October 2024

We have had a wonderful relaxing week once again at Linen Loft. This was our third visit which is testament to the wonderful service supplied and dedication of the Aspects Holiday team in making you feel welcome as soon as you arrive, with those little essentials like tea coffee, Cornish scones with cream and jam awaiting you, together with eggs, bread and butter ready for breakfast in the morning. Once again, the property was bright, clean and fresh with plenty of modern appliances to hand , like dishwasher ,washing machine, cooker and we both love the gushings of hot water that is readily available when one has a shower. We will be booking our next return shortly.

Holidays in Marazion

Marazion is perhaps best known for the famous St Michael's Mount that is perfectly silhouetted on a sunny day, however the town itself is worth a browse with some lovely shops and tea rooms. We recommend visiting in early Spring when the famous Cornish daffs are in full flower!

St Michael’s Mount sits majestically on an island out at sea and can be reached via a cobbled causeway at low tide or at other times by the 'St Michael' amphibious vehicle! Visit the sub-tropical gardens that surround the castle or step inside the castle walls to explore the myths and legends that surround this iconic landmark. Read more about St Michael's Mount or view our St Michael's Mount webcam.

Top tip

Be sure check the tide times when planning your visit to St Michael's Mount!

Marazion beach

Conveniently located a moment away from the world famous St Michael's Mount, Marazion beach is found in the heart of Mount's Bay, recently elected as one of the 'most beautiful bays in the world'. It’s the perfect beach for family holidays in Marazion, with cafés just above the sand, lifeguards on hand and clean and safe waters. Despite its beauty and convenience for holiday makers, it remains surprisingly quiet compared to other Cornish beaches. It’s perfect for beach and sea sports and you can even take your horse for a quick gallop across the sands! The long sandy beach that stretches towards Long Rock is a popular windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing spot amongst locals and holiday makers alike. Mount's Bay provides ideal conditions for watersports, and kite surfing and stand up paddleboarding lessons are available with Ocean High for those looking to make the most of the outdoors. Find out more things to do at Marazion Beach >

Venture Eastwards and you'll find Marazion Beach East, or Steps Beach. This dog-friendly beach is favoured by locals as it is quiet due to its limited access and rocky shore, but it is perfect for dog walking, and collecting driftwood after a storm. Children will enjoy the many rock pools when the tide is out. Accessible via Leys Lane or from Marazion beach if you don't mind climbing over the rocks!

Located on the South West Coast Path, there are stunning walks across Mounts Bay to Penzance, and to Prussia Cove in the opposite direction. Walking inland, you have 'St Michael's Way'. Thought to be used by pilgrims wanting to avoid the treacherous waters around Land's End, this popular walk runs coast to coast from St Ives to Marazion. This 12 mile walk finishes at Marazion Marsh which can get quite muddy so be sure to bring appropriate footwear! We know how important honest reviews are when it comes to booking your holiday. Excellent location and lovely house - we loved our stay and cannot wait to return next year.

First time stopping here but won’t be the last . Lovely property in a great location and views to die for ! Parking is no problem if you’re careful, we have a Kia Niro and parked fine with mirrors out . Nice places to eat and drink in close proximity. Mattresses rather soft for us but that’s personal preference .Will definitely return .

We stayed at The Linen Loft for a week and it was perfect for us. The location in West Cornwall and in Marazion itself was ideal. We ventured out to St Ives and Mousehole (this is a must) and had lovely walks along the beach. We also walked over to St Michael’s Mount which can be seen from the kitchen window. Thank you

We spent a week at the Linen loft and the property was lovely. The garage was a bit tight for our Volvo but just managed it by closing the wing mirrors in. There was a lovely welcome hamper on arrival with fresh eggs, milk, bread, jams and biscuits, such a lovely thought thank you. Linen loft is an upside down living space due to the wonderful views on St Michael’s Mount and a nice view of the sea from a beautiful spacious kitchen/living area. The beds were really comfortable and it was spotlessly clean. There is only one toilet/shower room, it was a bit inconvenient for family members when one is having a shower and another wanting to use the toilet but we managed it. The shower was super powerful and lovely and clean. It is a beautiful property and one of our favorite areas of Cornwall, we would definitely consider returning in the future, thanks The Thompson’s from Manchester.

The Linen Loft is a lovely quiet place to stay but close to beach and amenities. Everything you need is provided in the house. As other reviews have mentioned, parking is tight and you can only park in the garage or local car parks. We’ve used Aspects many times and this is up to their usual high standards. We’ll be back!

Gorgeous, bright and airy loft conversion with panoramic views from the first floor kitchen/living space. Private courtyard and west-facing balcony to watch the sunset. Amazing central location! Ground floor bedrooms are modest, compact, with no views. There is only one shower room, but it is very generously sized.

We had a fantastic stay! Such a well appointed and decorated property, in great condition. We were pleasantly surprised by the welcome food package, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We made good use of the DVDs and games as well. The rain shower was glorious after a day of getting incredibly sandy on the beach. Incredibly comfortable beds. And the views are spectacular. I want to go back!

The Linen Loft is a guarantee for a wonderful time in Marazion. We had a wonderful time there - twice. We love the decoration und furnishing and - of course - the view to St Michaels Mount. It is not far to the sea. Recommendable!

Loved our stay in the Linen Loft. Perfectly located in Marizion with amazing views and light in the upstairs living area. Well stocked kitchen and comfy beds too.

We stayed at The Linen Loft for a week in May, and were very glad we picked this property. The location is just about perfect, being a very short walk to the beach, centre of town and restaurants, with a door opening right onto Beacon road. The garage is an unusual bonus, accessed by a back door. It is quite small, but the dimensions are provided in the property details. We have a Kia Ceed, which fitted into the garage quite easily. If you have a very large vehicle, the long stay public car park is quite near, and I have been told the rates are reduced for weekly stays. The layout of the property is great, with sleeping accommodation and shower / toilet on the ground floor. The shower is really good, but if five people are staying, some organisation may be required in the mornings, as the shower and toilet are in the same room. On the first floor there is an open plan kitchen / dinning room / lounge, with great views of St Michaels Mount. There is also an outside space on the ground floor and a balcony on the first floor. The property was clean and well equipped, the complimentary scones, jam, clotted cream, milk and tea bags were a nice thought. We had an excellent stay at The Linen Loft, and will try to book this again when we next visit Marazion.

The Linen Loft is a fantastic place to rent as a holiday let. It’s so near the town centre ,beach and causeway to St,Michael’s Mount The upstairs living room with gorgeous kitchen and sea views from three sides is memorable ,

Excellent location this was our second visit. Everything was spotless and the kitchen was well equipped . An excellent welcome pack of goodies. You do need to have a small car for the garage. We will probably return at some point.

As returning guests, the linen loft never fails to please. The property if comfortable and clean, and has everything you could need for your stay. It's perfect for us and our dogs and they are always chilled and happy when here. We are looking forward to returning.

Breathtaking views, breathtaking cleanliness, Breathtaking steep hill outside - but worth it for the views and the high quality amenities provided. Linen Loft has been the first UK holiday venue that we have chosen to revisit for a second time. We came away very happy!

The Linen Loft is a really beautiful property. It’s perfectly located in Marazion with beautiful views from the living area and was perfect for our family of 4 + dog. We had no problems getting our Hyundai Tucson in the garage (forwards) which meant we had parking at the property throughout our stay. We removed our roof box and kept that in the garage too. There’s so much to do in and nearby Marazion. The Linen Loft makes a great base to explore this part of Cornwall and the property makes for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful holiday at the Linen Loft, the location was fabulous, as were the views. To be able to look upon St Michael's Mount from the cottage was amazing. We loved Marazion, to have access to a wonderful beach for swimming and another beach for crab pooling and dog walking, just a walk away from the cottage, made the holiday. The cottage was within easy reach of so many wonderful beaches and areas to explore and the fabulous Land's End area was easily reached by car. St Ives and the North Coast was only 8/9 miles away with the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum. The open plan kitchen, diner sitting room was a lovely comfortable room, full of light, wonderful views to three sides and fabulous for family gatherings and meals. The balcony was an added bonus and meant that despite it being and upside down house you still had access to the outside from the living parts of the house. It was brilliant having the garage and off road turning area. It was great to have the outside yard area too. The beds were very comfortable and the living area was a lovely place to be. Everything was spotless. We would not hesitate to holiday at the Linen Loft again.

We would thoroughly recommend the Linen Loft at any time of the year.Very clean and comfortable and what a wonderful view from the kitchen window. The lane and garage a little tricky but we managed. We shall hopefully return in the future.

The Linen Loft was amazing, the beds were comfortable and it was nice and light and spacious. The view of St. Michael's Mount from the upstairs kitchen window was a lovely touch and the outside space and parking were appreciated. It was nice to be so close to the beach too.

The Linen Loft is a great name for a very unique stylish retreat. The furnishings are super cool and cheerful. On our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the provision of a lovely cream tea and they even included milk, tea and coffee. The crockery and utensils were very classy too. It was a modern functional kitchen and wonderfully clean. The shower is gushingly good and hot and the bedrooms are comfortable and clean. The open aspect of the living area works very well especially with the vaulted ceiling giving a true sense of space, further enhanced by the wonderful views of St Michaels Mount, the beach and the morning sunshine. We are grateful to Aspects Holidays for making our week away so special.

I know people have complained about the size of the garage I have a Qashqai and I managed to get it in I had to let my brother and dog out first and the lane was fine just had to make sure my wing mirrors were in. ????

We recently had a lovely stay at the Linen Loft and were very happy with the accommodation and the location. There is a garage that comes with the property that we were able to fit our Seat Leon into easily which was a bonus and the views from the property were stunning also the location of the property was very central. There is pubs and restaurants nearby and also Morrisons and Sainsbury’s are only a five minute drive away.

We have just enjoyed our second stay in the Linen Loft. After being able to experience each of the three separate cottages over the last 20 years at different times and various owners, the Linen Loft is without doubt the best for views and practicality. The welcome gift is also much appreciated after a long drive!

The view from the kitchen window looking out to St Michael's Mount is incredible, especially at the weekend when it is lit up. We were also able to use the balcony because of the good weather and this also has beautiful views looking towards the sea and Penzance.

The Linen Loft also benefits from an extra door on the side of the lane so you are able to quickly access the town and beach.

The upstairs living area and kitchen also benefits from incredible natural light and the owners have carefully decorated and furnished the Linen Loft to a very high standard.

Marazion is a great place to stay. There are many places to eat and drink and you don't need to worry about parking if visiting St Michael's Mount. Everything is within walking distance.

Before booking, carefully check the dimensions of your car to see it fits into the garage so there are no surprises when you arrive but we were able to easily get a Hyundai Tucson in by everyone getting out and then reversing in.

We would recommend Philps Bakery for pasties and if you plan to go to St Ives, the park and ride at St Earth train station is fantastic. The train uses the coastal line and you get to see Hayle Estuary and the Towans from a different prospective.

We will definitely book the Linen Loft again!

We stayed in the Linen Loft for my Birthday in June and absolutely loved it. It’s in a perfect location with a super garage for parking. The views are just stunning and the balcony is a real sun trap. The bathroom and kitchen both look brand new and the dining area is lovely. Despite being central in Marazion it was really quiet. We will definitely be booking again for next year !!!

We stayed in the Linen Loft last year (2021) The refurbishment done by the owners to the kitchen and bathroom have been a big improvement and made this year's stay more comfortable. The location is ideal for a walk into the heart of Marazion, it's quite easy to find a seat with a view and while away the day. Plenty of places to buy lunch, from sandwiches to a sit down meal and not forgetting a pasty. Great location to explore from, Lands End, Sennen only 30min drive or buses go from Marazion to many locations.

Lovely accommodation and perfect location for exploring this part of Cornwall. The house has everything you could need with a fab view of St Michael's Mount and the scones and tea that were left for us were a really nice touch. We could not fault the house or the location and have already booked again for next year.

The Linen Loft was not for us unfortunately. There was no mention of how close the property was to the narrow access road, which is deceptively busy with traffic and especially noisy people returning from an alcohol filled night. The two front bedrooms are adjacent to this road which resulted in many sleep disturbed nights. The kitchen is ill equipped, the sofa is extremely uncomfortable and the living/dining area is very echoey. To add to all of this, the property is one of three in a row with the Linen Cottage being the only one with a front door. One evening we returned from an evening out to find a note pinned to the door asking us to have some respect for the neighbours and do something about our dogs who had been barking, whining and howling all night. We have one dog and he was with us every time we left the property!! We later discovered that the problematic dogs were in a property further up the road, this ‘mistake’ could have led to a complaint to Aspect Holidays about something we were not guilty of. This review is in no way a reflection of Aspect Holidays or any of their staff but merely about this particular property, which in our opinion is not of the standard we have come to expect from Aspect Holidays.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are very sorry if this property was not right for you and the location not clear enough. We try to show the location of properties as clearly as possible on the map tab on the website, but we appreciate that it is difficult to get a full idea, unless you are familiar with the area. Whilst the property is right in the centre of the town, and therefore susceptible to hearing the hustle and bustle of such a location; it is not usually a place associated with lots of revellers on alcohol filled nights; but perhaps it was just an unusually noisy week. We are sorry that it was not as peaceful as you had hoped and for the incident of mistaken identity. Just to reassure you, we would never automatically jump to conclusions if something like that had been reported to us. If you are ever looking to return to Cornwall, please do not hesitate to contact us, so that we can advise you on where may be more suitable for you next time. Tanya, Customer Services. **UPDATE- Spring 2022: The Linen Loft was refurbished in early 2022. A new kitchen was fitted, including full height fridge freezer and dishwasher. Other areas upgraded included a new bathroom and new floor coverings throughout.

The Linen Loft is a lovely holiday property which would have received full marks but for two fairly major problems. Firstly the good points. As usual with Aspects' the property was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen well stocked with all the utensils, etc. you would need. The kitchen/lounge is actually a lot bigger than it looks on the photos and the 5 adults and one dog fitted in very comfortably for the two weeks. However, the fridge freezer is tiny given the number of adults staying (the freezer is a small box big enough for ice cubes only, fridge only big enough for bare necessities, no space for the all important alcohol). This meant trips to the supermarket on an almost daily basis, rather than being able to do one big shop for the week. This was further compounded by the fact that as previous holiday makers have noted the garage with the property will not take an average size family car (we had a Volvo XC60), so each shop run needed picking up the car from the long stay carpark (10 minute walk). Care must be taken when paying for your carpark - 7 days is advertised at £50, but you need the Just Park app, and you need to put in the correct code which is different from the general carpark code. If you submit the latter code and request two weeks the charge is worked out around £186. I would suggest to the property owners, to leave the present fridge freezer for alcohol/ice cubes and install another fridge freezer at least twice the size, the kitchen has enough space to do this. I would also recommend that they take the carpark fee off the cost of the holiday as a good will gesture.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We were sorry to hear that the fridge and garage space were not what you were expecting from this property. We never want anyone to be disappointed, so try to accurately display and describe everything as best as possible on the website and in this case, because the garage will not fit all vehicles, we clearly advertise the dimensions of the garage. You would need to also bear in mind the ability to be able to open doors within the stated width as well. Unfortunately, a Volvo XC60 is wider than the stated entrance dimensions to the garage, so would not have fit your vehicle, and because the owner still provides that facility and the dimensions are clearly advertised, a reduction in the cost of the holiday is not something that would be possible. We have included photos on the website that show the undercounter fridge and mention the freezer compartment within that, on the description, so we do hope that this was what you were expecting at the time that you booked; however, we would be happy to pass on your suggestion to the property owner, regarding a larger fridge freezer, in case that is something that they may consider in the future. Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments and we hope that you still enjoyed your time here. Tanya, Customer Services **UPDATE- Spring 2022: The Linen Loft was refurbished in early 2022. A new kitchen was fitted, including full height fridge freezer and dishwasher. Other areas upgraded included a new bathroom and new floor coverings throughout.

We have used aspects holidays a few times now ,we love that we take our 4 legged friends with us, the linen loft was lovely I wasn’t expecting a topsy turvy property but that was part of its charm,we’re looking forwards to booking our next aspects holiday next year. Mrs s Jordan

Our stay in the linen loft was a great experience for the whole family. Accessible to other places in Cornwall if wanting to venture further. A 3 minute walk to the beach, good food sources to purchase from. A generally pleasant holiday that I would do again.

The location of the Linen Loft is in a great position for all that Marazion offers.

After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned about being able to get my car in the garage. I have a 2016 Ford Focus and had no problem putting it in the garage, although getting out of the car could be a problem for some.

Makes a good base to travel from to visit all that the area offers.

We enjoyed our stay in the Linen Loft and have booked to stay again next year.

Loved the views and the light in this property. Was wonderful to enjoy the warmth of the sun in the lounge in the mornings and even better to be able to enjoy the fabulous sunsets from the balcony! The downstairs courtyard was a handy space too and benefits from the sun all afternoon. A well-equipped property that I'd definitely recommend. Comfortable bed and lovely linen and towels. Great location in the heart of the village. (Worth taking note of the description ref parking... access and parking very tight for a larger vehicle.)

We enjoyed our stay at the Linen loft , excellent location to travel sight see etc, lovely walks on the beach with our dog who loved the beach , felt safe in these uncertain times .Only sorry we couldn't complete our full week due to lockdown and decided to come back on the Wednesday before lock down commenced. Staff at Aspects were very helpful and supportive in these uncertain times . Will definitely use them again for future bookings

To be spoilt and transported to an amazing location just book The Linen Loft. The view is just absolutely, completely WOW. The location is perfect , the rooms are bright and airy. The personal touches that are waiting when you are arrive are a lovely treat. We stopped here just as low season started but we were not disappointed. To walk on the beach every day with our dog was paw-fect! 1st time using Aspect Holidays - we WILL be booking again.

Great views, location & spacious. Marazion & all areas we visited are really hot on Covid precautions including track and trace & social distancing. They insist on sanitation & masks which is great. We had a few issues with cleanliness in the Linen Loft that I found a bit disappointing, especially in current climate & more especially given that we had our time there cut short to facilitate extra cleaning, no dishwasher so I wonder if the early departure time of 9am is not helping, freezer in much need of defrosting. I appreciate that having a dog doesn’t help when keeping carpets clean. Fridge is a little small when the loft is fully occupied.

Thank you for your review. We were really pleased to see that you liked the location of the property and the beautiful views that can be seen from there, overlooking Marazion and St Michael's Mount. We were sorry to hear that you experienced a few issues with cleanliness at the property, as we would always expect for you to find everything spotless upon arrival, even in more 'normal' times. All your comments were passed onto the property owners' housekeeper and we will be keeping an eye on all feedback going forward. We were however happy to see that you found all Covid procedures within Marazion to be great, as we know all over Cornwall businesses have been working tirelessly to make sure everything was as safe as possible for all visitors to the county. Thanks again, we hope to see you again soon. Ben, Customer Services

Just returned from 5 nights at the Linen Loft. Great location only a very short walk from the beach, perfect for early morning walks with our dog. The views from the house and balcony are amazing. Spotlessly clean when we arrived. The garage is a bonus although as mentioned on the details it is tight. At the present time it is important to book any restaurants for the evenings as soon as possible as we struggled on a couple of nights. The Godolphin Arms has great views of St Michael Mounts, and if you are lucky you will see fantastic sunsets from there. We normally never go back to the same accommodation, but on this property we will probably make an exception.

Lovely property in a good location with beautiful views. Very well equipped with comfortable beds and attractive furnishings. The only negative is the parking- the garage is extremely tight if you have a larger car and the lane leading to the property is also very narrow (however to be fair- this is highlighted in the property description). Otherwise a great stay in a beautiful location!

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you very much for your review. We were delighted to see how much you enjoyed your stay at The Linen Loft and that you found it well equipped. The parking space maybe a bit tight if you have a larger car, but as you have mentioned, we do our best to accurately display this on the website description. The views from the property overlooking St Michaels Mount are breath-taking and is one of our absolute favourites, so we were so pleased to see that you were fond of this too. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Ben, Customer Services.

Lovely two weeks spent in the Linen Loft. Great location and sea views from all three sides. Good selection of puzzles and games (needed due to changeable weather). Handy for the chip shop and I recommend food at Fire Engine Inn (Higher Fore St) and Victoria Inn (Perranuthnoe). Good local walks. Marazion has a huge dog beach 2 mins from the loft overlooking the Mount. A great base, nice decor and all very light and fresh. The town is very well-geared for Covid and most places are open. Parking was tight and the roof box had to come off but at least there was a garage!

Gorgeous town, amazing views, beach wonderful. The linen loft was perfect for a family with older children - can not wait to return.

Lovely and comfortable holiday flat in convenient location.

Really well positioned property, plenty of space inside and out with a very bright and airy feel to the place. Great view down to St Michael's Mount. We really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic accommodation in a great central location parking is tight but what you would expect from an old property in an old town. A brilliant base for exploring the south of Cornwall - thank you aspects, thank you The Linen Loft we will be back x

Lovely cottage with everything you could need. The outside area was perfect with us having a dog and the balcony off the lounge/kitchen was an added bonus, views were great and it was nice to be able to still sit outside considering the cottage was upside down with the lounge area being upstairs. The Linen Loft was in a great location only a short stroll to the little town of Marazion and the beach. The decor of the Linen Loft was really nice and the cottage was spotlessly clean. It is not often that you find a place that you would want to return to but the Linen Loft is definately a cottage that we would come back to very soon.

We really enjoyed staying in the Linen Loft. The cottage is nicely furnished and modern and had everything we needed. The view of St Michael's Mount from the kitchen is superb and having stayed in lots of places in the area, this has to be the best. Everything in Marazion is within walking distance.

The parking in the garage is quite tight but as long as the passengers get out before going into it and the driver leaves more room on their side to get out, it should not be an issue.

The welcome pack was incredibly generous and much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

The Linen Loft was a beautiful little cottage. With pretty much everything you need for a stay. The welcome tray was lovely with cereal, bread, butter, milk, biscuits, cheese and a cream tea. Very thoughtful and very welcome. The views from the kitchen window to St Michaels Mount were stunning as were the views from the balcony to the beach. Marazion is a lovely place and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The garage is quite small and we have a big car but parking is really easy on the slipway car park at £4.50 per day only a couple of mins away. Drop off is fine outside the cottage but the road up is narrow and single track so caution needed. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to visit again. Marazion makes it easy to visit amazing Cornwall.

Absolutely loved the Linen Loft, stunning views, stylish property, very comfortable and spacious for a family of 5. Wish we had had longer there! Booking process was very straightforward and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Aspects Holidays again! Just be sure your car can fit in the garage as it is garage parking only. The width and length were fine for our car but we couldn’t fit in with the roof box on - we had to remove this before parking! Highly recommended!
