The Stowaway is a super ground floor bolthole on Mount Zion and is accessed via a pleasant communal courtyard with bistro table and chairs, just off the Wharf. The property has an open plan arrangement with a well-equipped kitchen area, and lovely harbour views. The Stowaway offers a fabulous bolthole for couples who want to be situated right in the heart of St Ives.
The Stowaway is in an ideal location to easily explore St Ives and enjoy all the eateries, shops and beaches the town has to offer. Although there are steps from the harbour to the property, being all on one level internally and so close to all the amenities, it may suit those guests with slightly limited mobility or those who simply prefer to be right in the heart of St Ives with no stairs or hills to climb.
level access from Mount Zion via courtyard area through stable door into:
sofa bed and armchair, TV, kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, washer/dryer, table with two chairs, two stools, windows overlooking the harbour. Doors to:
double walk-in shower enclosure, WC and basin.

this property has been listed as accessible due to being located on the ground floor, though has a total of 6 external steps from the Wharf to the front door and is on one level once inside. There is also one step into the walk in shower.

Fabulous little bolt hole to explore St. Ives. I got a great discount for last minute booking. Got everything you need and a fab, quiet, little gated courtyard out front to sit and read with harbour views, or leave sandy items and hang some washing. Stable door and gated courtyard was also a massive bonus for my little dog. Overall loved it and will look to book there again in future.

This charming corner of St Ives is adjacent to Downalong and the iconic harbourside, known as The Wharf, and offers the best of both worlds: serene holiday cottages boasting traditional charm, yet only a few steps from the Harbour beach and the plethora of wharfside amenities.
Mount Zion is where St Ives harbour joins the old fisherman's quarter?

This tucked away escape is perfect for everything you need to have a cosy stay in the heart of st.Ives. Located a few steps from the main harbour toy get to be in the midst of the Cornish chaos whilst having space to relax as you have a small outdoor space and a cosy apartment to sleep easy at night. This was our second stay as we loved it straight away. Bear in mind space is limited so be resourceful in your items. Upstairs can also be a tad noisy if they are heavy footed which can cause some disturbance but overall this is a fantastic place to stay!
Mrs Casey Sep 2022
Stowaway is very compact but there is sufficient storage and it was fine for two of us. We enjoyed the outside space and the location.
Mrs Gallagher Aug 2022
Perfectly situated on harbour view, with surrounded walking distance of the beautiful town shops.
Would not recommend if you no good at sleeping without no ventilation or no air conditioning in the bedroom. Especially in the summer season.

We are sorry if this was not what you were expecting. We try to show the layout of the property as best as possible on the website photos and show that there are no windows in the bedroom. It is possible to leave the kitchen windows open along with the bedroom doors to get some air flow in there. If it is still too warm in the summer, our local office sometimes has a spare fan that can be borrowed. We do hope that you still enjoyed it there, making the most of being just steps from the harbour, those lovely views and some great little cafes and restaurants. Tanya, Customer Services
I would not recommend this property

We are so sorry to hear this. Having been in contact since, we understand that you had experienced some problems with the TV and some noise from upstairs and that this hadn't been addressed by the team in the best way. We were very disappointed to hear this. Whilst noise can always be a risk of staying in an apartment and we are restricted on what we can do with this, you should most certainly have had the issue with the TV addressed and your concerns responded to in a much better way, and we would like to reassure you that this is not how we would usually deal with something like that. We hope that the correspondence that you have had since has helped to restore your faith and reassured you that this is not the norm. We do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again. Tanya, Customer Services
Compact apartment in perfect location by harbour. Benefits from lovely outside patio area with fuchsia and Passionflower where you can sit and look at the harbour. No real views of harbour from inside the flat but the above more than compensates. Limited space for storing clothes and suitcase. Slightly dark inside being an old fisherman’s cottage but lots of mirrors to reflect the light and cosy in the evening. Perfect for one person.

We expected the Stowaway to be small and it was BUT it had everything we needed and the position couldn’t be better for beach and all other amenities. The bonus of the courtyard made it .Thankyou
Mrs Field Jun 2022
A great apartment right on the harbour with outdoor seating. This was booked as its classed as accessible, which once inside it is. However, there is a step up into the apartment which makes this not fully accessible. Also, be warned its quite a long way round to get to the wharf as there are 4 steps down. However, very clean, very comfortable and a great location in the centre of St ives.

We are sorry if this is not what you had expected. The Stowaway is marketed as accessible, but this term covers properties that range from being suitable for those with slightly limited mobility to those who rely on a wheelchair, so we always advise to speak to the team before booking if accessibility is an important consideration, and we try to include information in website descriptions that highlights what makes the property accessible. For The Stowaway, we state on the website that it has been listed as accessible due to being located on the ground floor, though has a total of 6 external steps from the Wharf to the front door and is on one level once inside. We also highlight the one step into the shower. So, we hope that this didn't come as too much of a surprise and the property still worked well for you. Tanya, Customer Services
Ideal for 2. Cosy and clean. Perfect location.
Mr Harris Nov 2021
This cute little stepping stone to St.Ives is perfect for a couple or small family who want to love like a local but feel at home. The Stowaway provided a cosy space after a long day at the beach! We were amazed to be able to see the sea each morning and sit out at night too! If you want something easy to access, cute and enjoyable this is the one to book! Aspects also made it super easy to book and set up home for a week, we would defiantly stay again!
Mrs Casey Aug 2021
All in all we had a very pleasant stat at the stowaway, it is the ideal couples bolt hole in st Ives easy access to all surrounding places to eat and drink plus all the shops. Not too far from the parking areas for your vehicle , we would stay here again very satisfied
Mr Booth Jun 2021
My husband and I recently spent a week at The Stowaway.
Great little hide-away - well named for sure. Works well for 2 people.
Everything was super-clean and functional - everything you could need for a short stay including creative storage bins to hide your clothes out of the way and not have to live out of a suitcase. Not luxurious but excellent value for money.
The outside space is a nice bonus. Can't beat the location ... right by the beach but just that step away for quiet and social distancing! Highly recommend!

Fantastic location! Stayed on the front in many cottages in St.Ives but this is the quietest. Lovely cottage and would return. Only downfall is the no parking.

Brilliant accommodation. Very close to beach, lovely to have some outdoor space, would definitely book again
Mrs Goddard Jun 2019
This is a wonderful place to stay, perfect for a couple. The location is superb. The property is well equipped and has the great advantage of outside space overlooking the harbour.
Mrs Sears Apr 2019
Lovely cosy cottage for two that was well equipped. Ideally situated in the centre of St Ives. The courtyard gets the morning Sun then stays cool from the afternoon onwards which was perfect for us during the recent heat waves. Would definitely return.
Mr Pennington Jul 2018
It was a fantastic location. Couldn't have wished for a better position. Only downside you could here every footstep from upstairs and there was five people.

We are so sorry that you experienced noise from the apartment above. I don't believe that this has been an issue there before, but with differing guests in the upstairs property each week, we would hope that what you experienced was a one-off. It sounds like you enjoyed everything else about it, so we hope that this didn't take the shine off it for you. Tanya, Customer Services
A charming little flat with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Ideally situated right next to the harbour, but at the same time tucked away from the hustle and bustle. You are also just 5 minutes from Porthgwidden beach, which as this is our favourite beach, was a bonus.
Ms Robinson Sep 2016
