Holidays in Marazion

Marazion is perhaps best known for the famous St Michael's Mount that is perfectly silhouetted on a sunny day, however the town itself is worth a browse with some lovely shops and tea rooms. We recommend visiting in early Spring when the famous Cornish daffs are in full flower!

St Michael’s Mount sits majestically on an island out at sea and can be reached via a cobbled causeway at low tide or at other times by the 'St Michael' amphibious vehicle! Visit the sub-tropical gardens that surround the castle or step inside the castle walls to explore the myths and legends that surround this iconic landmark. Read more about St Michael's Mount or view our St Michael's Mount webcam.

Top tip

Be sure check the tide times when planning your visit to St Michael's Mount!

Marazion beach

Conveniently located a moment away from the world famous St Michael's Mount, Marazion beach is found in the heart of Mount's Bay, recently elected as one of the 'most beautiful bays in the world'. It’s the perfect beach for family holidays in Marazion, with cafés just above the sand, lifeguards on hand and clean and safe waters. Despite its beauty and convenience for holiday makers, it remains surprisingly quiet compared to other Cornish beaches. It’s perfect for beach and sea sports and you can even take your horse for a quick gallop across the sands! The long sandy beach that stretches towards Long Rock is a popular windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing spot amongst locals and holiday makers alike. Mount's Bay provides ideal conditions for watersports, and kite surfing and stand up paddleboarding lessons are available with Ocean High for those looking to make the most of the outdoors. Venture Eastwards and you'll find Marazion Beach East, or Steps Beach. This dog-friendly beach is favoured by locals as it is quiet due to its limited access and rocky shore, but it is perfect for dog walking, and collecting driftwood after a storm. Children will enjoy the many rock pools when the tide is out. Accessible via Leys Lane or from Marazion beach if you don't mind climbing over the rocks!

The house in a great spot for exploring the surrounding areas of interest. Equally, staying in isn't an issue, you can watch the world go by in the lovely living space.

We loved our stay at Paardeburg but because of my mobility issues I did favour the ground floor most of the time to save going up and down all the stairs.Just inside the back door there is a courtyard with table and chairs then doors leading into a sun-room and a utility area complete with sink, storage and cupboards containing plastic picnicware for eating outdoors. Also on the ground floor was a large walk-in shower, sink and w.c.

What a lovely week my sister and I shared at Paardeberg. The location is even better than we could have imagined, less than 1 minute and you are on the beach as well as being less than 5 from the village centre. There are wonderful views from all 3 floors of the house, and, with the ever changing weather and tides, it always looks different. The house itself is very thoughtfully presented and comfortable with good quality towels and bedding, a lovely well equipped kitchen and pleasing decor throughout. The courtyard is a great sheltered space for food, drinks and reading. Don't miss the pleasure of enjoying a drink on the terrace at the Godolphin whilst watching the tide come in over the Causeway and we were blown away by the gardens on St Michaels Mount. We had no problem with the car parking situation, always found a space. And thanks to Aspects Holidays for the great service, especially phoning us en route to tell us the property was ready ahead of time.

A stunning property with a view that you will never tire of. Comfortable, tasteful, yet homely. Great central position in Marazion & not too far from the Folleyfield car park (now £55 for a weekly pass.) Hope to return to Paardeberg soon!

We spent a week in Paarderberg, which is a lovely house in Marazion. It's beautifully furnished and well equipped. It has glorious views of St Michael's Mount and the sea. It was so calming to watch the clouds and the waves roll by.

Marazion has a wonderful warm and welcoming atmosphere. Do visit the lovely lady in the Copper Spoon for coffee and delicious pastries. Other suggestions are a visit to the Barbara Hepworth museum in St Ives, the Minack Theatre and the seal sanctuary at Gweek. There's so much to do locally that we couldn't fit it all in this time round.

Paardeberg was a fabulous find in the perfect location for an autumn getaway with the family. The property is set over 4 floors so some may find that to be an issue but not for us! There are outstanding views overlooking St Michael's Mount and Marazion from every level and with Penzance only 5 mins away, this property is in the perfect location to act a base and explore the South West of Cornwall. It's worth noting that parking is a challenge. You will need to park in the local long stay car park at Marazion; a 5 minute walk and costs around £40 per week. Book this property and you will not be disappointed - and a special mention to Aspect Holidays for their full support an great service throughout the booking process and during our stay.

Unbeatable location and view.

Really enjoyed our holiday here - the house met all our expectations and the location was perfect for quick beach access.

Really appreciated the kids beach kit that was available to use.

Unloaded/loaded directly behind the house and parked in the main car park for the week. Never struggled to get a spot, despite it being busy!

Marazion is an excellent base but also lots to do locally we walked/scooted to Penzance along the sea front, enjoyed the park down the road in the evenings and of course visited St Michaels Mount.

Aspects very quick and helpful with any of our queries.

An excellent property with ample room for up to 6 occupants. The location has shot this property to the top of our list of places to stay at in Marazion. Local Amenities, beach and lay ground for the kids right on the doorstep. The views across to St. Michael’s Mount are breathtaking. We’ll definitely be back again soon.

Great property, of a high standard. Brilliant view of St Michaels Mount. Shame there is no parking. Allyson, May 2023
