!

Unrivalled views compared to 4 other properties we've rented in marazion. The spacious property and parking, and decking area all lovely. There is less of a need to escape the property if you don't want to as you have a great position and amenities to still enjoy the location without venturing out. The TV is only used when the light is gone, and the view with it!

Lovely, well-appointed property in a fabulous location and with stunning views over Mounts Bay. I’d definitely recommend a stay here, we had a fantastic week and loved the short stroll into the town where there is no shortage of great pubs and restaurants.

Comfortable stay with parking. Fabulous view. Very steep stairs at back of property to be aware of but otherwise great location.

Beautiful house in a fantastic location, would highly recommend this for an enjoyable holiday.

We had an amazing week at Mount Whistle! The views from the house are beautiful. The house itself was a perfect size for our family of four and little dog. The rooms are clean, decorated really nicely and all rooms well equipped. We came late March and luckily had some nice weather so having my morning coffee out in little garden area over looking St Michaels Mount was perfect. The location is great, a short walk down into Marazion and also a lovely pub just up the road. And Marizion is the perfect location to explore a lot of Cornwall. We did not want to leave, and I’m already looking at booking again for next year, if not sooner!
