Waking up to a glistening of frost, leaves crunching beneath the feet, evenings snuggled around a crackling woodburner, it must be Autumn again! We have put together a selection of our favourite cottages for an autumnal break in Cornwall.
Trevarnon Cottage
A very wholesome autumnal break awaits at Trevarnon Cottage, a newly renovated barn conversion tucked away down a leafy lane in the West Cornwall countryside. Sleeping five guests and featuring two woodburners, the cottage is the perfect place to come back to after days exploring. Take a stroll to nearby Trevaskis Farm and enjoy a day out at the pumpkin patch! Head to their farm shop to get all the ingredients for a delicious roast dinner, which you can enjoy back at the cottage with the woodburner flickering in the background, the perfect end to an autumnal day out!
Carn Stables
Blissfully isolated from the world’s worries, Carn Stables is a stylish all-weather retreat for two, and their furry friends. Keen walkers can step into their walking boots and explore Cornwall's rich mining heritage, the historic Gwennap Pit, the Great Flat Lode and the peak of Carn Marth are all nearby. On return, the warm outdoor shower is perfect for washing muddy paws, and the hot tub is a luxurious addition for stargazing soaks.
Bryher Cottage, Trevaylor
Nestled next to Trevaylor Woods in a rural hamlet, Bryher Cottage is a beautifully furnished and cosy abode for an autumn escape. Slip into your welly boots and explore the ever-changing colours in the woods next door, come back to snuggle up next to the woodburner with your four-legged friend. Bryher Cottage was also featured in House Beautiful magazine in 2024!
The Old Dairy
A haven for wildlife lovers and those seeking peace and tranquillity, The Old Dairy is a perfectly cosy barn conversion that sleeps four guests and pets. Meet the inquisitive neighbours next door, Norma and her alpaca brother and sisters, the perfect company to enjoy a cuppa with! Not far from Bude town, on sunny autumn days take an invigorating dip in Bude Sea Pool and enjoy some cold-water therapy. Head back to The Old Dairy and wrap up in blankets, roasting marshmallows around the firepit. For larger parties you can book The Milk House next door.
St Breca
Cornish for unique, St Breca is a stunning home for spending quality time with a loved one in Cornwall at this quieter time. Nestled near Prussia Cove, a Cornish hidden gem, explore the quaint Smugglers coves on the doorstep, which you may even find deserted at this time of year. Return to St Breca and settle in for an evening on the veranda with a warming hot chocolate in the moonlight.
Rose Cottage, St Ewe
This charming cottage nestled in the quaint hamlet of St Ewe, just outside of Mevagissey, Rose Cottage has been lovingly restored into the ideal out of season bolthole. Cosy nights snuggled in front of the roaring woodburner await after coastal walks and charming pub lunches. The renowned Lost Gardens of Heligan is just a short drive away, a must-visit at any time of year, and the quaint shops in Mevagissey are ideal for an afternoon of window shopping.
The Old Stables
The Old Stables is a beautifully renovated countryside retreat in the pretty village of Mawgan, on the unspoilt Helford River. Head out to explore the great outdoors, Roskilly’s is nearby and has a wonderful woodland walk, perfect for an autumn stroll through the trees, finishing with a delicious ice cream. End the day tucking into the sumptuous super king size bed with charming church views.
Drop Anchor Cottage
Perfectly placed in the charming village of Mullion, Drop Anchor Cottage is perfect for a romantic escape or small families. Keen walkers will love the beautiful local beaches and coast path rambles along the south coast, the enclosed garden is ideal for pups and the woodburner is a cosy addition to this welcoming cottage.
Offshore Cottage
This picture-perfect cottage in the heart of idyllic St Agnes is a fantastic base to explore Cornwall at all times of the year. Offshore Cottage sleeps six guests and is just a short walk from Trevaunance Cove, a sandy beach with a plethora of rockpools to explore. For a wholesome woodland walk, head to Tehidy Woods just a short drive away and stomp through muddy puddles and crunchy leaves on the 9-mile stretch. Come back to curl up in front of the woodburner on chilly evenings and tuck into delicious cakes from St Agnes Bakery.
Tivoli Cottage
Tucked away down a leafy peaceful country lane in the heart of the countryside, Tivoli Cottage is a gorgeous abode sleeping four. Just a stone’s throw from Rinsey Cove, a secluded beach tucked beneath Wheal Prosper tin mine. The granite fireplace complete with roaring woodburner is perfect for snuggling up after coming back from an evening of watching fireworks and toasting marshmallows over the bonfire.
18 Sea View Crescent
Tucked away from the seaside hustle and bustle, yet still just a 10-minute walk to the beach, 18 Sea View Crescent promises a memorable break. Sleeping seven and accepting pets, this large home has something for everyone, from the 3-mile long dog friendly beach and pubs in Perranporth to the cliff top walks with unforgettable views on the South West Coast Path. Blow out the cobwebs on blustery beach walks, then return for a relaxing dip in the hot tub.
