Holidays in Perranuthnoe

Just a stone's throw from the stunning St Michael's Mount, Perranuthnoe is the neighbouring village to the old market town of Marazion. With a beautiful beach, and rocky headlands with many coves and rock pools to explore, Perranuthnoe is the perfect place to relax in a peaceful area of Cornwall.

Located in Mount's Bay, Perranuthnoe is perfect for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy the serenity that Cornwall has to offer. Described as a countryside village by the sea, Peranuthnoe is secluded enough to ensure a peaceful stay, but close enough to the bustling town of Marazion if you fancy a more lively atmosphere. With the Lizard Peninsula within easy reach, Perranuthnoe is perfect for walking holidays and exploring the rugged coastline.

Did you know...

when the conditions are right, Perranuthnoe is a great place to surf!

Things to do in Perranuthnoe

Dating back to the 12th century, Perranuthnoe's village pub named the 'Victoria Inn' is thought to be the oldest recorded Inn in Cornwall. Full of charm and character, this award winning pub is well worth a visit.

A short walk from the pub is the picturesque Perranuthnoe Church, which is dedicated to Cornwall's patron saint, St Piran. The church stands on the site of a former church dating back to 1160, and includes features from the original church, such as a Norman font.

Perranuthnoe beach, (also known as Perran Sands) offers good surfing when the conditions are right, and is ideal for beach-goers with its golden sands, cafe and car park. Be sure to visit at low tide however as there is very little left of the beach when the tide comes in! The Cabin Cafe offers stunning views and is featured in our blog: The best beach-front cafes in West Cornwall.

A popular fishing spot, even at low tide, Perranuthnoe is a favoured spot with the locals for seabass and dogfish.

The 'Village Crafts' centre located in a converted barn in the heart of the village offers an extensive range of local artwork, crafts, gifts, jewellery, and country clothing.

The Perranuthnoe Circular walk follows part of the South West Coast Path, which offers great views of St Michael's Mount, before cutting inland and back to Perranuthnoe via fields and villages.

The nearby Prussia Cove is a small and secluded rocky cove, surrounded by organic farmland and woodland has a famous history of smuggling!

Excellent location and a 15 minute walk to the beach. Outstanding views over to Marazion and close to many visitor spots. Property has everything you need but is a little tired but otherwise good value.

Thank you for your review, and we are so pleased you enjoyed those lovely views!

It is a shame to hear that you found the property to be a little tired. We aim to offer a wide range of properties that we hope will meet the different budgets, differing requirements and individual tastes, but your feedback has been passed across to the owner for them to take into consideration. Katy, Customer Services.

Great location. Great accommodation for visitors with dogs.

Well this is our second stay at Omara barn this month and she never fails to dissappoint. So spotlessly clean and lovely fixtures and fittings. The location is truly amazing, overlooking the magnificent St Michael's mount and a short walk from the lovely Perranuthnoe beach. This barn is a credit to the owners and we say thank you for letting us enjoy it. A massive thank you also to Aspect holidays you are true professionals. Can't wait for our next stay in September.

This was our fourth holiday with Aspect holidays, and our third at Oamaru. We love it here. There is everything you need for a dog friendly holiday with views. It is warm and cosy on cold days, with everything you need on hand. Lovely safe enclosed garden, with plenty of dog walks from the doorstep via the coastal path. There is a fabulous pub within half a mile of the property and a local sandy beach nearby. We have already booked again!

Have stayed at Oamaru many times and it almost feels like a 2nd home. First time we have stayed with new porch which was so useful for drying off a wet muddy dog and drying off our waterproofs etc, as the weather was very wet!

Great location and very dog friendly, perfect for the SW coastal path . Log burner was excellent and the property was spotlessly clean

Oamaru Barn, is a lovely well equipped property in a wonderful location. This was our second visit and we will certainly come again.

What a lovely presented property, we stayed for a week over new year and found it very homely and a convenient set up for holidaying with dogs. You sometimes find that the moment a property accepts dogs the quality of it tends to be less but this barn absolutely does not fall into that category. Log burner a lovely extra too Location is quite remote but also not that far from things. if you are looking for an excellent quality dog friendly property this is probably one of the best out there in this price range. Very quiet location with lovely sea views. Horses pass by some mornings which was nice to see. The walks from the doorstep was a real bonus, lovely 10 min walk down to the beach and cabin cafe really added to our stay. We would return with our 2 cockapoos no doubt.

Perfect location for exploring the Cornish coastal path and fantastic view of St Michael's Mount.

Well this is our 5th holiday at Omara barn and it never fails to dissappoint. A fantastic location in easy reach of the wonderful beach at Perranuthnoe and so many lovely walks. The barn is so well appointed and we love the recent extension which is so useful. We've already booked to return next year for three separate weeks. Many thanks to the owners of the barn and thank you Aspect holidays you are amazing.

Oamaru Barn is in a brilliant location with a wonderful view over to St Michael's Mount. The Barn is clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and within a short walking distance to the beach, good local cafés and pub. Excellent walks for our dog. We have already made 2 repeat bookings.

Omaru barn is in a great location the views over st Michael's mount towards Penzance are great ideal location to visit porthleven praa sands Falmouth Mousehole sennen cove trevaskis farm has the best breakfast Sunday lunch and evening meals it's to die for booking is advisable as for omaru barn it's fantastic very clean a credit to Cheryl the cleaner it is the best place we have stayed in we have been coming to Cornwall for 23 years it was our second stay and have booked again for 2024 oh before I go have to mention the seafood cafe in st Ives the fish and chips and other meals are great and we parked at st earth station and took the train to st Ives fares are cheaper if it's a group booking even single fare is cheap

Another wonderful holiday at Oamaru. It's become something of a second home for us and it never disappoints. Fabulous location, fabulous views. Lovely walks, and the views are spectacular too. Be there again very soon!

This is a first class accomodation in a great location overlooking St Michaels Mount. Very cosy and clean cottage and very well equipped. We highly recommend to others looking for a base in the area and we look forward to our third visit sometime in the future.

I love the fact that Oamaru is in a very rural place of peace and quiet and close to nature. It’s light and airy, clean, comfortable, well-equipped, warm and cosy in the winter. Plenty of footpaths - across fields, to the beach and village below. I love it here! It’s also great that like-minded people stay and take care of the place and help to leave it as clean for others as we wish to find it ourselves. Thank you, and to the Housekeeping team too. I hope everyone enjoys their stay as much as I have. Looking forward to a return visit.

This was our first visit to Oamaru Barn . All I can say that it was truly fantastic! The barn itself was clean and comfortable . It felt homely and had everything you would need for a wonderful holiday. The beautiful views were amazing to wake up to . The position of the barn is excellent as you feel a little off the beaten track but literally within minutes you are back on the road that leads to everywhere! Wonderful walks are on your doorstep and the enclosed garden gives you peace of mind if you have your dog with you. If you have booked Oamaru Barn for your Cornish break all I can say is “Lucky You”.

We have stayed at Oamaru many times, it always feels like a home from home as soon as we arrive. Perfect location, wonderful views, good walks on your doorstep, and so clean and comfortable. We have spent holidays at many different cottages over the years but Oamaru rates as our Number One. Also Aspects Holidays are a very efficient team.

We have stayed at Omara barn now many times and she never fails to dissappoint. A fantastic location with the barn having everything you require to make your stay a very pleasant experience. Will be back soon. Thank you Aspect holidays you are amazing.

Oamaru Barn is a lovely barn to stay in, this is our 2nd visit and we definitely book again. Set in a rural location, but very easy to access, it has amazing views over to the Mount and towards the sea. With the beach a 10 minute walk with 2 wonderful cafes it really is a lovely place to stay. The Barn really is a home from home.

Another wonderful holiday at Oamaru Barn. It certainly is a superb location, views are stunning. Lovely walks all around and Peppercorn Cafe in Perranuthnoe serve some delicious meals, well worth a visit! Victoria Inn is also very good for an evening meal.

Omaru barn what a lovely barn to stay in the view of st Michaels mount is fantastic the walk down through the fields to perra uthnoe is lovely or you can take the other walk to the beach just at the side of the barn also the barn is well equipped fantastic stay situated just right for visiting places such as porthleven Falmouth Penzance Mousehole etc also if you want a great meal or large breakfast visit trevaskis farm Connor downs you won't be disappointed been going there for a few years also farm shop is great

Also, we found that dog's were no longer welcome on St Michaels Mount. And the bus service from Marazion back to Trebarvah Lane was disappointing. Originally back in 2007 we were able to alight at the start of Rosudgeon but this year we alighted a long way past and found that there was not even any pavement to walk on the speedy A394. The bus timetables were also abismal. Obviously these points are nothing to do with Aspects Holidays but they do put a minor dampener on the overall holiday.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for the helpful information. It is always worth looking into these sorts of things before arriving, but bus services and times of the year that dogs are accepted on beaches and in places, can change regularly, so it is always worth checking for the most up to date information when booking. We hope that you still had a great time here and at the property itself. Tanya, Customer Services

Another fantastic week at Oamaru. Just the best holiday accommodation we have found. Everything you need and walks all around. Brilliant area for the dogs too. Looking forward to going back in August. Alan Wilburn

Well this is our second stay at Omara barn and it's so difficult to put it into words how good it is. We were a little apprehensive about booking the barn as it welcomes dogs and as we no longer have dogs we thought there may be some evidence of them but there was no evidence at all, spotlessly clean. Fantastic barn, everything you can possibly require and an amazing location. Many thanks Aspect you are fantastic, can't wait for September when we're back again. Ps, a big thank you to the owners.

The best ever holiday cottage in the world and fantastic service from aspects. Once you have been you will never want to home.

Perfect cottage for walkers with coastal footpaths in all directions, and stunning views across Mounts Bay. Nearest village a short walk away across fields, with good pub and small shop. Oamaru has everything needed for a comfortable holiday and I wanted to book again. Unfortunately it is so popular there is nothing available!!

An excellent choice with spectacular views. Lovely well equipped everything to hand. We have stayed several times and will be back again

We were very lucky with the weather and the barn's location is perfect for exploring.

A clean, comfortable cottage in a great location for exploring West Cornwall. Fantastic views over Saint Michael's Mount and just a short walk down to the local beach. Really appreciated having the two shower rooms and toilets.

Excellent location and comfortable cottage with plenty of amenities neaby

Loved the Barn, location, views and peace. Felt totally at home there. So appreciate the care of the place not only by Aspects, but fellow visitors because it adds to the ambiance. Thank you. Looking forward to a return visit.

The barn was clean and comfortable and in an ideal location. It had everything we needed. Perranuthnoe was less than a 10 minute walk away with pub and cafes, and there were many walks around the property including an easy one to Prussia Cove. Would definitely stay again.

We have now stayed at Oamaru at least 5 times and it never disappoints. The views, the walks and the whole area is absolutely breathtaking. Hope to stay there a few more times in the years to come. Also the Peppercorn cafe and the Cabin are well worth a try.

Excellent location with superb views. Very quiet surroundings Good layout as the living areas are in the centre with the bed/bath on either side. Very well equipped with everything you would require. TV /Sky are included should you want a quiet night in. We have used this cottage before and we have booked again for next year.

Oamaru Barn is in a superb location with views across the bay to St Michaels Mount. Also, because dogs are allowed, you have plenty of lovely walks nearby without having to get in the car.

Oamaru Barn is s perfect place to stay with stunning views of St Michael’s Mount and lovely coastal walks with many places of interest to visit. The barn is always lovely and clean and the enclosed garden is kept neat and tidy and is perfect for our energetic Golden Retriever. The booking team are brilliant, very helpful particularly when we had to move our holiday dates last year to this due to Covid. Nothing was too much trouble - a great team. We are booked already for next year and can’t wait to return to our beloved Cornwall.

Oamaru Barn is a lovely holiday home with a great view overlooking St Michaels Mount. The property is very clean with all equipment that you could possibly need in place.

Great walks just outside the front door, and very cosy at night with the log burner going.

We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Oamaru barn met all of our expectations and then some It is a lovely well appointed cottage with stunning views across Mounts Bay. The levels of cleanliness and comfort are exceptional and we wanted for nothing The fact it is dog friendly with lovely coastal walks is the icing on the cake What a wonderful base to come back to Because of the pandemic we have been looking forward to our holiday for almost 2 years and we loved it Even the weather was kind to us We will be booking again

This is a very nice property, well maintained with all you need for a very comfortable stay. It’s pretty well appointed and in a lovely location. Really handy for great walks from the door, and close to a good beach. Nicely situated in that it’s reasonably isolated but close enough to various facilities when you need them ( eg a short drive to Penzance). Drive East or West - plenty of lovely places to visit, or just stay put and walk from the door!

Oamaru Barn is the perfect location for walking and exploring the surrounding areas . Very peaceful .

Perfect setting for a base in West Cornwall, the barn has everything you can possibly need. A wonderful quiet setting with great view across Mounts Bay. Absolutely loved our stay here, was sad we had to go home.

What a wonderful spot. just as described. our dogs loved it and so did we.

Oamaru Barn is in a wonderful location overlooking Mounts Bay, perfect for walking on the South West coast path. Even on a wet and windy winter's day the Barn is very cosy and warm and offers great views. There are some lovely places to eat out nearby and on this part of the coast you are never far from anywhere.

This is a lovely property in a fantastic location - sea views, taking in St. Michael’s mount; stepping out of the door pretty much leads you into the coast path and a very short walk down to the beach and Perranuthnoe itself. The property is well appointed and very comfortable; we’ve had a great break and reserved the place again for next year, before we even left!

This was our fourth visit to Oamaru and, as always, lived up to our expectations. All amenities are very good and the views are absolutely stunning. The surrounding area is very good for walking our dogs and we made regular walks down to the village of Perranuthnoe. Peppercorn Café and the Cabin are well worth a visit too. Already booked to return in May next year, but really very disappointed we couldn't book for our two weeks in August.

A wonderful comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage with a view to die for. Not to far off the beaten track but a quiet location without isolation. We will return

Loved Oamaru Barn everything you could imagine you need in self catering was catered for . Lovely spacious accommodation and great sea views and view of St Michaels Mount. Loved it so much have booked again for next year.

Oamaru is the perfect base. This was our third visit and we love the area and it has the best view! Comfortable and the loveliest beach is only a short walk away and The Cabin is great for coffee and cake.

We recently spent 2 weeks in Oamaru Barn, out second visit and once again it didn’t disappoint. Lovely and clean and everything you need on hand for a perfect holiday. Nice neat enclosed garden for our energetic 3 year old golden retriever to play in, very important as we love to have her with us. We have already booked 2 weeks for June 2020 and have recommended to our friends and extended family. Booking staff a pleasure to deal with too, thank you.

It is not often that the photos match reality but with Omaru Barn they do. The view from the cottage of St Michaels's Mount is exactly like the photo. We would most certainly like to visit again.

Fabulous cottage, amazing views. Perfect for two couples and a dog. Would love to come back.

Another fantastic stay at Oamaru Barn. Location and views are quite superb. We have now stayed here three times and don't know of a better place to stay. Looking forward to returning again this August and May next year. Really disappointed we couldn't get it for August next year!

Such a wonderful property with stunning views and great walks on your doorstep, so good we have already booked for another holiday here!

Lovely holiday home. Omarua Barn meets all our needs for a perfect holiday. Its especially ideal for our dogs who loved the surrounding area, its perfect for them. Thank you to all concerned.

Perfect place to stay for walks along the coastal path. Well equipped and comfortable. Close to Penzance and brilliant farm shop just near the end of the lane.

Oamaru Barn is a fantastic place to stay. The view is amazing and the location too as you are right on the coastal path. It is great for dogs as the garden is enclosed and we also took our 4 month old baby and it worked well for her too as we fitted a travel cot in the bedroom fine. Overall a great stay

We had a perfect time at this barn.Thank you

A lovely little cottage, in a great location, for both relaxing with the most beautiful views and exploring the local area. With everything you need provided (linen, towels, kitchen store cupboard, toiletries, wood for fire, welcome pack) you can literally arrive empty handed and start your holiday straight away!

Stunning location and fantastic barn conversion. Will definitely be back

We recently stayed in Oamaru Barn with our 2 year old golden retriever. The secure garden was perfect for our energetic young dog to race around in. This is very important to as we like to take her on holiday with us. The property is very comfortable and extremely well equipped and the views over Mounts Bay and view of St Michaels Mount stunning. Will definitely book to stay there again. Just lovely, thank you

Oamaru Barn is a pleasure to look forward staying at! It’s location and views are second to none and we’ve been travelling to Cornwall for many many years this is possibly one of the best locations we’ve ever stayed at! And most of all my grand daughter loves it! Thanks Aspects this really was a gem of a find.

Stayed at Oamaru Barn for a week at the beginning of May with some friends and our dogs. We were very impressed with the decor, all very clean and extremely well equipped. Really liked the fact it was so warm and cosy. Good parking and fantastic walking from there. Lovely views and good pubs to eat nearby, particularly liked the Lion and the Lamb, Ashton, very good food and sensible prices. Also recommend the Hut for "proper job" hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Lovely weather couldn't ask for more.

We had such an amazing stay, perfect location and accommodation. Everything you need is there, it was warm, cosy and very clean. We would recommend to anyone who wants lovely walks, cosy place to stay and very accommodating to families and their fury friends

Comfortable cosy well presented great position

A lovely cottage with fantastic views over St Michael's Mount. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped and ideally situated for exploring West Cornwall.

Lovely cottage, ideal for any season stay. Fabulous views and in a nice quiet location.

Oamaru Barn is a lovely cottage in a quite magical location.......what can be better after a long drive than to arrive to a clean, light and airey cottage with a Cornish Cream tea ready to eat whilst enjoying the fabulous view of St Michael's Mount. No wonder people return year after year.

Oamaru is a true home from home. It's a great base and very comfortable, with amazing views. This was our second visit and we hope to return.

Wonderful place to stay, lots of lovely touches (e.g. A tub of clotted cream as a welcome present!). The views across Mount's Bay were fantastic, and it was a great base for exploring lots of West Cornwall.

Well equipped, cosy, amazing views, friendly and helpful owners. The cream tea which was waiting for us on arrival was a very welcoming touch

All in all Oamaru Barn is one of the best places we have stayed in. Easy access in and out of the lane, garden was great for the dogs, all enclosed. Could leave them on there own out there and not worry they would get out! Will definitely consider booking it again in the future. The owner was very nice and friendly too. My grand daughter forgot her binoculars and she (the owner) went back to her house and lent her a pair that she had. Little things like that mean a lot! We really enjoyed our week. Virtually everything about the place was exceptional. Thanks very much.

Oamaru was just like home from home - everything you needed was there

Oamaru Cottage exceeded our expectations. It is very well designed internally, with a good balance between, kitchen practicalities, functional dining area and a relaxing sitting area. There is a feeling of space in the cottage and the colour scheme is harmonious. Everywhere is clean and fresh. The views of the sea from the windows, with the changing light on St Michael's Mount, is a real bonus. Altogether a lovely cottage which has a very welcoming feel.

The views were fantastic. The farm workers very friendly. The cottage was was and cosy.

perfect place to Chill we will be back

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Wonderful views across the bay and ideal location if you have a dog, so many walks to choose from.

Finished to a high standard. A comments book was there, and it was interesting to see other people's comments and how quick things were addressed and resolved. (might seem small but the week before we stayed there it was commented on no cork screw and we had a corkscrew in the draw when we got there) it may seem a small thing but it counts for a lot to know that the book is left there for a reason it is read and acted on. very impressed, things like this is what brings people back again and again

Beautiful location, perfect also for dogs and children!

A gorgeous and comfortable cottage, perfect for a family of four. The wonderful Perran Sands is only a walk away and we will definitely be back.

A lovely location, the farmers are very friendly, an easy 5 minutes from Penzance, overall really happy with the location especially the views and the ability to sit outside, watching the mount and the sunset quaffing a pleasant wine.

This cottage ticks all the boxes, for a coastal walking holiday with a restful location to unwind at the end of the day. With a splendid view of Mounts Bay

A wonderful place to stay in a stunning location. Everything you need and more is provided. Will definitely be going back!

Oamaru Barn is the best accommodation we have stayed in after many holidays in Cornwall. It is spacious and relaxing. Fantastic views and gardens each side to capture sun at all times of day. Very clean and well furnished with quality fittings, made it home from home. Great for dogs/children with an an enclosed garden with tables and chairs outside too. Everything you may need is in the cottage; very thoughtful owners.

Oamaru Barn is the perfect place for a holiday in cornwall. We. Enjoyed every minute and would definitely book again.

A very well appointed comfortable cottage with excellent views and a good, sensible and practical approach to customers. Would certainly use it again, as we visit the area once a year
