A lovely week at Porth House. Fantastic location although not suitable for anyone with mobility issues owing to the hilly location and number of steps to get to the property. The building work being carried out next door was explained to us before our arrival and we were given the option to cancel or change the booking, but it didn't cause us any problems.

The view from the balcony was outstanding, worth the stay on its own. Just a short walk to St Ives and a lovely stroll into Carbis Bay, the house is on a main bus route if you want to leave the car at home. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room very comfortable, as are the bedrooms.

The relaxing views from porth House are amazing but the cleanliness of the property was poor

Thank you for taking the time to provide your thoughts following your stay at Porth House - we are so pleased you enjoyed those spectacular views!

We are very sorry if the standard of cleanliness was not to the usual high level that you would have expected from the properties that we market; we can only apologise if any areas had been missed. It's such a shame that we didn't hear from you during your stay, as we would have done everything we could to have rectified any cleanliness concerns you had at the time, but thank you for letting us know now. We will follow up on this with the housekeeper, so thank you for your comments. Katy, Customer Services.

We have stayed at Porth House 3 times now and absolutely love everything about it. Views are amazing, lovely easy walk into St.Ives, always have to stop to take in the views.

"Home from home, nestled above the cliffs"

Words simply cannot describe what you'll discover here as a family together! -

It includes happy people waving as they pass, Dolphins, Gannets and refreshing walks ... You won't be disappointed booking here, its a stunning little home from home nestled above the cliffs ... Come and experience coastal life .

View is amazing Perfect for family’s & bonus garage for your car.

A lovely house with outstanding views, really liked the living room being upstairs.
A lot of of steps up to the house so if you struggle walking maybe not for you. Parking space is a real bonus but the walk into town isn't too bad especially if you use the coastal path down to porthminster beach . Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

What a wonderful place to stay. The views from the balcony are so stunning and there’s such a peaceful vibe being just outside the hustle and bustle of St Ives town (much as we love it!) Being right on the coastal path gives you great walks in either direction, to town or into Carbis Bay and beyond. So much sky and sense of space! We never tired of the view from the path down onto Porthminster, nor of watching the train pass. The garden and social spaces in the house are lovely, and everything has been provided to make you feel welcome and comfortable in your new seaside home. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely, spacious property, good location and wonderful views. Very clean, well equipped and essentials provided for arrival. Easy distance from both St Ives and Carbis Bay, but a reasonable level of fitness required if walking. Given the scarcity of parking in St Ives, it's good to have private parking at the property.

Porth house is amazing. The views from the sitting room and bedroom are fantastic. We have just come back from a holiday there and even in December with limited daylight it didn't stop us enjoying it. We saw seals everyday and dolphins and then in the evening the moon was beautiful. The house is big with 2 bathrooms. The walk to St ives and carbis bay only short which we did everyday. The train, you could hardly hear and was a pleasant sound not an annoyance at all. From the second We arrived everything was perfect from ease of getting into the property, with spacious well thought rooms. A lovely little welcome pack was just what we needed after a long drive. The house is so peaceful at all times. The only tiny thing we suggest is a king size bed rather than double to make this house extremely exceptional. As said on other reviews the steps up to house might be an issue but it wasn't for us helped burn off the cakes from St ives. If your looking for a peaceful break with fantastic views this is definitely worth a stay. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for a lovely house and holiday.

It sounds like you were lucky enough to see some pretty amazing views while staying at Porth House, all while being immersed in the other sights and sounds of what St Ives has to offer. We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time at the property, and the welcome pack that was left for you on arrival. Your comments have automatically been passed to the property owner, who can take your suggestion of adding a king-size bed into consideration, alongside other factors such as room-size and layout. As you mentioned, the property may not be suitable for those with limited mobility due to the amount of steps leading to the property, but we do try to make this as clear as possible in the description. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Katy, Customer Services.

Another enjoyable stay however we concur with the guest review in May 2022 'It was let down by the fact that the house was not as clean as we’ve come to expect with Aspects properties'.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We were really sorry to hear this, as the recent feedback on the cleanliness has been extremely good, and after us monitoring this and carrying out a spot check since that last bit of feedback, we had felt confident that the concerns were all addressed. We will make sure that we follow this up with that owner's housekeeper again, as we would always expect the standards to be extremely high. Thank you for letting us know. Tanya, Customer Services

Great stay at Porth House , fantastic view and great facilities . Board games and DVD selection a lovely touch . Train didn’t bother us at all. Would be a tricky walk form St ives for the less mobile .

We stayed at the beautiful Porth House last week and cannot really find anything negative to say about the property. The sea view from the balconies are amazing and you have a choice of outdoor seating areas. You can go left to Porthminster beach or right to Carbis Bay both taking approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to either beach. The property is spacious and comfortable and has all you need for your stay. The garage takes a car the size of a Vauxhall Insignia as that was a concern for us before we got there and that there is also room for another car to park in front of the garage and space to manoeuvre if other cars are parked. Really happy with the parking as we had two cars and expected to have to use a car park and pay for parking elsewhere. There is about 39 steps in total to the property which are gradual and not continuous and not steep so you can stop and start as required. Great property in a lovely peaceful location and would stay there again without hesitation.

Stayed with my family in Porth House last week. The property is gorgeous and the view from the balcony is amazing. Roughly a 10 minute walk to Porthminster beach where there is canoeing and body boarding reasonably priced. St. Ives town is a further 10 minutes away where there is a really good bus service. Would definitely recommend this property.

We have just stayed at Porth House for a week and were really lucky with the weather so spent a good amount of time on the terrace. The views are amazing and we even saw dolphins! The open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area are the real features of this property, ideal for enjoying the views and natural light. Walking into St Ives takes about 20 minutes and we discovered a lower path which cuts out part of the steep top path. A really enjoyable and memorable holiday - I’m sure we’ll be back!

Porth House is in an excellent location for a short walk into St Ives. There are amazing sea views from the living room and the parking was a bonus. It was let down by the fact that the house was not as clean as we’ve come to expect with Aspects properties.

We were so pleased to see that you found Porth House to be an excellent hub for a short stroll into St Ives, it certainly is in an excellent spot and boasts some spectacular sea views because of this. We were sorry to see that despite your fondness for the property, you felt it was let down by the cleaning on this occasion. Please rest assured that all of your feedback has been passed onto the housekeepers for this property, and we will continue to monitor the feedback on this for a while, as we would always expect for guests to arrive to a high standard of cleanliness . We do hope that we will welcome you back again soon. Ben, Customer Services.

Porth House is definitely one of the best properties we have stayed in. Absolutely beautiful location with amazing views. We would definitely recommend and would love to revisit as soon as we possibly can. Because it was too chilly to use the outside seating areas would love to go back in the warmer weather.

Perfect private idyllic house providing you enjoy your walk like ourselves superb !!

Porth house is a beautiful, warm, tastefully decorated holiday house. It’s about 25 mins walk into town - fairly steep as you’d expect in the area. The sea views are just beautiful from the house and there are two outside seating areas. I would definitely recommend ans would go back. We stayed for 5 nights over the new year period. I can imagine how amazing it would be to stay on summer too.

Well equipped, beautiful location, pleasant decor, an old favourite of ours. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Comfortable, spacious and convenient with spectacular views and easy walks into St Ives - highly recommended. Steep access is a problem for anyone with mobility issues and heavy luggage but that did not put a damper on a wonderful holiday in a fascinating part of the country.

Superb location with the added benefit of having a parking space and garage. We will hopefully return!

Had a lovely holiday, lovely house lots of space and a short walk into St Ives. Very quiet location would stay there again. We saw seals in the sea and even a fox in the garden.

Really lovely views from a spacious property with excellent balcony, which is in a great location for both St. Ives and Carbis Bay. The walk to St. Ives is very steep with a path that drops into Porthminster Beach whilst the walk to Carbis Bay is again steep, over a railway bridge and down steep steps. Access to both would be extremely difficult if you have any mobility issues. Timewise, it's approximately 15 minutes to Porthminster Beach, 25 minutes to St. Ives, 40 minutes to St. Ives lighthouse and 25-30 minutes to Carbis Bay beach. There are more amenities at Porthminster Beach. Handy to have parking, although we only just managed to fit in our 4x4 and were lucky there were only two other cars on the forecourt as otherwise we never would have got in! Welcome pack on arrival with tea and biscuits, with washing up liquid, brush and bin bags also provided along with shower gel and plenty of towels. Some of the photographs on the website were not up to date. The upper patio especially needs some TLC and, in the lower patio, the BBQ has seen better days. Bed in main bedroom could do with a better mattress, but if you like a really firm mattress then this would be great for you. Lots of storage space and a range of DVDs with great WiFi throughout. Superb shower! Porth House sits very close to the St. Ives branch line and, whilst other reviews have said you can't hear anything, trains are quite audible between 7am and 11pm even with doors and windows closed. I would stay here again as it is a lovely property offering great views over St. Ives Bay in a seduced area.

It certainly sounds like you had a nice time exploring this area. Whilst the walks along the coast path, can be challenging; the views are just stunning and make the time and effort well worth it! And Porth House is in a perfect location for being able to get on to that coast path to start your day's adventure. We are glad to hear that you still managed to fit your vehicle in the space there. All parking spaces are classed as being suited for average sized cars (within our literature, we give the guide of this as like a VW golf) unless we state otherwise, so if you are arriving in anything bigger and we have not given specific measurements, or highlighted that it is suitable for large vehicles, it is always best to check with us before booking. Thank you for letting us know about your thoughts on the photos and the patio area, we will make sure that this is passed onto the property owner, and we will check everything on our next inspection, so that we can pass on any more specific details to the property owner. As mattresses can be very dependent on personal preference, we will monitor any further feedback on this for now. Thanks for the helpful comments, we are glad that you liked Porth House and hopefully we will see you back here again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Just what my family and I needed. We had a tough couple of years with my wife having a major operation and my son not being well. This was a perfect holiday and one we will never forget.

Porth house is in a beautiful position overlooking the bay we could not fault it's position, we would gladly stay there again.

The house is perfectly situated so that you are a 10-15 min walk to St Ives and the opposite direction to Carbis bay. It’s a quiet place to be ideal to relax and recharge especially it you have had a day in St Ives which was very busy with traffic and people. It’s a bit strange being in a house with the sleeping and bathroom downstairs but you get the amazing views from upstairs and a balcony to enjoy it from Perfect place to stay would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family ??

Just spent a week at Porth House and it was a really lovely stay. Beds very comfortable with good quality linen. Everything very clean on arrival. Sofa was also very comfortable too. Sitting on the first floor patio first thing in the morning, in the sun, with a cuppa, was perfect. There was no noise from anything along the road with the small branch line train not causing any disturbance.

It is about a 10 min walk to St Ives with a short and very steep bit along the way. Anyone with mobility issues would struggle, I think. Carbis Bay is about 15 mins away and again a bit steep in parts.

The views from the house and to and from St Ives or Carbis are stunning!!

I would recommend having a holiday in the area and staying at Porth House.

Porth House is a great holiday rental property with fabulous views. Short walks into both St Ives centre and Carbis Bay but steep inclines to be encountered both directions. Would certainly recommend this property and Aspects Holidays.

We loved staying at Porth House, had such a lovely stay & enjoyed the absolutely stunning views! So nice to have the little welcome touches too, the location is ideal to get to the beautiful beach of Porthminster, and Carbis Bay in easy walking distance too (though a little trickier with a buggy). The house itself is beautiful, clean and comfortable with lovely seating areas to sit and have a glass of wine while taking in the lovely sea view. (Also very happy it was child friendly with stair gate & high chair etc) We loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends.

Lovely property with great views and a lovely 15 minute walk into St. Ives. Clean, welcoming and parking for 2 cars is always welcome on a trip to St. Ives.

We had a great week at Porth House - the view is outstanding and watching the little train go by is very quaint. The walk down to St Ives is very easy although the walk back up is more challenging. Porth House is in a very peaceful location.

Great, quiet location - away from the bustle, but still within easy 10-15 mins walking distance of St Ives. Also very handy for Carbis Bay beach (15 mins walk). Balcony has great views over St Ives Bay, frequent dolphin pod sightings. The front patio area is great for barbecues. The rear elevated decking platform also gives good views over the bay. Really enjoyed our 2 week stay at Porth House.

Porth House is spacious, comfortable and contemporary. Best of all though is it’s wonderful location. We loved the various outside seating areas with fantastic coastal views. We appreciated being slightly away from the crowds in St Ives and yet Porth House is only a scenic 5-10 minute stroll to the beautiful Porthminster beach. We felt very lucky to get our last minute reservation.

Great company to deal with. Friendly, patient and happy.

We had a lovely week in St Ives in a house with stunning views, comfortable furnishings and tasteful decor. Slightly steep walk into town/beach but this made it nice and quiet for enjoying the balcony and watching the wildlife in peace. Would recommend St Ives and Porth House to anyone who doesn;t mind climbing a few steps.

The house is beautiful. The views, amazing. Having the living area upstairs really makes the most of the amazing view. It is really spacious and yet cosy and comfortable. The steps up to the house were only an issue on arrival, carrying suitcases up, but other than that, not a problem. The beach is lovely and around a 10 minute walk. Having a parking space and also a garage is a real benefit. The perfect place to store body boards, wet suits etc. Collection of keys is really easy, the office is a short drive from the house with plenty of parking. We would definitely recommend.

Porth House is a beautifully decorated house in a fantastic secluded location! The views from the living area and glass balcony are fabulous. If you like walking, the coastal path gives convenient access to St Ives and Carbis Bay so you can enjoy a holiday without needing to drive anywhere! We had a thoroughly enjoyable week at Porth House.

Excellent accommodation. Better than we hoped for. Views to die for.

Porth House is a spacious property with stunning views regardless of the weather. Ideal, quiet location (the trains are no problem at all) within easy reach of St Ives and Carbis Bay. Read on the terrace or walk the South West Coast Path: Porth House is the perfect base whether you want activities or simply the space to relax and unwind.

Fabulous!

Location was perfect. The balcony a great asset to enjoy the great views. Having the garage parking space is another big bonus and one of the reasons I’d consider booking Porth House again. Although there are quite a few steps from the access road up to the property, this was only a small issue when we arrived in terms of carrying our luggage up to the house. The access road is very quiet and it wouldn’t be a problem to leave the car at the base of the steps to unload the cases etc. For the rest of our stay we didn’t really notice them. The lounge and kitchen area is spacious and bright and the bedrooms are comfortable and clean. Having two bathroom/toilets was a very useful addition. I’d be happy to book Porth House again.

porth house is a very nice house, it has everything you need for a holiday, the views from the balcony are excellent. very comfortable seating in the lounge and a large tv. beds are a little small for someone that is 6ft like myself. all in all a very nice stay. please be aware that when we stayed at christmas it was very quiet, they are building a new house or flats very close by, so being in the building game i think the next 4 or 5 month's will be a little noisy when sitting on the balcony.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your very helpful comments; we would always rather make any guests aware of building works that could impact upon guests experience at a property, so now having this information, we will be keeping a very close eye on this. Having looked into what we can at this stage, it is new properties being built just down the road from Porth House, and though it is not visible from Porth House and the builders do not envisage any disruption, we will continue to go over and inspect this, to monitor for noise that can be heard from the property and if we have any indication that it could cause disruption, we will contact any guests that may be affected. Thank you again for making us aware, and glad to hear about how much you liked this property. Tanya, Customer Services

Porth House exceeded all expectations! Amazing views across the bay which constantly changed colour according to the weather, the clouds and the time of day. We felt like the Railway Children frantically waving from the balcony to the GWR train trundling past. From the balcony we spotted fishing boats early in the morning reeling in their nets and then heading off to the harbour. At night the lights of Carbis Bay twinkled in the distance making the whole experience magical. Our short stay, even in November, was truely breathtaking. We would highly recommend this property to everyone.

The balcony at Porth House provides the perfect spot for watching the sunrise and counting the stars...even spotting the occasional dolphin if you are lucky.

Stunning views from lounge/balcony. Beautifully presented and well equipped 3 bedroomed, two bath/shower roomed property. Three outdoor eating places. 10-15 minutes walk to fabulous beaches. Quiet location with just the local train rattling by from time to time. Opportunity to burn off those cream tea calories with a step aerobic session to your front door. The climb gets easier through the week but it's best to avoid carrying heavy items.

Porth House makes you feel like a millionaire, the views are spectacular, the house is very comfortable and well furnished. The garage parking is a bonus and the use of beach equipment was a welcome find. St ives and the beach is accessible on foot, but be warned the hills are very steep. There are 40 steps up to the property, so only suitable for able bodied people.

Thank you for your comments; we are delighted to read how much you enjoyed this property and those beautiful views. To get those great views, there are a number of steps to negotiate, which we agree may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, so whilst we do not include the number of steps on the website, we advise that there are several, and that it may not suit those with limited mobility. We hope that it didn't cause any issue for you and the rest of your party, and if this is something that is an important consideration if returning to the area, please do not hesitate to get in contact so that we can help advise you before booking. We hope to see you back again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Fantastic spacious, clean and modern property. Amazing view, well worth the climb from Porthminster

Fantastic views over to Gwithian and Godrevy and even had dolphins leading paddleboarders out to sea,Fabulous!

Is better than its photos - wonderful location with amazing views. Plenty of room for everyone to have a quiet space or all get together. Loved it

A fantastic week in St Ives helped by some good weather! Lovely accommodation in a lovely location, couldn't have been better.

Beautiful balcony views over Carbis Bay. Lots of outside sitting areas to enjoy the views.

Fantastic sea views.

Lovely location . Parking , spacious , peaceful , lovely balcony to relax have meals and drinks , sunbathe while taking in the beautiful views over sea . Delightful

This is a spacious property which offers the best of both in terms of access to St Ives and coastal walks. The views are stunning. Breakfast on the balcony is a real highlight.

Lovely property - clean quiet - good value

A well equipped, modern house with great sea views. We enjoyed the stay.

We had a wonderful few days at Porth House. Incredible views and a beautiful and spotlessly clean house.

Porth House offers everything it says "on the tin". Fantastic view, easy walking access to St.Ives (only a slight little climb). Well equipped and a very comfortable home - definitely would like to return to Porth House

Very nice house with wonderful views, the owners seem to have thought of everything.
