This was our first visit to Tairua but we booked our second visit within an hour of arrival! It is a delightful, quiet, cosy cottage set within the most stunning location. The well-planned interior has an energising nautical vibe, with comfortable beds and quality bedding. The kitchen is well-equipped and everything was absolutely spotless. The cream tea on arrival was much appreciated. We look forward to many return visits.

Holidays in Perranuthnoe

Just a stone's throw from the stunning St Michael's Mount, Perranuthnoe is the neighbouring village to the old market town of Marazion. With a beautiful beach, and rocky headlands with many coves and rock pools to explore, Perranuthnoe is the perfect place to relax in a peaceful area of Cornwall.

Located in Mount's Bay, Perranuthnoe is perfect for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy the serenity that Cornwall has to offer. Described as a countryside village by the sea, Peranuthnoe is secluded enough to ensure a peaceful stay, but close enough to the bustling town of Marazion if you fancy a more lively atmosphere. With the Lizard Peninsula within easy reach, Perranuthnoe is perfect for walking holidays and exploring the rugged coastline.

Did you know...

when the conditions are right, Perranuthnoe is a great place to surf!

Things to do in Perranuthnoe

Dating back to the 12th century, Perranuthnoe's village pub named the 'Victoria Inn' is thought to be the oldest recorded Inn in Cornwall. Full of charm and character, this award winning pub is well worth a visit.

A short walk from the pub is the picturesque Perranuthnoe Church, which is dedicated to Cornwall's patron saint, St Piran. The church stands on the site of a former church dating back to 1160, and includes features from the original church, such as a Norman font.

Perranuthnoe beach, (also known as Perran Sands) offers good surfing when the conditions are right, and is ideal for beach-goers with its golden sands, cafe and car park. Be sure to visit at low tide however as there is very little left of the beach when the tide comes in! The Cabin Cafe offers stunning views and is featured in our blog: The best beach-front cafes in West Cornwall.

A popular fishing spot, even at low tide, Perranuthnoe is a favoured spot with the locals for seabass and dogfish.

The 'Village Crafts' centre located in a converted barn in the heart of the village offers an extensive range of local artwork, crafts, gifts, jewellery, and country clothing.

The Perranuthnoe Circular walk follows part of the South West Coast Path, which offers great views of St Michael's Mount, before cutting inland and back to Perranuthnoe via fields and villages.

The nearby Prussia Cove is a small and secluded rocky cove, surrounded by organic farmland and woodland has a famous history of smuggling!

We had a fabulous week at Taiura, the location is fantastic and we loved being able to walk to the beach at Perranuthnoe. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable holiday and we enjoyed the cream tea on arrival. Being able to access the coast path direct from the front door was a real bonus too. Peaceful and quiet yet really accessible to both North and South coast attractions we certainly hope to return.

Wow! Tairua exceeded all of our expectations and they were already high. It is a extremely comfortable home from home and a pleasure to return to after a long day. The sea views are stunning and the cottage has a lovely garden to sit in and enjoy those views. Everything was clean and of good quality, the main bed very comfortable, the kitchen was very well equipped. We felt as though the owners really cared. We loved it and would highly recommend this property .

Thank you for helping to make our holiday so wonderful.

Lovely place with beautiful views, ideal base for travelling around. Will definitely be back again.

This cottage is outstanding Including the location. The welcome pack, Milk - clotted cream jam & scones and the fresh flowers is a lovely touch. The decor is superb and so clean, well done who ever cleans. The towels & bedding are pristine. The sea views excellent.

From Ray Kay & Millie Wath - Upon - Dearne, Rotherham

Fabulous holiday in Perranuthnoe. Tairua has the most wonderful views of the sea and St Michaels Mount and the dog walks are fabulous. Good food in surrounding pubs and all dog friendly. Dogs are allowed on Perranuthnoe beach in June at any time and you can then visit the Cabin for lovely food and drinks. Also do a wonderful cream tea.

This two bed stable conversion is 'small but beautifully formed'. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect and lovely and peaceful - the view is amazing! There are lots of footpaths - and literally a couple of minutes from the famous coast path. It's easy to wander down to three excellent local eateries in the village. Great beach too. The places to visit are numerous though we hardly used the car! We would definitely consider returning - especially after the A30 improvements are completed!

Our second visit here and certainly won't be the last. Everything is just perfect. The views are outstanding, I didn't want to leave. The Cream Tea and fresh flowers on arrival was such a thoughtful gesture. I loved all the nautical touches, it felt more like a home than a holiday rental. Next time we shall stay for two weeks, one just isn't enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Excellent situation and accommodation very good. Would stay again.

A lovely very well equipped and laid out property in a great location with fantastic views. Only a 10/15 minute walk to the village/ beach ( slightly more on the walk back as it’s uphill) which has a lovely pub ( Victoria Inn) with a good atmosphere serving lovely tasty food. also two cafes, the Cabin & the Peppercorn both providing a good service with nice food and also a very good fish & chip shop a 10 min drive up the road. It was spotlessly clean with a cream tea waiting on our arrival a very nice touch. A very good service provided by the Aspects team on booking and all the information given on getting there and during your holiday. A great place for two people,we will return!

Tairua is unique, and once you have tried it calls you back and back.

The minute I arrived I fell in love with this place. Stunning views and the property has absolutely everything you need. Milk and cream tea on arrival…. Just perfect . What a beautiful place and the fact it is booked up for 2024 says it all. Perfect property. Stunning location. Aspect Holidays thank you so much. It was just fabulous.

The cottage was exactly as described. Very clean and a modern kitchen. Beds were very comfortable as well. Amazing sea views over to St Michael’s Mount with beautiful sunsets. Lovely cream tea on arrival!

Good easy walk to village as well as being close to the Coastal Path. Ideal for visiting the Cornish beauty spots.

Good for dogs as there is plenty of space at the front to put them on a long secure line.

Tairua is a wonderful place to stay - very comfortable and clean. The view from Tairua is awesome, and there are so many scenic walks to discover on the doorstep. Perranuthnoe beach is just a short walk from the cottage, and our dog was allowed on the beach before 10.00am and after 6pm. This was my second visit, and have booked already for 2024. Would definitely recommend Tairua!

This is our second stay at Tairua and will hopefully be returning in 2025. Perfect little holiday location with easy access to local walks or the beach for lazy days! I can’t fault this place at all and the welcome pack is fantastic.

Staying at Tairua was absolutely magical. As soon as we all arrived and walked through the door, we were all completely in awe! The barn is so charming and charismatic and the decor is fun, calming, transporting and nautical-themed! Everything is so clean and tidy and wonderfully presented. But outstandingly, is the stunning, extraordinary views over the sea and St Michael’s Mount. We all loved it so much and immediately after our week’s holiday was over, my Mum rebooked for next year! Couldn’t recommend it more, it’s beautiful !

Perfection. Quiet, clean, comfortable, view to die for and the food at the nearby Victoria Inn is 5 star.

Third stay at Tairua. The view is amazing and peaceful. The property has everything we needed for a chilled and comfortable, away from it all, break for two. Walks to the village, the beach (great cafe), and the costal path are all easy. Good location for getting out to see so much the far west has to offer.

Quaint cottage in a superb location! The welcome basket was extraordinary!

Aspects are a good company very helpful and the best in in our iinion

Tairua is a lovely cottage with everything you need. Location wise it is absolutely superb. Plenty of walks around the area too and food wise the Peppercorn Cafe is well worth a visit as is the Victoria Inn. Stayed 22nd to 29th October

Fabulous property in a stunning location. The property is beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed and excellent shower. The living room has fantastic views over Mount's Bay and the kitchen is well equipped. For walkers the location is perfect as you are practically on the coast path. Definitely 5 stars from us.

This was our 3rd trip and we never tire of it. Excellent well-maintained property in a marvellous location. All the options are there for local exercise, longer trips or just relaxing. Nice welcome pack too.

We had a great stay and have booked again for next year! Tairua is such an excellent place to stay in a great location, with wonderful walks and a beach on the doorstep.

Excellent place to stay when in Cornwall, the views and sunsets from Tairui are spectacular, will differently stay there again.

Lovely little cottage with breathtaking views.

Absolutely fantastic location. Excellent views from the comfort of your sofa while you relax after a day of exploring. Beautiful beach a 10 minute walk away which was quite quiet and you can take dogs on at certain times of the day. Will definitely be booking again ??

Tiarua is a lovely little barn conversion in a quiet location but close to beaches and Perranuthnoe and Marazion, and not far from Penzance. It is comfortable and clean, and Aspects Holidays were helpful to deal with. We filled our week with excellent walks and ate at very good restaurants. Liz & Mike Brown.

Beautiful spot, excellent facilities, clean and well equipped. I will be booking again !

Spotlessly clean on arrival, very quiet with an amazing view. The house is compact, warm and cosy, ok for a family of 4 with pre-teen children, perfect for two, and has everything you need for your stay. A cream tea on arrival was very welcome, (as were the Easter eggs and flowers... lovely touch!) Only a 7-8 minute walk across the fields (or on the coast path) to the village and the beach, and can recommend eating at The Victoria Inn and The Peppercorn Cafe.

Tairua is a perfect holiday destination. We’ve stayed here a couple of times now and thoroughly enjoy our visits. The views are incredible and the cottage has all the facilities that you need. Close to all amenities too. Alan Wilburn and family (stayed February 2022)

Stayed at Tairua for the first time last week (23rd - 30th Oct) and really enjoyed our stay there. Everything was spot on and first class. Lovely neat and tidy inside and everything provided. Views were magnificent too. Will definitely look forward to going back there very soon. Alan, Janice and Hannah

We had a lovely break here at Tairua. Peranuthnoe is one of our favourite places in Cornwall - we have stayed on this site at various properties over the years and this one didn’t disappoint. It’s a lovely property with spectacular views from full glass patio doors right over the sea. Loads of lovely walks and beaches close by, and the weather was fantastic!

Tairua was in a beautiful location, coastal path practically on doorstep. So close to lovely places to visit like Marazion, St.Ives, Porthleven, Praa sands. Amazing sea views. Peaceful location. Property is a small barn conversion, coastal decor inside, nice and clean with everything we required for our stay. A hidden gem.

Absolutely stunning little cottage with the most amazing views of the sea and St Michaels Mount Located off the beaten track so nice and quiet. I want to keep this place as a secret all to myself ?? We will definitely return to Tairua

Excellent location with wonderful views. Very relaxing place to stay. We will return.

Beautiful cottage! Views are amazing and kept us enthralled every evening. Cottage is cosy and furnished to a lovely standard. Only drawback is the wet room is very small, the shower cubicle in particular!

We have just returned from a perfect family holiday at Tairua. This is a lovely little cottage in a fantastic location. The kitchen is well equipped for a fully self catering holiday which helps during these uncertain times. The beach is a very short walk with a brilliant little cafe. We only wish the owners had not decided to make it adults only for all future bookings as we would have loved to return.

We had a lovely stay. Tairua is in a wonderful position with beautiful views and just a 5-10 min walk down into Perranuthnoe across beautiful meadows. Private garden at back was a bonus and we had a lovely welcome pack of scones, jam and clotted cream. Comfortable and well equipped, it met our needs perfectly.

Lovely location and comfy Too small for 4 Pretty garden

Thank you for your review; it is great to hear that you liked Tairua. This property can comfortably sleep 4, with its double and twin bedrooms, but may not offer the amount of space that some parties of 4 would want, so we try to give an accurate representation of the size and layout of the property within our photos and descriptions. We hope that we have achieved that in this case, but we will continue to monitor feedback. Tanya, Customer Services

If you want peace and quiet with spectacular views and the South West coastal path on your doorstep, this is the place for you.

A delightful, cosy barn conversion with a beautiful view of the ocean. The setting above the pretty, unspoilt village of Perranuthnoe is outstanding. Close proximity to the beach is a further bonus. Highly recommended.

Would highly recommend Tairua for a relaxing holiday away from the crowds, very peaceful, good location, very clean and decorated to a high standard. I would use the phrase "small but perfectly formed" to describe it.

Lovely location, fab home from home cottage with lovely decor, we have two girls 4 and 6 who absolutely loved it here and the view is just breathtaking. Great location as you seem to be about 20 minutes from all the main attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

A perfect base for exploring west Cornwall. Fantastic walking and a beautiful beach near by. A comfortable cottage with magnificent views to return to at the end of the day. What not to like!

This beautiful little cottage was a pleasure to spend a week in early May. Spotlessly clean, well equipped with views across to St Michaels mount on the left and far out to sea ahead. One other point to mention is that the main mattress is very comfortable as are the pillows. Mentioned because we have suffered with poor bedding in the past. There is also easy parking right by the side entrance for luggage etc.

We were fortunate with the weather ( only one rainy morning) and managed to sit outside most evenings. There’s seating to the front and side and also a lovely little well kept garden towards the back. Perfect with a cold beer or glass of wine looking out to sea

We walked to Parr sands and back (about 8 miles return) and to St Michaels Mount (6 miles return) from the cottage and also to Perranuthnoe. Unfortunately the pub wasn’t open because of COVID to quench the thirst but never mind.

The cottage is also ideal as its position makes it easy to visit Lands End, St Ives, Mousehole, Penzance and Lizard point. It’s also close to numerous supermarkets down the road towards Penzance.

All in all a wonderful week in a wonderfully and thoughtfully presented cottage. Would happily return.

Tairua has a wonderful view and it is lovely sitting out the front of the property with a nice glass of wine. Wonderful dog walks around the property and not far from beach.

Lovely comfortable accommodation. Views outstanding. The owners have thought of everything. Home from home. Welcome pack very nice touch. Lovely places to visit we will hopefully be back. Loved our much needed holiday following lockdown. Thank you .

Tairua was a sweet little property in a wonderful location with views to die for. Aspects attention to detail was amazing and in these Covid times the property was as clean as a whistle, marvellous!

Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! Idyllic setting and pretty cottage.

Tairua cottage was lovely, clean and very comfortable. The cottage is positioned in the perfect location overlooking the sea. With coastal walks and Perranuthnoe beach close by you can enjoy the immediate surroundings or discover more of Cornwall from here. It offers the perfect family getaway in one of the most beautiful areas of Cornwall. We will definitely be returning to this lovely cottage again.

Tairua has everything you need for a relaxing break. and the most stunning views. We had a great holiday.

A wonderful peaceful location with an ever changing view across Mounts Bay. Very comfortable and we'll equipped. So many walks from Tauria, ideal for dog walking

We love the place and would go back again without hesitation. Only wish we could get a week next Sept!

A great holiday! Quiet and peaceful with access to coastal path and a nice beach in walking distance. Loved watching the sunset from Tairua over the bay

Second time visiting the area our first time was in the centre of penzance but this was the much better location for us as it had outdoor space for the kids and parking which the other didn't have. The location and views were amazing and offers great walks to nearby coves (kids aged 6 and 3 both walked with ease there) and beach which sadly we only found the last day but spent the whole day there it was a great beach. Perfect location to explore other areas and a great base with plenty of equipment/room inside for us four.

A well equipped cottage with beautiful views of the sea. The kitchen has everything (including cafetiere!) and the sofas are comfortable, perfect for listening to the waves! The outside seating area is a gorgeous place to eat and the easy garden chairs delightful to sit in and watch the sun go down, or the local wildlife! The black out blinds were appreciated in the bedrooms and there was lots of space to hang clothes in the master bedroom or store in a chest of drawers / under the beds in the twin room. With fantastic views of the sea and the beach just an easy walk down a well beaten track, this is the perfect place for a Cornish holiday! Perran Sands is not busy: great for swimming, building sandcastles and body boarding, with 2 lovely cafés close by serving delicious food. The owners have thoughtfully left suggestions of walks and we enjoyed part of the Cornish coastal path from the cottage. Marazion, St Michael's Mount, Penzance are all a short drive away as are several supermarkets at Long Rock.

We really enjoyed our week at Tairua. The views over Mounts Bay are stunning and the cottage itself is very tastefully decorated. It was well located for Perranuthnoe beach and walks along the south west coast path.

Lovely single storey barn, well equipped and furnished, easy parking, fantastic location for West Cornwall and beyond, we’ll be back.

Another great week at this superb cottage - even in a wet and cold January it is exactly where I want to be!

We had such an amazing stay in Tairua. The view from the sofa through the patio doors to the sea was breathtaking and very relaxing. The cabin was extremely well equipped with kitchen utensils etc as we booked for the last week in October and had a few stay in meals in the evening. So glad I took my slow cooker with me after all day coastal walks. The place was spotlessly clean and the beautiful welcome basket of scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam was an unexpected and much appreciated touch. The fresh alstroemeria flowers in the jug lasted all week and put a smile on our faces every day. Thankyou so very much for a much needed romantic break. Andrew and Julie

One of the best holiday companies we've used. The information they provide for your stay & places to visit etc is excellent. Highly recommend aspect-holidays.

We had previously stayed in Omarua so knew the area but the views from Tairua are spectacular. The decor is lovely and the cottage felt very cosy and had a lovely feel to it. Will definitely book to stay here again.

Had a great stay at Tairua. Outstanding view, even from the sofa. Short walk to the beach. Location is very quiet. Second bedroom perfect size for 10 and 8 year old. Welcome basket was a nice touch.

The views are breathtaking, the best from any cottage we have ever stayed in.

Gorgeous little cottage with an outstanding view We would happily go there again

Great property, great facilities within the property and a fantastic location. Tairua ticked all the boxes for us. Thank you for the scones on arrival , a nice touch.

Myself and my family enjoyed every aspect of our stay at Tiarua. From the booking process to leaving it was a smooth pleasant and throughly enjoyable experience. A beautiful barn conversion, tastefully decorated and furnished. The view from the accommodation we could look at forever.

We absolutely loved Tairua! The location was fantastic, tucked away from the main road with wide sea views overlooking Mount's Bay, but still within easy reach of all west Cornwall attractions. The coast path is just down the road and it's a short walk from the cottage to a nearby beach, Perranuthnoe village or to Trevelyan farm shop. The cottage is beautifully restored and decorated with lovely pictures and coastal arts. It was very clean and well equipped. However compact it said in description, our family of four fitted in well. We definitely plan on coming back.

Beautifully situated above the village facing the sea. Cozy well equipped home from home an absolute gem of a place. Parking next to accommodation, Wifi, 20 mins stroll via coastal path to the pub, beach & beachside cafe.Outside seating dining for those sunny days. 5*

A perfect rural location - quiet and secluded - but an easy drive to all the sights of West Cornwall. Just off the coastal path for bracing walks. Beautiful views across Mounts Bay. While compact Tairua had everything required for a family of four (children aged 8 & 13).

Excellent place to stay in .can't fault it.so peaceful and relaxing. I will book again.

Clean, cosy and well equipped cottage. Good location. Would definitely recommend to my friends and would certainly holiday there again.

Nicky my niece and I had a wonderful time, the property was spotless on arrival and we settled in quickly, everything was to our liking. Because I am disabled I would like to make a suggestion, that a plastic stool is supplied in the shower, so anyone not able to stand for long can sit to shower, this is in no way a criticism, if I was going to Tairua again I would take my own and may make it part of my holiday luggage. Congratulations on a beautiful location, I hope to return soon.

A quiet location with open sea view

Lovely cottage, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Great views, stunning walks. Loved the welcome scones!!

Lovely little cottage in great location for exploring or simply walking to the beach. Throughly enjoyed our stay, we will be back.

We loved our stay at Tairua so much. Everything about it was perfect. The location, the view, the peace and quiet, the furnishings. Perfect. It was easily the best property we've ever rented and would recommend it to anyone. The beach is easily accessible from the property but not, it seems, to the general public so it felt like our own private beach at times. Bliss!!

We had a fabulous week in the property. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner, Nick, and the neighbouring farmer who we met when we stayed last year.

The cottage is in a prime location allowing us to enjoy the most glorious sunsets. It had everything we needed as a family of four and a small dog.

Very pleased with every part of our booking. Received emails from Aspects during our stay keeping us updated with WiFi fixing. Tairua was in an excellent location - very peaceful and quiet but easy to get to all parts of South Cornwall. Nic and Allen were welcoming and friendly - we appreciated the Cornish goodies apologising for disruption to WiFi (which we didn’t experience anyway!) The only very minor improvement I would suggest would be to have a cafetière for making fresh coffee but that’s just a suggestion. Everything was perfect for our stay and we’d recommend the place for couples.

This property is good for a small family as the coastal paths are close by.

This is a wonderful cottage, equipped to a very high standard and extremely cosy and comfortable, even in the teeth of a gale! Its position overlooking Mount's Bay could not be bettered.

Lovely cottage with excellent sea views. All the amenities available and they seem to have thought of everything, like being at home

We had a lovely week in this barn conversion. I was much bigger than we expected and the location was perfect for exploring the local area. The views were incredible.

The cottage was outstanding, the only fault was lack of hot water which meant boiling kettles to wash up. A dishwasher would be beneficial to the property. The reception from the owners was very welcoming and the flowers were a lovely thought. The views were amazing especially the sunsets, it was a lovely place just to relax and unwind. Rob & Glyn Cole

Thank you for bringing the hot water comment to our attention. We have checked with the property owners, and the hot water for the sinks is provided by a small electric heater, so would just need to be given a little while to heat up once you have used what is in the tank. It would usually be plenty enough to fill up the sink, but then needs a little time to reheat if you require another sink full, and will not affect hot water for the shower. We will monitor any further feedback, and if this is something that needs to be made a little clearer within the property, we will get a note added, so as to avoid any concern. Thank you for highlighting this, and glad that you enjoyed it so much there. Tanya, Customer Services
